Using music as an outlet for personal release, Kehlani quickly garnered attention receiving her first GRAMMY nod for her 2015 mixtape, “You Should Be Here.” Without sugarcoating or softening a word, Kehlani went on to release her debut studio album, “SweetSexySavage,” in 2017 with her second full-length album to follow in 2020. “It Was Good Until It Wasn’t” debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200, detailing her own real experiences as a first-time mother.
