Los Angeles based electronic rock band Battle Tapes will bring their groovy electro-rock to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Thursday, March 30 at 8:30 p.m.

Battle Tapes’ self-described sound is “If Trent Reznor and Daft Punk went on a cocaine-fueled party binge in Los Angeles, but in the best way possible.” The band will play hits like “Valkyrie” and “Feel the Same,” off their newest album “Polygon.” Fitness and BEGINNERS will open.

Doors for The Battle Tapes at The Bowl open at 7:30 p.m. This show is for ages 18 and up. KATCHAFIRE
THURSDAY, APRIL 6 AT 9 P.M.

New Zealand global reggae phenomenon Katchafire is bringing their feel good vibes to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Thursday, April 6 at 9 p.m.

With four highly successful albums, multiple awards and platinum sales under their belt, this authentic reggae band’s recipe for success involves mashing modern dancehall with R&B while staying true to the foundation of classic roots reggae. The eight-piece collective has become a staple of the Californian and Pacific Roots scenes, and they’ve shared the stage with Damien Marley, Steel Pulse, UB40, as well as accepted invitations to world-renowned festivals like Glastonbury.

The band’s only rule? Enjoy the music.

Doors for Katchafire at The Bowl open at 8 p.m. This show is for ages 18 and up. Tickets start at $25 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2l4MRoC.

TOOTS & THE MAYTALS
SATURDAY, APRIL 15 AT 9 P.M.

Longtime Jamaican reggae staple Toots Hibbert is bringing his band The Maytals to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Saturday, April 15 at 9 p.m.

Jamaican-born Hibbert began singing in his church choir at seven years old, and eventually left for Kingston to form the original Maytals in 1962. “Hallejulah,” his debut release, introduced Jamaicans to his original style: Jamaican rhythms mixed with vocal influences from gospel music.

Calling Toots & The Maytals the founding family of reggae (or, like the name of their 1998 GRAMMY-nominated album, SKAFATHER) may be an understatement, as The Maytals’ 1972 single “Do the Reggay” was the first published instance of the word. The group holds the record for the largest amount of number one hits in Jamaica, clocking in at 31.

Doors for Toots & The Maytals at The Bowl open at 8 p.m. This show is for ages 18 and up. Tickets start at $30 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2m9dVnG.

SOMO: THE ANSWERS TOUR
THURSDAY, JUNE 8 AT 8 P.M.

Soulful R&B sensation SoMo will charm the audience in his return to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Thursday, June 8 at 8 p.m.

Then unsigned to a record label, SoMo, also known as Joseph Somers-Morales, achieved independent fame relatively quickly, thanks to the attention his YouTube covers received and his 2012 hit “Ride” off his first mixtape. His first headlining tour sold out, causing Republic Records to offer him a deal in 2013.

SoMo has since worked tirelessly, amassing nearly 225 million YouTube views, and collaborating with artists such as Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign, Hoodie Allen, and Babyface. His 2015 single “Hide & Freak” featuring Trey Songz debuted at number two on iTunes’ Top R&B/Soul Albums chart and launched his 2015 36-city American tour “The Fallin’ Up Tour.” Concertgoers will undoubtedly be privy to a sneak peak of some of the songs off his not-yet-released second full-length album.

Doors for SoMo at The Bowl open at 7 p.m. This show is for all ages. Tickets start at $20 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2ls5T9L. THE BLACK SEEDS
SATURDAY, JUNE 24 AT 8 P.M.

One of New Zealand’s finest island reggae bands, The Black Seeds, will sail into Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Saturday, June 24 at 8 p.m.

The Black Seeds have been filling dance floors across the globe for over a decade with their dynamic sound that layers funk, soul, and Afrobeat over traditional reggae foundations. The eight-member configuration includes vocals, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, bass, drums, bongos, keyboard, and wood block.

Already popular in New Zealand, Australia, and southeast Asia, the band was introduced to the rest of the world through their third album “Into the Dojo” in 2007. The cult classic TV series “Breaking Bad” earned the band international fans when it played their rock steady-influenced song “One by One” in a Season Two episode.

Clash Music has called them “one of the best live reggae acts on the planet,” and in 2012, Rolling Stone Magazine called them “the best reggae band in the world right now.”

Doors for The Black Seeds at The Bowl open at 6 p.m. This show is for ages 18 and up. Tickets start at $12 (plus applicable service fees) and are currently on sale to the public at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2l4XKa3.

STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO – THE SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN TOUR 2017
SUNDAY, JUNE 25 AT 8 P.M.

New Jersey-based ska band Streetlight Manifesto is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their 2007 release “Somewhere in Between” at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Sunday, June 25 at 8 p.m. The band will perform the iconic album start to finish, along with other favorites.

Streetlight Manifesto is the ska band for even non-ska fans. Seven members came together to form one band with one unique and unmistakable voice, touting latin, klezmer, folk, funk, jazz and classical influences.

The band was originally supposed to make one album and disappear, but three albums and countless worldwide tours later, the guys continue to give their all to sold-out crowds while redefining the genre of ska.

Doors for Streetlight Manifesto at The Bowl open at 7 p.m. This show is for ages 18 and up. Tickets start at $27.50 (plus applicable service fees) and are currently on sale to the public at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/2Mls6bNK.

ABOUT WAKA FLOCKA FLAME:
Waka Flocka Flame didn’t want to be a rapper when he grew up. He didn’t want to write hit songs, perform in front of thousands of people at packed clubs or hear his songs played on radio stations across the country. But more than a year after bursting onto the scene with his debut single, “O Let’s Do It,” the Atlanta rapper has managed to make more of an impact on the music industry than most rappers who have spent their entire lives trying to do it. And thanks to an influential cosign from fellow ATLien Gucci Mane, and a string of chart-topping singles, including the remix to “O Let’s Do It,” featuring Rick Ross and Diddy, and his latest hit, “Hard In Da Paint,” it doesn’t look like Waka Flocka is ready to quit rapping anytime soon.

“I never dreamed I would be doing what I’m doing today,” says Waka, who earned his unique nickname from a cousin when he was younger while they were watching an episode of Jim Henson’s classic puppet show, The Muppet Show (he later added the “Flocka Flame” to the end of it at the suggestion of Gucci Mane). “I never imagined I’d become a rapper, let alone a successful rapper.”

Born Juaquin Malphurs in Queens, N.Y., Waka Flocka certainly had all the connections to forge into music at a young age. He grew up around the corner from Murda Inc. recording artist Ja Rule, lived near LL Cool J’s grandmother and even had a cousin who used to hang around the popular group Lost Boyz in the mid-1990s. But when his mother Debra Mizay — now the CEO of artist management group Mizay Entertainment — relocated the family to Riverdale, Georgia when Waka was 11, he shied away from music and instead focused on his love for basketball. And after his youngest brother died in automobile accident when Waka was just 14, he moved even further away from it, instead opting to spend his time running the streets of Atlanta with his friends.

“That whole period of my life really messed with my head,” says Waka. “I ain’t even gonna lie — it killed me as a man. But it also made me stronger as a man in the future.”

At 18, Waka looked on as his mother began managing the career of Gucci Mane, who had established himself as a force to be reckoned with in Atlanta at the time by performing relentlessly throughout the South. Within two years, Waka began messing around with music himself alongside local producer Tay Beatz, who helped him shape his rambunctious personality on the microphone. “I was going through so much at the time,” says Waka. “I had so much stress and so many issues. I couldn’t release my emotions physically, so releasing them verbally was the only option I had.”

The result was Waka’s 2008 mixtape, “Salute Me or Shoot Me, Vol. 1,” featuring the trap anthem, “O Let’s Do It,” a song that caught on instantaneously in the A and quickly spread to other parts of the country. It allowed Waka to take his show on the road and also earned him a coveted slot in Gucci Mane’s 1017 Brick Squad clique. “Gucci and them were kind of shocked,” says Waka, “because nobody really knew I was rapping and then, all of a sudden, I had the biggest song in the South.”

But all the sudden success also took its toll on Waka. In January 2010, he was shot several times at a car wash in Atlanta during an alleged robbery attempt. The following month, legendary East Coast artist Method Man was doing an interview on satellite radio and spoke out against Waka, criticizing the lack of lyricism involved in crafting his style of music. He also endured a short rift in his relationship with Gucci Mane recently after the rapper parted ways with his mother’s management company in May. The incidents earned Waka a reputation as one of the most controversial artists in the industry — a reputation that he doesn’t feel he deserves.

“People have definitely gotten the wrong impression of me so far,” says Waka. “I don’t know why they think I’m so controversial. I guess people just don’t know the real me yet. It’s up to me to change their minds.”

He’s spent the better part of 2010 doing exactly that. Earlier this summer, he released “Hard In Da Paint,” a catchy Lex Luger-produced track that inspired a slew of freestyles by other artists. He also put the finishing touches on his debut album, “Flockaveli” — the first released through So Icey/Asylum/Warner Bros. Records. Featuring the rowdy intro, “Bustin’ At ‘Em,” the strip club anthem, “No Hands,” featuring Roscoe Dash and Wale, and the brutally-honest closing track, “Fuck This Industry,” it promises to be one of the most energetic debut albums of the year.

By naming it “Flockaveli,” Waka — who calls 2Pac his favorite rapper of all-time — is also doing more than just being controversial for the sake of being controversial. “2Pac introduced me to a guy named Machiavelli,” says Waka. “His back was always to the wall and people threw sticks and stones at him and he had to keeping blocking them. When I recorded this album, that’s how I felt.”

And if anyone doesn’t like it? “I don’t care,” says Waka. “I’m just going to keep on making my music.”

For a guy who claims he never wanted to be a rapper, he’s certainly come around to the idea.

DOUBLE JUMP THE CONCERT LINE AT BROOKLYN BOWL LAS VEGAS
AT THE LINQ

Guests Who Dine at Brooklyn Bowl’s Restaurant Can Now “Jump” to the Front of the Concert Line

In bowling, the term “double jump” means the bowler has jumped ahead of where he or she should be in the standard rotation. However, at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, Double Jump is a boon for guests who want to dine and then receive preferential access to the evening’s concert event.

Now available, the Double Jump program enables guests dining at its award-winning, Blue Ribbon restaurant to proceed immediately to the concert of the night before the general public.

Here is how it works: dine anywhere at Brooklyn Bowl and show the receipt to security to be allowed entry into the concert area ahead of the general public. That guest will “jump the line.” Reservations during concert nights are strongly recommended. Reservations can be made via vegas.brooklynbowl.com or by calling (702) 862-2695.

Brooklyn Bowl’s Blue Ribbon restaurant was created by brothers, chefs and restaurateurs, Bruce and Eric Bromberg. Expertly prepared by Executive Chef Dermot Driscoll, Brooklyn Bowl’s menu is a mix of comfort food and new twists on old favorites. Signature dishes include Egg Shooters with pickled peppers and olive oil mayo; Deep Fried Pickles with Blue Ribbon seasoning and chipotle ranch; a collection of French Bread Pizzas including The Theresa with butternut squash, mushrooms and roasted garlic; The Bowl Burger Deluxe with all of the fixin’s and fries; Mac & Cheese with baked crumbs and of course, its world-renowned Fried Chicken served with white bread and honey.

Brooklyn Bowl is open for dining every day starting at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

 jack white

ABOUT JACK WHITE:
Born the youngest of ten children, raised in Southwest Detroit and a resident of Nashville since 2005, Jack White is one of the most prolific and renowned artists of the past fifteen years.

When the White Stripes started in 1997 no one, least of all Jack, ever expected that a red,
white and black two-piece band would take hold in the mainstream world. The band’s self-titled debut and sophomore effort De Stijl amassed critical acclaim and built a passionate underground following, but it was the release of 2001’s White Blood Cells that thrust the White Stripes onto magazine covers as they captivated larger audiences through worldwide touring. “Fell in Love With a Girl” served as the band’s breakthrough hit and its accompanying Michel Gondry Lego clip was chosen by Pitchfork Media as the #1 music video of the 2000s.

The release of Elephant in 2003 not only cemented the band’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with, but it also offered the hit “Seven Nation Army” which has since become appropriated as a multiple sport stadium chant the world over.

In 2004, White teamed up with Loretta Lynn to produce and perform on her Van Lear Rose album, an effort that won GRAMMY Awards for Best Country Album and Best Country collaboration with vocals for the single “Portland, Oregon.” To date White has won nine GRAMMYs in seven different categories.

White formed a “new band of old friends,” the Raconteurs, in 2006. Their debut album Broken Boy Soldiers featured the #1 hit single “Steady, As She Goes” and showed a markedly different side of White, one where songwriting, vocal and guitar duties were shared.

In 2009, White returned to his original instrument, the drums, and started the Dead Weather with members of the Kills, Queens of the Stone Age and the Greenhornes. Releasing two albums in two years and unleashing a dark, captivating live show upon curious audiences, the Dead Weather further cemented Jack White’s musical versatility and range.

Also in 2009, White opened the doors to his very own record label, Third Man Records, where he has since produced and released more than 200 records in just over three years. With a catalogue of releases from artists as varied as Jerry Lee Lewis, the Smoke Fairies, Wanda Jackson, Black Milk and Stephen Colbert, the label has quickly developed a reputation as a leader in the vinyl record industry.

On April 24, 2012, White released his debut album Blunderbuss on Third Man Records/Columbia. Blunderbuss debuted at #1 on the U.S. albums chart and was both the top selling vinyl album and the highest charting solo debut of 2012 in the U.S.. ABOUT BROOKLYN BOWL:
Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is the brand’s third location. With three levels spanning over 80,000 square feet, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is one of the largest performance venues in America and is described by People Magazine as being “on the fast path to being Vegas’ über cool place.” Located at The LINQ, the open-air district in the center of the Las Vegas Strip, the multi-dimensional space boasts 32 lanes of bowling, five on-site bars and rockin’ comfort food by the world-renowned Bromberg Brothers’ Blue Ribbon Restaurants, including their iconic Fried Chicken celebrated on Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” On any given night, more than 2,000 concertgoers can enjoy live music programming from the general admission area, the luxurious bowlers’ lounges adjacent to the lanes, or the private lounge boxes overlooking it all. Since opening in March 2014, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas has seen notable performances by Elvis Costello & The Roots, Jane’s Addiction, Phil Lesh & Friends, Primus, O.A.R. and 21 Pilots.

The original location opened in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn in 2009 in the former Hecla Iron Works building (built in 1882) and was the first L.E.E.D. certified bowling alley in the world. Brooklyn Bowl New York has hosted countless notable performances, including shows by Kanye West, Adele, Paul Simon, Moby and Guns N’Roses and has been named Zagat’s “Best Music Venue – New York City” for three consecutive years (as well as “Best Bowling Alley” and “Best Brooklyn Venue”) and one of the best clubs in America by Rolling Stone.  Eater described their menu as “epic,” while The New Yorker hailed the club’s unprecedented combination of top-flight music, beer, bowling, and food as “like nailing a spare on a four-ten split.” The second Brooklyn Bowl location opened in January 2014 at The O2 in London, and was hailed by The London Evening Standard as a “…wonderland of food, drink, music and pins”.
