A neighborhood bakery and café by day and upscale restaurant and bar by night, 1228 Main, located in Downtown Las Vegas’ Arts District at 1228 S. Main St., has introduced weekend brunch. Showcasing a menu centered around 1228 Main’s freshly baked breads, brunch is now served from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, with a full-service brunch on Sundays.

For those craving breakfast, brunch selections include the breakfast sando made with rosemary focaccia, crisp bacon, griddled eggs, pimento and Tillamook cheddar; Napa Valley smoked salmon, served with a potato latke, dill crème fraiche, salted cucumbers and red onion; Tunisian Shakshuka, a spiced red pepper stew topped with fried eggs and cilantro, served with toasted sourdough; and multi-seed rye topped with fresh avocado, green chile cream cheese and crispy leeks.

Sweet breakfast selections are highlighted by baked croissant French toast, topped with Chantilly cream, drizzled with maple syrup and dusted with powdered sugar; a farmers market fruit plate with whipped coconut cream; and Greek yogurt topped with Harry’s berries, almonds and housemade granola, which is also available as a vegan option upon request.

Lunch selections include the smoked bacon BLT made with mayo, heirloom tomato, iceberg lettuce sandwiched in toasted pullman loaf and served with potato chips; the 1228 Wagyu burger topped with dijonnaise, American cheese, kosher dill and red onion in a brioche bun, served with fries; and sugar snap pea salad made with arugula, Treviso and pecorino cheeses and shaved radish, tossed in a mustard vinaigrette.

 

1228 Main also serves freshly made artisanal pastries and craft coffees such as cortados, macchiatos and flat whites, among others. The pastries highlight seasonal ingredients including an array of danishes, including strawberries and cream, blueberry cream cheese and Swiss bread, filled with custard and chocolate; a market fruit pop tart; and lemon cruffin.

Refreshing brunch cocktails include bottomless mimosas and draft beer, each priced at $30 with a two-hour limit; as well as a paloma, white and red sangria, a bloody mary and spritzes.
