Godsmack and Shinedown to Bring Nation-Wide Tour to Downtown Las Vegas Events Center Friday, August 3

GODSMACK AND SHINEDOWN TO BRING NATION-WIDE TOUR TO DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS EVENTS CENTER FRIDAY, AUGUST 3

Celebrating new albums and decades of music, tickets go on sale Friday, March 23

This summer, rock-lovers in Las Vegas can catch some of the genre’s biggest names when co-headliners, Godsmack and Shinedown, play the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Friday, August 3. The highly-anticipated tour stop will celebrate the spring album releases of both multi-platinum groups.

Local tickets will go on sale Friday, March 23 at 10 a.m. PST. Tickets can be purchased at www.dlvec.com and start at $49 plus applicable fees. Doors for the show open at 7 p.m. and performers take the stage at 8 p.m.

Since smashing their way on to the scene in 1998, Godsmack has been revered as 21st century hard rock titans. To date, they’ve notched a staggering six #1 singles on mainstream rock radio, including “Awake,” “Straight Out of Line,” and “I Stand Alone.” Among multiple Grammy nominations, the group has sold over 20 million records worldwide and unleashed three consecutive albums at #1 on the Billboard Top 200.

Leading the charge for new age rock, multi-platinum, record-breaking band Shinedown has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, has 11 platinum and gold singles and four platinum and gold albums. Every one of the singles released over Shinedown’s nearly two-decade career has ascended to the Top 10 on the rock charts – a feat unmatched by any other rock band. Hailed as a fiery and always exciting live act, the band has racked up countless sold-out tours and festival headlining sets.

When Legends Rise, Godsmack’s first album in four years, is due out April 27 via BMG and marks their debut on the label. The new project comes 20 years after the release of their self-titled debut album. Playing alongside their longtime friends in music, multi-platinum rock band Shinedown recently announced the release of their sixth studio album Attention Attention, out May 4th on Atlantic Records. The record offers thought-provoking lyrics, explosive guitars, unpredictable rhythms and cinematic flourishes in the band’s biggest and boldest chapter yet.

Supporting Godsmack and Shinedown for an electric evening will be New Zealanders, Like A Storm. Led by brothers Chris, Matt, and Kent Brooks, with Zach Wood on drums, the group has become the most successful New Zealand rock band in U.S. radio history.

Known as one of the hardest working bands out there, Like A Storm fought hard to be heard. The New Zealand brothers came to the United States knowing no one, and built a diehard and devoted fan-base by tirelessly touring to promote their debut album, The End of The Beginning with top acts such as Alter Bridge, Shinedown & Creed. In the midst of that whirlwind, the road served as the foundation for their forthcoming sophomore set, and first album for Another Century Records, Awaken The Fire.
While supporting Creed on a summer 2012 run, the band— Chris Brooks [lead vocals, guitar, didgeridoo, keys/programming], Matt Brooks [vocals, lead guitar, keys/programming], and Kent Brooks [bass, vocals, keys/programming]—would immediately retreat to either their dressing room or hotel after each show and begin recording new music until daybreak. This intense work ethic fostered a fertile creative spell for the boys.
“We were growing as a band and getting inspired by life on the road,” Chris explains. “We never stopped writing as we were touring. Our fans were hungry for new music, and we were hungry to put something out. We didn’t want to sit around and wait to see which label came knocking at our door. So, we decided to make the album ourselves, produce it, tour it, and preserve this awesome connection we’re lucky to have with our fans. We made a mobile studio rig and brought it everywhere.”
Cut on the road, their new hit single “Love The Way You Hate Me” began to make waves on its own. Midwest radio station “The Banana” in Flint, MI started spinning it, and it eventually spent four consecutive weeks at #1, owning the station’s “cage match”. Organically, other stations picked up the track, such as KIBZ in Lincoln, adding it to regular rotation. Soon, Sirius XM’s rock station, Octane caught wind of it as well, and it seized #1 on their nationwide Big ‘Uns countdown for five weeks. The single eventually went Top 30 on the US active rock charts, a major achievement for a completely independent band, and making them the first New Zealand group to ever do so.
It’s no surprise though. “Love The Way You Hate Me” slides from a gnashing guitar and entrancing electronic flourishes into a genuinely unshakable refrain. As the musical madness subsides, it breaks into a warped and wild didgeridoo breakdown, heralding the band’s proper arrival.
“The lyrics are important,” Chris goes on. “It’s funny when we walk through a truck stop or pull over at a diner for some food because everybody turns their heads and looks at us. We were in some tiny town, and someone muttered, ‘Freaks’, as we were walking past them. It really stuck with us. It’s such a great thing to be different and have the freedom to live the life you want to live, rather than conforming to everyone’s idea of who you should be. The song’s about being true to yourself.”
As “Love The Way You Hate Me” exploded at airwaves, Century Media reached out and signed the group in 2014. They immediately jumped back into recording, converting a remote lake house in Michigan into a recording studio and self-producing Awaken The Fire. As a result of this approach, Like A Storm fully realized their sound.
“We’re making the music we want to make,” the singer exclaims. “There are no rules when we’re writing except the three of us have to love whatever we’re doing. We push it creatively. We love to see how far we can take things. That’s the sound of Like A Storm.”
Songs like “Six Feet Under” deliver the requisite hard-hitting hooks and kinetic rhythms. Chris adds, “That’s about the ups and downs of life in the music industry. We had come up against wall after wall. But we never gave up. It doesn’t matter what’s in our way. We’ll break through it.”
At the same time, they experimented with “Gangster’s Paradise”. Like A Storm added a torrent of rock ‘n’ roll bombast to the Coolio classic, updating it for a new generation.
“We heard the intro to the song somewhere,” recalls Chris. “We all agreed it’s one of the coolest intros ever. There’s just this dark vibe. We joked like, ‘A band could do a really awesome cover of that song!’ Then, I said, ‘Well, you know we do play in a band. Let’s give it a crack’. The result was awesome. Lyrically, it’s about as far away from our lifestyle as you could possibly get, but it was really fulfilling and freeing creatively. We saw our own musical identity by reinterpreting this song.”
Like A Storm also continue to deliver on the road. They’ve toured with everybody from Alter Bridge and Shinedown to Puddle of Mudd and Drowning Pool, and played high-profile festivals alongside Korn and Five Finger Death Punch. However, they begin their biggest and boldest chapter now.
“Musically, we want to inspire and empower people,” Chris leaves off. “We write songs about the things we feel strongly about, things that really matter to us. It’s amazing that we’ve made an impact. We came from the other side of the world, and we’re living our dream. If that inspires someone, that’s incredible.”

Red Tide Rising at LVCS Saturday November 8th Joining Drowning Pool “UNLUCKY 13″ Tour – In Support Of Their Debut Album ” The Rising”

redtiderisinglvcs
Denver  hard rockers RED TIDE RISING will be hitting LVCS in Las Vegas on November 8th
along with Drowning Pool, Like A Storm and A Breach of Silence
in support of their debut album, The Rising.
redtiderisingband
Matthew Whiteman – Lead vocals, Andrew Whiteman – Guitars
Matt Guerin – Drums, Percussion, Michael LeBois – Bass Guitar

In 2012 Denver upstarts Red Tide Rising slammed into the national music scene when they hit the road in direct support of In This Moment on the band’s non-festival ‘Blood’ tour dates, which also included one date with Hatebreed. “Touring with In This Moment really showed us what it takes to have a successful run on the road,” says guitarist, Andrew Whiteman. “We learned how things work on a larger scale and ‘in the real world,’ so to speak. It was a great learning experience for sure.”

The band has since gone onto destroy stages alongside Gemini Syndrome, Nonpoint, 3 Pill Morning, Hurt, Soil, Kyng and My Darkest Days.

The band struck a deal with a small independent label, Spat! Records, for a digital release of, initially, their single, “Finding Home” and then their sophomore effort, Inferno, (which was produced by a then 19 year old Andrew Whiteman). A portion of the sales from “Finding Home” are donated to the suicide prevention organization, Out of the Darkness. According to guitarist Andrew Whiteman. “This is our way to give back to a great cause in the community and to help prevent future tragedies.”

In early 2013, Red Tide Rising returned to the studio to record the full length album, The Rising, working with producers Mike McAree, (In This Moment engineer) and Jeff Kanan (Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Randy Jackson, Staind, Rick Rubin and others). To get a feel for how the new material would be received the band decided to release three ‘tastemaker” singles on iTunes in advance of the album. The three singles, “The Rising,” “Cold” and “2:13” all exploded creating a huge demand for the new album. Front man, Matthew Whiteman says, “The ‘tastemaker’ singles were released because we wanted to give a preview of the album that was in the works. We chose to release three songs that would showcase the different intensities of the album.”

While waiting for The Rising to drop, to quench their fans thirst for new material the quartet hit the road regionally doing a few headlining shows throughout the Southwest and the Midwest. Andrew reports, “All the shows we have been playing lately have been great! We have had great energy from the crowds and they have all seemed to take a liking to the new material we brought to the live show. It’s very reassuring!”

With The Rising, the band (some of whom are still in their teens) have delivered a thirteen song masterpiece that reflect a band working on a maturity level far beyond their actual years. “”2:13” was an older track from when we did the ‘Inferno’ sessions that never made it to the disc, so we wanted to include it this time,” reflects Andrew Whiteman, “”The Otherside” was one of the first songs we wrote for the album that we all participated in, and one of the first using MIDI for us as well. “Cold” is one of my favorite tracks off the record. It has a nice slow boil to it that makes it such a cool track (no pun intended)! And finally, “The Rising” is our anthem. It’s all about what we believe in as a band and working together to achieve greatness.”

In 2014 Red Tide Rising will continue their domination of concert stages across North America and they have their sights set on a European trek later in the year. “To cross over into the European markets would be an amazing event for Red Tide Rising. It has been one of our goals to play in markets overseas,” says Matthew.

The Rising was released Oct 2013 through Deathbox Records and distributed worldwide via Vanity Music Group.
