Formula 1 ® legend Sir Jackie Stewart, OBE, will serve as honorary chairman for this year’s One Night for One Drop, returning on November 15, 2023 at Marquee inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The evening creates an exciting start to a historic week in Las Vegas as it welcomes the inaugural FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN SILVER LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX.
The founder of both One Drop Foundation and Cirque du Soleil, Guy Laliberté, alongside MGM Resorts International CEO and President, Bill Hornbuckle, and Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group President of Resident Shows and Affiliate Shows Division, Eric Grilly, will together co-chair this year’s event, which is the single largest fundraising effort for the One Drop Foundation, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing sustainable access to safe water for millions of people in communities facing extreme barriers.
“I am honored to be part of this incredible event which will only add to a thrilling week in Las Vegas with the inaugural race,” said Sir Jackie, OBE, who won 27 Formula 1 races and three Formula 1 World Championships during his career. “Having traveled the world, I know how crucial water security is for all communities and I applaud the incredible work One Drop is doing to help those in need.”
An incomparable evening of dining, dancing, special musical performances, a world-class live auction, and a specially curated wine tasting with top shelf products from world-renowned estates, One Night for One Drop has developed a well-deserved reputation as one of the most unique philanthropic special events in the country. The One Drop Foundation’s mission aims to ensure sustainable access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene for communities facing extreme barriers through innovative partnerships, creativity and the power of art while contributing to climate action. After 15 years of ensuring their mission, the One Drop Foundation’s projects will soon have improved the living conditions of more than 2.7 million people around the world.
Since its inception in 2013, One Night for One Drop has raised more than $40 million to improve the living conditions of the world’s most vulnerable communities and to support life-changing water projects worldwide as well as local Las Vegas water initiatives.
The One Drop Foundation deeply cares about the water challenges in Las Vegas and has been collaborating with several Southern Nevada nonprofits since 2013. Through its fundraising initiatives in Las Vegas, the One Drop Foundation has donated over $1.5M to like-minded organizations including Springs Preserve, DISCOVERY Children’s Museum water education program, Desert Research Institute, and WaterStart. These donations have helped raise awareness as well as educate the community about access to safe water, water conservation, and ongoing water innovations.
