Three Square Food Bank, Walmart and Feeding America Launch “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” Campaign to Combat Hunger in Southern Nevada

Throughout April, online acts of support, purchases of participating products and donations at Walmart registers can help Feeding America secure at least 200 million meals on behalf of local member food banks

She or he may be a distant relative or your next door neighbor, but chances are you know one of the estimated more than 279,000 people who struggle with food insecurity in Southern Nevada. From April 2 through April 30, Las Vegas residents can make a real difference in the lives of local individuals and families.

Walmart, Feeding America and Three Square kicked off the fifth annual nationwide “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” campaign online and in stores today. Walmart and Feeding America are doubling their meal goal to help secure at least 200 million meals, increasing supplier participation to 14, and introducing the Walmart Credit Card as a new way for customers to get involved in the campaign. In another first, Walmart is uniting with social networking site, Nextdoor, to drive conversations in local communities across the nation on ways they can combat hunger.

“We are extremely grateful for our partnership with Walmart and their commitment to supporting Three Square in the fight against hunger in Southern Nevada,” said Three Square Food Bank President and CEO Brian Burton. “This campaign will help increase awareness about the issue of hunger in our community, allowing us to secure more local funds and ultimately provide more food to people in need in Southern Nevada. We hope people across the valley will take action and participate in the campaign.”

Forum Shops Announces Second Annual Great Give

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, Luxury Magazine and Retailers Join Forces for Second Annual GREAT GIVE in Support of Numerous Non-Profits Dec. 1-15
Local Charities, Shops and Restaurants including Links of London, Mulberry, Sandro, Anne Fontaine, Hugo Boss, Donald J Pliner, Charlotte Olympia and more with a Variety of Non-Profits including American Red Cross, Candlelighters, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Make-A-Wish and others
  In the spirit of the season, The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace presents its second annual GREAT GIVE from Dec. 1-15. Partnering a number of its world-renowned retailers with a variety of local and national non-profits the two-week shopping event benefits a wide variety of charities and causes. Each participating retailer has a designated charity and will either donate a portion of sales from specific items, donate a flat percentage of sales or raise funds directly to benefit their partner charity.
“It was wonderful to see so many our retailers supporting charitable organizations and giving back last year,” said Maureen Crampton, Director of Business Development and Marketing at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. “This year, by partnering with our friends at Luxury Magazine and presenting a united program under the umbrella of the GREAT GIVE, we are able to collectively promote it and encourage guests to shop at their favorite shops and support many worthy causes during this time.”
*Participating retailers and their non-profit partners enjoyed a kick-off reception at The Palm Las Vegas inside The Forum Shops on Thursday, November 16th to mark the occasion.
