Now in its 23rd year, the Vans Warped Tour continues to solidify itself as the must attend festival over summer for rock and music lovers alike.

In the tradition of celebrating the tour’s musical roots, the lineup includes bands such as CKY, Sick Of It All, Municipal Waste, The Adolescents, Strung Out, T.S.O.L, Anti-Flag, Hatebreed and others, who are legends in the punk, hardcore and metal core world.

Returning this year is the Mutant Party Zone, which will provide festival-goers with two stages dedicated to heavy music from bands such as The Acacia Strain, Being As An Ocean, Blessthefall, Carnifex, Fit For A King, GWAR and any more.

The Vans Warped Tour has always been a place of music discovery and this year is no exception – the Full Sail Stage has up and comers like Boston Manor, Creeper, The Gospel Youth, Knocked Loose, Movements, and Trophy Eyes positioned to break this summer.

Overall, the tour continues to offer something for every fan, showcasing the best in pop punk, rock, hard core, hip-hop, dance and indie.

The Vans Warped Tour is the largest traveling music festival in the United States, and the longest-running touring music festival in North America. Originally conceived by founder Kevin Lyman in 1995 as an eclectic alternative rock festival, with a focus on punk rock, over the years the tour has grown to include a multitude of genres, including metal, hip hop, reggae, pop and more. It remains one of the best tours to attend to discover emerging acts, to learn more about wonderful non-profits and companies who are working to make a positive impact on the world that surround them, and to meet like-minded friends.

“As we enter our 23rd year on the road, continuing our mission of music, philanthropy and education is what I look forward to most. The Vans Warped Tour is not for all, but every summer I look forward to seeing those fans who do chose to come and engage and be a positive force in our community.” – Kevin Lyman

In addition, the tour continues to host a wide array of amazing non-profits and educational workshops for attendees. Teens With a Purpose, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), Donate Life New England, Planned Parenthood, Keep A Breast, Testicular Cancer Foundation, and Project HEAL, just to name a few. Fans can see their favorite bands as well as become educated on these causes and how they can help.

Sierra Lyman comments, “Music has inspired change and social change has inspired music. Since its inception the Vans Warped Tour created a place where fans are not only inspired by their favorite artists, but also inspired to work with a cause they care about. This is pushed even further by opening up musicians to causes they never even knew about. By creating this community of nonprofits we are able to connect fans with their favorite musicians and also inspire some good in the world.”

The Entertainment Institute will return to the 2017 tour as well, hosting educational workshops and Q+A’s hosted by the industry’s most successful writers, artists, and photographers. A full listing of the guru’s hosting each workshop is available at http://www.thinktei.com/warpedtour

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas Announces Additions to Dynamic Spring & Summer Lineup

BROOKLYN BOWL LAS VEGAS ANNOUNCES ADDITIONS TO DYNAMIC SPRING & SUMMER LINEUP

From reggae to electronic rock to R&B, performers include Battle Tapes, Katchafire, SoMo, The Black Seeds, Streetlight Manifesto, and Toots & The Maytals

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas solidifies its spot as the go-to live music destination on the Strip with an impressively diverse portfolio of spring and summer performances.

The eclectic lineup, announced Tuesday, Feb. 21, includes Battle Tapes (3/30), Katchafire (4/6), Toots & The Maytals (4/15), SoMo (6/8), The Black Seeds (6/24), and Streetlight Manifesto (6/25).

BATTLE TAPES
THURSDAY, MARCH 30 AT 8:30 P.M.

Los Angeles based electronic rock band Battle Tapes will bring their groovy electro-rock to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Thursday, March 30 at 8:30 p.m.

Battle Tapes’ self-described sound is “If Trent Reznor and Daft Punk went on a cocaine-fueled party binge in Los Angeles, but in the best way possible.” The band will play hits like “Valkyrie” and “Feel the Same,” off their newest album “Polygon.” Fitness and BEGINNERS will open.

Doors for The Battle Tapes at The Bowl open at 7:30 p.m. This show is for ages 18 and up. Tickets start at $10 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale to the public Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2lrNVnA.

KATCHAFIRE
THURSDAY, APRIL 6 AT 9 P.M.

New Zealand global reggae phenomenon Katchafire is bringing their feel good vibes to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Thursday, April 6 at 9 p.m.

With four highly successful albums, multiple awards and platinum sales under their belt, this authentic reggae band’s recipe for success involves mashing modern dancehall with R&B while staying true to the foundation of classic roots reggae. The eight-piece collective has become a staple of the Californian and Pacific Roots scenes, and they’ve shared the stage with Damien Marley, Steel Pulse, UB40, as well as accepted invitations to world-renowned festivals like Glastonbury.

The band’s only rule? Enjoy the music.

Doors for Katchafire at The Bowl open at 8 p.m. This show is for ages 18 and up. Tickets start at $25 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2l4MRoC.

TOOTS & THE MAYTALS
SATURDAY, APRIL 15 AT 9 P.M.

Longtime Jamaican reggae staple Toots Hibbert is bringing his band The Maytals to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Saturday, April 15 at 9 p.m.

Jamaican-born Hibbert began singing in his church choir at seven years old, and eventually left for Kingston to form the original Maytals in 1962. “Hallejulah,” his debut release, introduced Jamaicans to his original style: Jamaican rhythms mixed with vocal influences from gospel music.

Calling Toots & The Maytals the founding family of reggae (or, like the name of their 1998 GRAMMY-nominated album, SKAFATHER) may be an understatement, as The Maytals’ 1972 single “Do the Reggay” was the first published instance of the word. The group holds the record for the largest amount of number one hits in Jamaica, clocking in at 31.

Doors for Toots & The Maytals at The Bowl open at 8 p.m. This show is for ages 18 and up. Tickets start at $30 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2m9dVnG.

SOMO: THE ANSWERS TOUR
THURSDAY, JUNE 8 AT 8 P.M.

Soulful R&B sensation SoMo will charm the audience in his return to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Thursday, June 8 at 8 p.m.

Then unsigned to a record label, SoMo, also known as Joseph Somers-Morales, achieved independent fame relatively quickly, thanks to the attention his YouTube covers received and his 2012 hit “Ride” off his first mixtape. His first headlining tour sold out, causing Republic Records to offer him a deal in 2013.

SoMo has since worked tirelessly, amassing nearly 225 million YouTube views, and collaborating with artists such as Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign, Hoodie Allen, and Babyface. His 2015 single “Hide & Freak” featuring Trey Songz debuted at number two on iTunes’ Top R&B/Soul Albums chart and launched his 2015 36-city American tour “The Fallin’ Up Tour.” Concertgoers will undoubtedly be privy to a sneak peak of some of the songs off his not-yet-released second full-length album.

Doors for SoMo at The Bowl open at 7 p.m. This show is for all ages. Tickets start at $20 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2ls5T9L. To purchase venue pre-sale tickets, on sale Thursday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m.,use password PLAY.

THE BLACK SEEDS
SATURDAY, JUNE 24 AT 8 P.M.

One of New Zealand’s finest island reggae bands, The Black Seeds, will sail into Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Saturday, June 24 at 8 p.m.

The Black Seeds have been filling dance floors across the globe for over a decade with their dynamic sound that layers funk, soul, and Afrobeat over traditional reggae foundations. The eight-member configuration includes vocals, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, bass, drums, bongos, keyboard, and wood block.

Already popular in New Zealand, Australia, and southeast Asia, the band was introduced to the rest of the world through their third album “Into the Dojo” in 2007. The cult classic TV series “Breaking Bad” earned the band international fans when it played their rock steady-influenced song “One by One” in a Season Two episode.

Clash Music has called them “one of the best live reggae acts on the planet,” and in 2012, Rolling Stone Magazine called them “the best reggae band in the world right now.”

STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO – THE SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN TOUR 2017
SUNDAY, JUNE 25 AT 8 P.M.

New Jersey-based ska band Streetlight Manifesto is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their 2007 release “Somewhere in Between” at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Sunday, June 25 at 8 p.m. The band will perform the iconic album start to finish, along with other favorites.

Streetlight Manifesto is the ska band for even non-ska fans. Seven members came together to form one band with one unique and unmistakable voice, touting latin, klezmer, folk, funk, jazz and classical influences.

The band was originally supposed to make one album and disappear, but three albums and countless worldwide tours later, the guys continue to give their all to sold-out crowds while redefining the genre of ska.

Doors for Streetlight Manifesto at The Bowl open at 7 p.m. This show is for ages 18 and up. Tickets start at $27.50 (plus applicable service fees) and are currently on sale to the public at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2Mls6bNK.
