The Center Announces Ongoing Partnership with Insert Coin(s)
Downtown interactive nightlife venue partners with The Center for a series of beneficial and educational community events
The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, a community-based organization, is thrilled to announce the beginning of an on-going partnership with downtown neighbor, Insert Coin(s).
Furthering its commitment to serving the local community and contributing to the revitalization of Downtown Las Vegas, Insert Coin(s) has committed to hosting fundraising events, donating supplies and games to The Center, and contributing to the educational outreach programming with inspirational lectures and events.
“The video gaming community hasn’t historically created the most accepting spaces for LGBTQ individuals,” said Bob Elkins, CEO of The Center. “Insert Coin(s), however, is one of downtown’s most socially relevant and responsible establishments. Their commitment of time and resources will especially empower our youth, many of whom are avid gamers.”
Kicking off the partnership, Insert Coin(s) will host a night on Thursday October 3, 2013 for invited Center guests and Board of Directors from 8pm – 9:30pm and then to the public from 9:30 pm to close. In addition, the Insert Coin(s) team will make a generous donation of games and consoles to support The Center’s recreational space.
Throughout the rest of 2013, and into the New Year, Insert Coin(s) will be hosting a series of events in support of The Center. Chris LaPorte, Insert Coin(s) founder, will be participating in “The Centerpiece”, an Arts and Culture series thoughtfully assembled for Nevada’s LGBTQ and allied communities. Boasting a broad array of subject matter and artistic medium, each Centerpiece offers a diverse yet accessible glimpse into the compelling and often complex world in which we exist.
“When The Center opened downtown, we knew we had to be involved,” said Chris LaPorte, Insert Coin(s) founder. “We are looking forward to helping and engaging those The Center services in any way possible, and hopefully having a positive impact on their individual futures.”
The Center partnership is one of Insert Coin(s) many community philanthropic endeavors, but will be the interactive venue’s signature ongoing charitable partnership.
