Tropicana Las Vegas Welcomes 64th Miss Rodeo America Pageant To The Stage December 2-9, 2018




Grab your cowboy hats and boots y’all because the Miss Rodeo America Pageant is coming to Tropicana Las Vegas this December 2-9, 2018. The seven-day contest will return to Las Vegas and will feature over 30 contestants all competing for the coveted title of 64th Miss Rodeo America.

Set to take place at inside Tropicana Theater, Miss Rodeo America will be held in conjunction with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Reigning State Rodeo Queens will enter to win the sought-after crown by competing in the areas of appearance, horsemanship and personality. Offering young women the opportunity to garner one of the richest experiences of their lives, Miss Rodeo America allows contestants to make lifelong friendships and be a part of a great legacy.

Guests are invited to join the audience for Miss Rodeo America and welcome back to the stage last year’s winner, Kerri Sheffield, to crown the new 2019 Miss Rodeo America. The winner will receive more than $20,000 in scholarships and become the official representative of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association while appearing at more than 120 rodeo performances as well as schools, children’s hospitals, civic groups and other events to educate the public about the sport of rodeo.

NEW Crown Royal Gold Buckle Zone
The “Home of the Champions” will introduce a bigger and “grander” Crown Royal Gold Buckle Zone for rodeo fans looking to experience the 2015 edition of the National Finals Rodeo. In its new location in the MGM Grand Conference Center, this year’s Gold Buckle Zone will provide a nightly party fans will not want to miss in a space that is even bigger than before. Activities include live feeds of the rodeo, fashion shows, dancing, a mechanical bull and an exciting lineup of live country music. Admission is complimentary so rope a partner (or two!) and prepare for a boot-stomping good time.

Although the live music will end, the non-stop entertainment at the Gold Buckle Zone won’t! 2015 Home of the Champions Cowboys Autograph Sessions
MGM Grand is not only the official hotel of the Tie-Down Roping competitors, but it houses the most Gold Buckles under one roof. There are 20 athletes who comprise the elite Home of the Champions Cowboys roster including 22-time World Champion Trevor Brazile and reigning PRCA World Champions Kaycee Feild (Bareback Riding, 2011 – 2014) and Tuf Cooper (Tie Down Roping, 2011-2012 and 2014). Additional Home of the Champions cowboys include Sage Kimzey, Will Lowe, Bobby Mote, Cody Ohl, Stran Smith, Cody Teel, Mary Walker and rodeo legend and eight-time World Champion Fred Whitfield, among many others.

Meet all of the athletes when they stop by MGM Grand’s Main Lobby to sign autographs and meet fans. Autograph sessions are scheduled Friday, Dec. 4 and Friday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

“Wrangler NFR Countdown Show” & Wrangler NFR Live Satellite Feed
MGM Grand will offer guests the opportunity to watch each NFR round live at the Wrangler Network Theater inside the Gold Buckle Zone beginning at 6:45 p.m. nightly. Fans in attendance will enjoy drink specials, door prizes and giveaways. Seating is first-come, first-served.

The Wrangler Network Theatre also will be the location of the “Wrangler NFR Countdown Show” hosted by 2008 World Champion Tie-Down Roper Stran Smith and his wife Jennifer, a TV journalist specializing in rodeo and a former Miss Rodeo America. The popular husband and wife duo will offer a behind-the-scenes perspective of the National Finals Rodeo as they analyze the nightly stock draw, predict round winners and interview rodeo legends, musical artists and more. The show will take place December 3 – 12 from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. nightly. 

Rodney Carrington
As part of his Here Comes The Truth tour, comedian, actor and writer Rodney Carrington will perform his hilarious stand-up comedy routine at the David Copperfield Theater December 3 – 12 at 10 p.m. nightly. Rodeo Week at Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club
Emmy Award-winning comedian and actor Brad Garrett brings top-quality comedy to MGM Grand with his intimate 250-seat comedy club. During the National Finals Rodeo, the venue will feature country-themed comedians Steve McGrew, Sam Fedele, and Drew Thomas who will perform December 1 – 6. Garrett will perform with Cowboy Bill Martin and Quinn Patterson December 7 – 13. All shows are scheduled at 8 p.m. nightly. This show contains adult content and is not recommended for guests under 21 years of age.

New to MGM Grand’s National Finals Rodeo activities is the Boot Barn Christmas Corral.  The shopping experience will be located inside the Marquee Ballroom Thursday, Dec. 3 – Sunday, Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. 2016 Miss Rodeo America Pageant
As the host hotel of the Miss Rodeo America Pageant, MGM Grand will be the location of the eight-day competition November 29 – December 6 that concludes with the crowning of the 2016 Miss Rodeo America.
