The Las Vegas 51s PROFESSIONAL baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will open a seven-game homestand against the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, on Tuesday, August 28. The season-ending homestand will mark the final games in Cashman Field history for Triple-A professional baseball. Las Vegas will host Tacoma in a three-game series through Thursday, August 30 and a four-game series against the Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, from Friday-Monday, August 31 – September 3.  All games are at 7:05 p.m. except for Labor Day at 12:05 p.m.

The 51s, under manager Tony DeFrancesco, are concluding the final road trip of the season on Monday evening in Northern California against Sacramento.

The 51s organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada.

            2018 CASHMAN FIELD ATTENDANCE: In 63 dates, Las Vegas total is 288,415 for an average of 4,578. The season-high crowd is 9,321 vs. Salt Lake on July 3 for the Fireworks Extravaganza!  The Las Vegas franchise is 11,585 fans away from reaching the 300,000 mark in “home” attendance for the 36th consecutive season (1983-2018). The all-time attendance total now stands at 11,957,202.

HOMETOWN HEROES NIGHT – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

Fan Appreciation Night and Vegas Golden Knights Baseball Jersey Night, to the first 2,500 fans through the gates, will be featured on Hometown Heroes Night in game two of the four-game series vs. the River Cats.

This year’s Hometown Heroes Night will be dedicated to the heroes and victims of October 1.

The 51s will host a preliminary GUNS AND HOSES SOFTBALL GAME at 5 p.m., pitting local police agencies against local firefighters. All ticket holders will be able to come inside and watch the first responder showdown, and then stay for the rest of the festivities.

At 5 p.m., there will be a static display of emergency service and patrol vehicles parked in front of Cashman Field for attendees to tour and learn about the types of vehicles and technology used to keep our community safe.

The 51s organization will conduct a special pre-game ceremony dedicated to recognize, support and to thank our emergency service providers including the police, fire and emergency medical providers of Southern Nev

The “Color Guard Ceremony” will feature members of the Police and Fire Departments and including ceremonial first pitches for individuals who will be honored for their acts of heroism.

Individual police officers, firefighters and emergency personnel who have dedicated their lives to helping others will be acknowledged during the pre-game ceremony.

The 51s will have a special “thank you” announcement for the families of our local Hometown Heroes.

The first homestand of the 2018 campaign will consist of a five-game series against the Chihuahuas from Thursday-Monday, April 5-9.  All games will begin at 7:05 p.m. except for Sunday, April 8 at 12:05 p.m.

El Paso has captured three straight Pacific Southern Division titles (2015-17) and won the PCL championship in 2016, defeated Oklahoma City Dodgers, 3-games-to-1.

Following the first homestand, the 51s will embark on the first road trip of the season beginning on Tuesday, April 10 in Albuquerque, N.M., against the Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.  The three-game series against Albuquerque will conclude on Thursday, April 12.  Las Vegas will then continue the seven-game road trip to El Paso, with a four-game series, from Friday-Monday, April 13-16.

Game four of the series on Sunday, April 8 will feature a matinee contest on Little League Day #1/SUNdays at the Ballpark, presented by Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada.  Selected 51s players will be available to sign pre-game autographs for the Little League teams in attendance.  In addition, all children will have the opportunity to “Run the Bases” after the contest (with proper shoe attire).

The finale of the five-game homestand on April 9 will welcome the return of “Smith’s Value Menu Monday.”  Monday “home” games will feature a “Value Menu” for the 10th straight season!  The 51s and Centerplate have teamed together for discounted food items on Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Peanuts, Cracker Jacks and Pretzels for just $1.00 per item.

The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will open an eight-game homestand on Saturday, August 19 against the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, at Cashman Field at 7:05 p.m.  The four-game series against the Bees will conclude on Tuesday, August 22. The next scheduled off day for the PCL is Wednesday, August 23.  Las Vegas will then host intrastate rival, the Reno Aces, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, in a four-game series from Thursday-Sunday, August 24-27.  All eight games on the homestand will begin at 7:05 p.m.

The 51s, under first-year manager Pedro Lopez, are currently on an eight-game road trip in Northern California against the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, that will conclude on Friday, August 18.

2017 CASHMAN FIELD ATTENDANCE: In 59 dates, Las Vegas’ total is 295,715 for an average of 5,012.  Las Vegas has recorded five sellouts: 9,872 for Star Wars Night/Fireworks on April 28 vs. Albuquerque; season-high crowd of 10,342 for the Smokers Strike Out 14th Annual School Day Game on May 3 vs. Tacoma; 9,559 for the Fireworks/Nevada Donor Network Donate Life Night on May 5 vs. Tacoma; 9,353 for the Fireworks Extravaganza on July 4 vs. El Paso; 10,520 for the Kids Night Out/51s Cooler Bag on August 5 vs. Oklahoma City. The Las Vegas franchise is 4,285 fans shy of reaching the 300,000 plateau in “home” attendance for the 35th consecutive season (1983-2017). The all-time attendance total now stands at 11,605,443.  The 51s organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada.

            Kris Bryant Bobblehead Night, presented by CSN, will be featured in the opener of the homestand on Saturday, August 19. The first 2,500 fans through the gates (open at 6 p.m.), will receive a Bryant Bobblehead in a Bonanza High School uniform.

LAS VEGAN KRIS BRYANT: The 2010 graduate of Bonanza High School was the 2016 National League Most Valuable Player and helped lead the Chicago Cubs to the World Series championship for the first time in 108 years (1908)!  The ’16 MVP batted .292 (176-for-603) with 77 extra-base hits (35 doubles, 39 HR) and 102 RBI. He became just the second Cub to ever reach 35 home runs in his age-24 season, joining Ernie Banks.  He earned 2015 Sporting News & BBWAA National League Rookie of the Year honors.

SCE Federal Credit Union presents “Drive it out of the Park” sweepstakes on Saturday, August 19.

51s fans will have the opportunity to “sign up” at the game at one of the three SCE Federal Credit Union tables located in the concourse level. The three contestants will then be selected from those entries to compete in the contest.

The contest will take place at the end of the 7th inning on the field. The three contestants will roll specialty dice and if the “SCE Logo” appears on all the dice, the contestant will win $25,000 toward a vehicle from Findlay Chevy.

The 51s, in conjunction with Minor League Baseball, will present “Peanut-Free Night” on Sunday, August 20 in game two of the four-game series. MiLB, on August 3, announced the partnership with Auvi-Q and its food allergy awareness campaign.

MiLB Es Divertido Ser Un Fan – “It’s Fun To Be A Fan Campaign” at Cashman Field on Tuesday, August 22:

The 51s will transform to the Las Vegas Reyes de Plata (“Silver Kings”) for the third time in 2017 (1-1 record). The Reyes de Plata will wear special hats and jerseys for the contest vs. Salt Lake.

MiLB (on July 24) launched Es Divertido Ser Un Fan, a new multi-cultural fan engagement platform aimed at specifically connecting with Hispanic/Latino baseball fans in 160 markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. The program debuted in August in select MiLB markets, including Las Vegas, Charlotte, North Carolina; Kane County, Illinois; and Visalia, California, with a national expansion planned for 2018.

The Las Vegas Reyes de Plata will take the field celebrating the city and state’s pioneering history at the forefront of the precious metal mining business that continues to define the Silver State today.

“The Reyes de Plata name plays off the fact that Nevada is the Silver State and embraces the impact and history that the Hispanic/Latino community had early in the precious metals mining industry that ultimately made Nevada state-worthy during the final months of the Civil War. The Tuesday re-branding that will occur during August games is something that is unique in professional sports and goes beyond one-off heritage nights,” said 51s General Manager/VP of Sales & Marketing Chuck Johnson.

SILVER STATE DIAMOND CHALLENGE: In 2009, Las Vegas and Reno developed the Silver State Diamond Challenge and the “Silver Plate Trophy” to add to the excitement to the rivalry for the two PCL teams that represent the state of Nevada…Reno defeated Las Vegas, 3-games-to-1, in the 2015 PCL Conference Championship Series.

The 2017 campaign will mark the ninth season of the S.S.D.C.
