Single-game tickets for UNLV men’s basketball for the 2019-20 season are now on sale.
 
An exclusive window began Thursday for season ticket holders to purchase single-game tickets online for the 2019-20 season, but now they are available for purchase by the general public online, over the phone and in person.
 

UNLV’s schedule in head coach T.J. Otzelberger’s first season leading the Runnin’ Rebels includes non-conference home games at the Thomas & Mack Center against defending Big 12 champion Kansas State, SMU, and Mountain West opponents San Diego State, UNR and New Mexico.

Mini-plans are also available for purchase now. Mini-plans include games against Kansas State, SMU, New Mexico, San Diego State and UNR with a meal provided at each game. Mini-plans are available in select Lower Bowl areas and include access to the ticket exchange program.

The Runnin’ Rebels will play an exhibition game at the Thomas & Mack Center on Friday, October 25, at 7p.m. vs. West Coast Baptist before opening up the regular season at home on Tuesday, Nov. 5, vs. Purdue Fort Wayne.

Rebels shoot second-best team round on Sunday, Jonson ties
for sixth individually at National Invitational Tournament

The No. 23 UNLV men’s golf team shot the second-best round (8-under-par 280) of the day on Sunday and finished in a tie for fourth place at the National Invitational Tournament, which was played at OMNI Tucson National (par 72, 7,200 yards).

California captured the team title at 33-under 831 after a final-round 6-under 282. The Bears finished 15 shots ahead of Oklahoma State and SMU, which both tied for second at 18-under. UNLV tied with San Diego State at 13-under and were followed in sixth place by New Mexico at 11-under.

Individually, California’s Joel Stalter shot 6-under 66 on Sunday to earn medalist honors by three shots at 11-under 205. Oklahoma State’s Wyndham Clark and SMU’s Bryson Dechambeau and Harry Higgs all tied for second at 8-under.

UNLV junior Carl Jonson led all Rebel players with a tie for sixth at 6-under 210 after a final-round 2-under 70. Sophomore AJ McInerney also finished in the top 10, tying for 10th at 4-under 212 after a final-round 5-under 67.

Other Rebels: sophomore Zane Thomas tied for 14th at 3-under 213 after a final-round 1-under 71, while junior Kirt Kitayama and freshman Taylor Montgomery both tied for 49th at 5-over 221. Kitayama shot even-par 72 on Sunday, while Montgomery was 4-over. Freshman Chris Tuulik, who competed as an individual, tied for 17th at 2-under 214 after a final-round 1-under 71.

The tournament featured 14 teams and 81 individuals. The Rebels will be back in action Monday-Tuesday of this week, March 17-18, at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Primm, Nev. Live scoring will be available on the internet courtesy of Golfstat through a link at UNLVRebels.com.

NO. 23 UNLV MEN’S GOLF TO PLAY IN TUCSON THIS WEEKEND

National Invitational Tournament will be held Friday-Sunday, March 14-16

The No. 23 UNLV men’s golf team is in Tucson, Ariz., for the National Invitational Tournament, which will be played at Omni Tucson National Golf Club’s Catalina Course (par 72, 7,094 yards) on Friday-Sunday, March 14-16.

The 14-school, 54-hole tournament will consist of 18 holes played each day beginning at 8 a.m. MT. This year’s field is made up of Arizona, California, Marquette, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, San Diego, San Diego State, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, UNLV, UTEP and Wyoming.

The Rebels’ lineup includes junior Kurt Kitayama, junior Carl Jonson, sophomore AJ McInerney, freshman Taylor Montgomery and sophomore Zane Thomas. Freshman Chris Tuulik will compete as an individual. UNLV finished ninth (out of 16 teams) at last year’s NIT at 5-over 869. New Mexico won the team title by one shot at 20-under, while individual medalist honors were captured by TCU’s Julien Brun by a stroke at 8-under. Kitayama was the Rebels’ top finisher as he tied for 22nd at even par.

UNLV is coming off its second victory of the season, a team win at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in Las Vegas on March 9. Golfweek named UNLV its National Team of the Week after the win at the prestigious tournament, which annually features one of the toughest fields in college golf. Last weekend’s event included seven of the top-10 ranked teams in the country. In addition, 11 of the 15 teams competing were ranked in the top 20 and all participants were among the nation’s top 50. The field also featured 20 of the top-30 ranked individuals.

The victory was UNLV’s second in three years at the event, fifth in the last seven and seventh in the last 10. Kitayama tied for second individually, while Jonson also finished in the top-10 in a tie for eighth.

The UNLV men’s golf team will travel to Tucson, Ariz., for the Don Puckette National Invitational Tournament, which will be played at Omni Tucson National Golf Club (par 72, 7,094 yards) on Saturday-Sunday, March 16-17.

The 16-school, 54-hole tournament will consist of 36 holes played on Saturday and a final round of 18 holes taking place on Sunday. This year’s field is made up of Arizona, Arkansas, Hawaii, Long Beach State, Nevada, Reno, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, San Diego, San Diego State, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, UNLV, UTEP and Wyoming. Play will begin at 8 a.m. MT each day.

The Rebels’ lineup includes senior Kevin Penner, junior Blake Biddle, freshman AJ McInerney, and sophomores Kurt Kitayama and Carl Jonson.

UNLV finished second (out of 12 teams) at last year’s NIT at 4-under 860, one shot back of team champion San Diego State. Penner turned in the Rebels’ best individual performance at 2-under, which tied for third place, 13 shots behind individual medalist J.J. Spaun from San Diego State.

In its last tournament, UNLV finished ninth at its own Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters, which had a 15-team field including nine of the nation’s top-10 ranked teams. In seven events this season, UNLV has finished in the top four on four occasions.
