On Saturday, September 19, Rachel Zoe and husband Rodger Berman shopped for a cause at Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s first-ever Super Saturday weekend in Last Vegas at the magnificent Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian & The Palazzo. The couple arrived with kids in tow, looking dapper and ready for a day to help in the fight against ovarian cancer.

Zoe, who wowed in a top and skirt from the Spring 2016 collection of her Rachel Zoe line, spoke about the importance of OCRF in her life, as she attended her third Super Saturday event of the year. She was heard telling guests, “This is such an important cause and something that is near and dear to my heart. I love this event because it brings together two of my favorite things, raising awareness about the cause and fashion.”

Zoe and her family had some quality bonding time at the Grand Canal Shoppes while watching their kids Skyler and Kaius ride the gondolas, before doing a book signing of Zoe’s book “Living in Style.”

“Family is the most important thing to me. My kids have been coming to Super Saturday since they were born because I feel it is important for them to know about the organization and to learn what it means.

Last time Skyler was in Las Vegas he was in my stomach, so he doesn’t remember it,” she joked. “I am excited to share this special event in Las Vegas with him and my whole family.”

The family then headed over to Fashion Show mall where they walked the runway together for a Vegas-style fashion show, stopped by the LEGO store to build some creations and took family pictures in the photo booth.

When asked about her recent Spring Preview and how her collection has evolved she replied, “My style and designing has become much more practical. Since I am a mom now, I really try to make the line more simple and easy to wear everyday  – much different than before I was a mom.”

OCRF partnered with the premier brands at both shopping centers, each donating a portion of sales during the 2-day event to OCRF in support of their research grants and related programs.

“We are so excited to expand to another market and bring even more awareness to ovarian cancer research. Super Saturday has been an amazing way to educate people about the disease while raising dollars towards eradicating it,” said Audra Moran, CEO of OCRF. “We have also loved having Rachel Zoe as a part of our OCRF family with these events and are so pleased she was able to come out to Las Vegas to host this. She is such an amazing supporter of the cause and we feel very lucky that we are able to continue to partner with her.”

In addition to the shopping, the event had a variety of fun and exciting experiences for guests to enjoy including make-up touch-ups by Sephora, a Canyon Ranch SpaClub pop-up spa, a Pepsi Lounge for some cooling refreshments, Pucker Up Beauty Bar, as well as a delectable candy station for some sweet treats decked out in none other than OCRF teal.

“As September is ovarian cancer awareness month this made for the perfect partnership to kick-off fall fashion all while supporting a great cause. Grand Canal Shoppes and Fashion Show are proud to pioneer Super Saturday Las Vegas with a unique twist. We look forward to building on this partnership in years to come,” stated Janet LaFevre, senior marketing manager for Fashion Show and Grand Canal Shoppes.

About Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF):

Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) is the oldest and largest charity in the United States funding ovarian cancer research. Our mission is to fund scientific research that leads to more effective identification, treatment, and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer, as well as related educational and support initiatives. Each year there will be approximately 22,000 new cases of ovarian cancer in the United States, and nearly 15,500 women will die of the disease. Currently there is no effective means of early detection.

Since 1998, OCRF has awarded over $65 million to ovarian cancer researchers around the country. OCRF-sponsored investigators are developing innovative strategies for early detection; exploring the genetics that increase risk for ovarian cancer; understanding the underlying molecular biology of the disease; identifying new and better targets for treatment; and deciphering how and why ovarian cancer spreads, and how to stop it.  OCRF also supports a national program, Woman to Woman, which in 2015 will be providing support through more than 20 hospitals around the country to women in treatment for any gynecologic cancer, as well as their families, by pairing them with survivor volunteers who offer one-on-one emotional support and mentoring.

If you’re interested in joining the fight, there are many ways to help. Make a donation, consider hosting one of our indoor spinning events, Ovarian Cycle, in your hometown, or contact us and we can help you create a fundraiser of your own.  Visit www.ocrf.org to learn more.
