MARQUEE NIGHTCLUB & DAYCLUB
AT THE COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGAS
JULY 2011

Saturday, July 2
DIRTY SOUTH + AVICII @ Dayclub
Remixed and specially edited versions of his classics have just been released on the compilation ‘Strictly Dirty South,’ but this Serbian-Australian DJ is far from slowing down. Known for his Grammy-nominated remix of Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition” with Axwell last year, Dirty South returns to Marquee every month for his epic Starphazing residency, which continues to showcase his signature dark house sound among stunning visuals and costumed dancers — see it for yourself in “Dirty South at Marquee Las Vegas” on YouTube.

Dirty South is joined by Avicii, who has established himself as one of the leaders of electronic dance music, after having won the International Dance Music Award for Best Breakthrough Solo Artist and being named Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2010 by Tiësto. Avicii lives up to his hype, smashing remix after remix and establishing himself as a cornerstone of house music with his original sound, which can be previewed on his Soundcloud. “It’s just amazing to see how much EDM is growing in the States in general, especially in Vegas” he says of his frequent dates at Marquee. Watch the full interview “Avicii at Marquee Nightclub Las Vegas” on YouTube.

Saturday, July 2
ERICK MORILLO with Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano @ Nightclub
A regular in the Top 5 on Beatport, Erick Morillo’s newly released single “Stronger” featuring Eddie Thoneick and Shawnee Taylor from his 2010 album, ‘Live Your Life,’ promises to soundtrack the summer. After launching his own label Subliminal in 1997, Morillo now has a regular Sessions Podcast, while continuing to fill dance floors worldwide. Known especially for his Subliminal Sessions residency in Ibiza every summer, Morillo faithfully returns to Vegas for Subliminal Sessions at Marquee — a futuristic affair featuring spectacular custom videos and glow-in-the-dark costumed dancers. (Take a peek with “Marquee Las Vegas: Erick Morillo” on YouTube.)

Opening the night are Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, an energetic Dutch duo who match soulful vocals with deep and funky house. When not performing all over the globe, they can be found in their Amsterdam studio coming up with one dancefloor destroyer after another. Their 2008 debut tracks include “Pina” and “Lift U Up feat. Reese & Chappell,” after which Steve Angello scooped up “Traffic” and “Snitch” for release on his Size Records label. The duo has also made several remixes for the likes of Sander Kleinenberg (“This Is Our Night”), Kaskade (“Dynasty”) and Diplo ft. Busta Rhymes (“C’mon”).

With his debut turning into a truly unique experience due to crazy weather (watch the event unfold in “Fatboy Slim at Marquee Las Vegas” on YouTube), the ever-intrepid Fatboy Slim is ready to bring the spirit of Brighton Beach back to the Strip again. With exclusive re-edits of his iconic tracks (think “The Rockafeller Skank” meets The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction”) and a no-holds-barred musical approach that takes in everything from Latin Samba to big-room house, Fatboy Slim’s July Take Over will be where the fireworks really are on Independence Day Weekend.

With his raw, up-beat, and straight-from-the-streets personality, Eric D-Lux continues to drop mixtapes (which have gained recognition from XXL Magazine and MTV), run the underground scene and bring dancefloor destroyers to Marquee Las Vegas every Monday. But don’t be fooled into thinking he’s a one-act show: “Personally,” he says, “I think I’m a better dancer than I am a DJ. I’ve been DJing 13 years; I’ve been dancing 14 years.” Watch his moves in “Eric D-Lux Marquee Monday: Watch Me Dance” on YouTube.

That’s been the theme: Let yourself go, come here, and enjoy.” he says. Towards that end, he has surprised the crowd with guests like vocalist Skylar Grey, and continues to build and refine his residency over time. (Check out the “Skylar Grey performs with Kaskade at Marquee Las Vegas” on YouTube). With a solid spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs, Kaskade also has several number one iTunes singles and earned headline billing at major music festivals around the world. With an infectious energy behind the decks and a niche for producing some of the world’s most explosive progressive and electro-trance tunes, Randy Boyer is one of the most established and sought-after DJs and producers in the United States. Outfitted with his own production studio, Boyer has carved himself a permanent position in the electronic dance music scene with numerous chart topping singles for music moguls at Ultra, Armada Music, Flashover, Vandit, Coldharbour, A State of Trance, Def Jam, Arista and Warner Brothers. In addition to his impressive DJ career, Boyer also joined forces with the late Eric Tadla and created the legendary duo EnMass, whose ground breaking production, “CQ (Seek You)” was dubbed by Armin van Buuren himself as “one of his favorite trance classics ever made.” A true veteran of the game, Boyer is also the co-owner of EnMass Music, a brand new record label he launched with his good friend and industry partner, Darude.

SEBASTIAN INGROSSO + BT @ Nightclub
A member of the infamous Swedish House Mafia with Axwell and Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso is responsible (along with Dirty South and David Guetta) for “How Soon Is Now,” which has become a modern day vocal house classic. His additional hit tracks include “Leave The World Behind,” an amazing re-edit of “Swimming Places” from Julian Jabre on Defected, a searing remix of “Jack You” with Steve Angello for Diddy and Felix (which was approved by Sean Combs himself) and many more. Last year Ingrosso co-wrote and co-produced “Cupid Boy,” one of the key electronic anthems on Kylie Minogues’s new number 1 album, further establishing his position as one of the world’s biggest dance music masters. Just recently, Swedish House Mafia debuted their epic remix of Coldplays’ new single “Every Teardrop is Waterfull,” which became an instant mega hit. After the amazing achievements of the past few years, Ingrosso’s ambition and talent show no signs of abating. He is joined at Nightclub by BT.

CHRIS LAKE @ Dayclub
In the last five years, Chris Lake has traveled the globe as a DJ and topped industry charts numerous times as a producer, all while chasing down the freshest beats around as a music lover. His previous singles “Changes,” “Only One” and “If You Knew” have all cracked the top ten on Billboard’s U.S. “Hot Dance Airplay” chart with 2007’s “Carry Me Away” topping the chart at #1. In 2010, Lake collaborated with good friend Deadmau5 for a Michael Woods remix of the song “I Said” which Pete Tong dubbed the first “Essential New Tune of the Decade.” He recently released “Secrets in the Dark,” an infectiously groovy house anthem, on his own imprint Rising Music. The track is available for free download on his Soundcloud.
