Billboard and dick clark productions announced today that Lukas Graham will perform on the “2016 Billboard Music Awards.” Also added to the star-studded show are presenters Kate Beckinsale, Priyanka Chopra, Laverne Cox, Mark Cuban, JoJo Fletcher from ABC’s “The Bachelorette,” Lucy Hale, Halsey, Heidi Klum, Kelly Rowland, Seal, Tyrese and Zendaya. The award show will broadcast LIVE from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on ABC. For the first time in Billboard Music Awards history, viewers on the West Coast will watch the show live along with fellow fans on the East Coast. They join previously announced presenters Jessica Alba, Kristen Bell, Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell, Kathryn Hahn, Wiz Khalifa, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Idina Menzel, Keke Palmer, Rebecca Romijn, Serayah, Steven Tyler, Lindsey Vonn and Pete Wentz.
This year’s show, which will be hosted by hip-hop artist Ludacris and international music sensation Ciara, will showcase big performances, unexpected collaborations and much-discussed pop culture moments. Including performances by Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, DNCE, The Go-Go’s, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, P!nk, Rihanna, “Kia’s One to Watch” Troye Sivan, Britney Spears, Meghan Trainor, and collaborations with Fifth Harmony featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Nick Jonas with Tove Lo, and Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani, and Madonna will honor Prince.
Lukas Graham has rapidly become the breakout act of 2016. The Danish foursome, led by vocalist and songwriter Lukas Graham Forchhammer, are topping charts worldwide with single “7 Years” reaching #1 at both Top 40 and Hot AC radio, and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their self-titled debut album has received overwhelming critical acclaim since its April 1 release, debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 and propelling the band further into the global spotlight with what the New York Times describes as “neatly turned songs that merge the lilt of pop-soul with the quick cadences of hip-hop.” Hailing from Christiania, an autonomous, artistic community in the center of Copenhagen, Lukas developed his natural talent for honest and gritty songwriting.
