Bellagio Executive Chef Edmund Wong to Delight Guests with Interactive Beer & BBQ Luncheon

Wong and Bellagio Master Mixologist Ricardo Murcia to Host Event Saturday, June 20 at Noon

 

Bellagio Executive Chef Edmund Wong will demonstrate the art of creating an extraordinary barbeque menu at the popular Beer & BBQ Epicurean Epicenter event Saturday, June 20 at noon on the Monet Patio. The fun and interactive lunch will teach guests about grilling, including tips of the trade and ideal beer pairing options. Exclusive artisanal craft beer selections will be presented by Bellagio’s Master Mixologist Ricardo Murcia as he guides diners through each carefully selected pairing.

The afternoon will begin with a cocktail reception of hand-passed hors d’oeuvres such as Grilled Lobster and Potato with beurre fondue; Wild Strawberry topped with burrata and micro basil; and Grilled Chicken and Chorizo with a citrus gremolata glaze. Additionally, Murcia’s Illusive cocktail, mixed with Illusive Traveler Grapefruit Shandy, grapefruit juice, house-made ginger ale and grapefruit bitters, will be available to whet guests’ palates.

The adventure continues with the first course of Toy Box Tomato, created with watermelon, baby mint, fresh ricotta and raspberry vinegar. The main course will tempt taste buds with a BBQ trio that includes:

  • Crispy Pork Shank served with red cabbage and apple coleslaw; paired with Brouwerij Rodenbach Caractére Rouge, a Belgium Sour Red Ale made with cranberries, raspberries and sour cherries aged in oak vats
  • Dry Aged Double Chop Tomahawk topped with a caramelized black pepper glaze; paired with Cellar Aged Vintage Alaskan Smoked Porter
  • <Frankfurters and Hot Links with grainy mustard; paired with Firestone Walker Pivo Hoppy Pils

Flavorful side dishes to complement the main course will include fried cauliflower with lemon and fenugreek; honey butter biscuits; broccoli salad; grilled heirloom carrots; and asparagus and egg. The epicurean affair will end on a sweet note with warm apple pockets paired with Angry Orchard Iceman Hard Ice Cider.
