Legendary Motown Group The Temptations Return to The Orleans Showroom April 26-27

The Temptations – Otis Williams, Bruce Williamson, Terry Weeks, Ron Tyson and Joe Herndon – will bring classic Motown back to The Orleans Showroom April 26 and 27.

For more than 40 years, The Temptations have shined as pioneers of popular music, with decades of smash hits and sold-out performances. An essential component of the original Motown machine invented by Berry Gordy, The Temptations began their musical career in Detroit in the early ‘60s. In 1964, Smokey Robinson wrote and produced “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” the first major hit for The Temptations. An avalanche of hits followed, including “My Girl,” “It’s Growing,” “Since I Lost My Baby,” “Get Ready,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Beauty Is Only Skin Deep” and “I Wish It Would Rain.”

Beyond their fabulous singing, The Temptations became known for smooth stepping and flawless presentations. “The Temptation Walk” became the staple of American style, flair, flash and class.

When the ‘60s and ‘70s turned political, The Temptations got serious. They changed their tone, dress and music with such hits as “Runaway Child,” “Cloud Nine,” “I Can’t Get Next To You,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” and “Psychedelic Shack.” The Temptations explosion continued in the ’80s with their appearance on “Motown 25” in 1983, and into the ’90s with an NBC mini-series in 1998 that chronicled the group’s early days and rise to fame, earning them a coveted Emmy® Award. In 2012, the group performed on “Dancing with the Stars” as part of Motown Week.

Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are available starting from $34.95, plus tax and convenience fees, and can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming Box Office, by calling 702.365.7075, or visiting www.orleanscasino.com.

HUMAN NATURE SET FOR A NIGHT OF MOTOWN MAGIC AS LIVING LEGENDS COME TOGETHER TO TAKE IN SPECIAL PERFORMANCE

Music icons Mary Wilson, Otis Williams and Duke Fakir will attend the May 30 show

Human Nature is gearing up for a historic night of Motown magic as they prepare to perform for legendary artists Mary Wilson (The Supremes), Otis Williams (The Temptations) and Duke Fakir (The Four Tops). The musicians whose music inspired the Australian quartet’s Motown show will be in attendance Thursday, May 30 for Smokey Robinson Presents Human Nature: The Motown Show at The Venetian Las Vegas.

For one special night, audience members are invited to be seated among the Motown royalty who inspired Human Nature’s acclaimed show, produced by SPI Entertainment.

Formed in 1989 when brothers Andrew and Michael Tierney teamed up with schoolmates Toby Allen and Phil Burton to represent their local high school in a combined regional schools concert, Human Nature then called themselves The Four Trax, a nod to Duke Fakir’s The Four Tops.

After changing their name to Human Nature, the soulful singers went on to release nine albums, five of which went to #1 in their native continent, selling millions of records world-wide and garnering 23 platinum awards, 70 Top 40 hits and five Top 10 hits. Their chart-topping Motown tribute, Reach Out, went five-times-platinum, attracting the attention of famed songwriter Smokey Robinson, who recorded “Get Ready” with them and ultimately became a presenter of their Motown show in Las Vegas.

The group toured nationally in the U.S. in 2012, scored a #1 position on the Motown Charts and released their latest Motown CD and DVD following their PBS TV special in 2011.

Smokey Robinson Presents Human Nature: The Motown Show performs nightly Thursday – Monday (dark Tuesday, Wednesday) at 7p.m. Ticket prices are set at Reserved $59.95, Preferred $79.95 and VIP $99.95 (plus tax and handling fee – VIP ticket price also includes a commemorative CD). Tickets can be purchased at The Venetian Box Office, by visiting www.Venetian.com or by calling (702) 414-9000.
