THE MOB MUSEUM TO HOST VIRTUAL PANEL FOR 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF JOHN F. KENNEDY ASSASSINATION

The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, will host a panel of the nation’s foremost experts addressing the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy 60 years after the historic event took place. To be held virtually on Thursday, Nov. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. PT, the panel will include conversations about Lee Harvey Oswald’s impetus to kill the president, the Cuban connections to Oswald’s deadly act, why Jack Ruby shot Oswald and more.

The panelists also will address recent claims by former Secret Service agent Paul Landis, who was standing on the running board next to President Kennedy when he was shot.

Experts weighing in during the discussion:

Gus Russo is a John F. Kennedy assassination researcher and author of “Brothers in Arms: The Kennedys, the Castros, and the Politics of Murder” and “Live by the Sword: The Secret War Against Castro and the Death of JFK.” Russo was also part of the team of researchers who worked on the 1993 PBS documentary “Who Was Lee Harvey Oswald?”

Alecia Long is a history professor at Louisiana State University and author of “Cruising for Conspirators: How a New Orleans DA Prosecuted the Kennedy Assassination as a Sex Crime.” She is an expert in New Orleans district attorney Jim Garrison’s decision to arrest Clay Shaw, the only prosecution undertaken in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Burt Griffin served as assistant counsel to the President’s Commission on the Assassination of President Kennedy, also known as the Warren Commission, in 1964. He retired in 2005 after 30 years on the bench as a judge for the Common Pleas Court of Cuyahoga County, Ohio. He is also the author of “JFK, Oswald and Ruby: Politics, Prejudice and Truth.”

Dale Myers is a John F. Kennedy assassination researcher and author of “With Malice: Lee Harvey Oswald and the Murder of Officer JD Tippit.” In 2004, he was honored with an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his computer-animated recreation of the Kennedy assassination featured in ABC News’ 40th anniversary television special.

Fred Litwin is the author of “Oliver Stone’s Film-Flam: The Demagogue of Dealey Plaza,” which debunks conspiracy theorists and proves there was only one gunman in the assassination of John F. Kennedy: Lee Harvey Oswald. Litwin is also a contributor for several national Canadian news outlets, including the National Post, Ottawa Citizen and the Toronto. He also regularly shares findings related to the assassination, including recent claims by former Secret Service agent Paul Landis, on his blog onthetrailofdelusion.com.

Geoff Schumacher, vice president of exhibits and programs for The Mob Museum, will moderate the discussion.

The event is virtual and will be available to view here.
