Legendary rock group Styx with special guest star Don Felder kicked off their five-show limited engagement, “Styx & Don Felder: Renegades In The Fast Lane,” at The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian® Las Vegas with packed houses on Friday, Jan. 6 and Saturday, Jan. 7.
Styx hit the stage at 8 p.m. and got the crowd energized with their explosive vocals. The group performed popular songs including “Grand Illusion,” “Fooling Yourself” and “Lady” as fans rocked out.
Shortly after, a curtain dropped to the floor and unveiled a new Styx and Don Felder backdrop. Concertgoers immediately stood up and cheered with excitement as Don Felder walked on stage and performed “Take It Easy” with the rest of the group. Surprising guests in attendance, Felder and Styx played as one collective group, giving a sneak-peek at what was to come during the rest of the performance. Felder welcomed everyone to Las Vegas and talked about how excited he was to play with the band.
“It’s such a treat playing with these guys,” said Felder. “Not only are they extremely talented musicians, but they are just genuinely nice guys.”
Felder and Styx’s high-energy set the tone throughout the night as the crowd stood on their feet and jammed out to “Blue Collar Man,” “Come Sail Away” and “Hotel California.” They concluded the performance with hit songs “Rockin’ The Paradise” and “Renegade.”
The remaining “Styx and Don Felder: Renegades In The Fast Lane” shows take place at The Venetian Theatre on Wednesday, Jan. 11, Friday, Jan. 13 and Saturday, Jan. 14. Tickets are on sale at www.Venetian.com/StyxFelder.
