WHAT: The Venetian® Resort Las Vegas and Sands® Expo will turn exterior tower signs red on Friday, Feb. 5, to celebrate the American Heart Association’s Wear Red Day and to kick off American Heart Month. In 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first proclamation declaring February American Heart Month, to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and encourage everyone to focus on heart health.

 

In addition, the first Friday in February is designated as National Wear Red Day, a part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women initiative. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease remains the leading killer of women in the United States.
