Lukas Graham

Lukas Graham has rapidly become the breakout act of 2016. The Danish foursome, led by vocalist and songwriter Lukas Graham Forchhammer, are topping charts worldwide with single “7 Years” reaching #1 at both Top 40 and Hot AC radio, and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their self-titled debut album has received overwhelming critical acclaim since its April 1 release, debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 and propelling the band further into the global spotlight with what the New York Times describes as “neatly turned songs that merge the lilt of pop-soul with the quick cadences of hip-hop.” Hailing from Christiania, an autonomous, artistic community in the center of Copenhagen, Lukas developed his natural talent for honest and gritty songwriting. Classically trained with the Copenhagen Boys’ Choir, with a musical scope widened by his Irish folk roots and passion for hip-hop, Lukas possesses a distinct, poetic ability to capture the full range of emotions in his music. Known for a phenomenal live show, Lukas Graham sold out his first ever U.S. headline tour and will continue to play festivals and sold out shows around the world in 2016 alongside bandmates Mark Falgren (drums), Magnús Larsson (bass), and Kasper Daugaard (keyboard).

dick clark productions and ABC announced today two spectacular duets to be performed at the “2015 American Music Awards, the world’s biggest fan-voted award show. Luke Bryan will perform the world premiere of “Home Alone Tonight” featuring Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town. Meghan Trainor will treat the audience to a performance of her platinum-selling song “Like I’m Gonna Lose You,” and will be joined by Charlie Puth to perform his hit single “Marvin Gaye.” They join previously announced host and performer Jennifer Lopez, as well as 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, One Direction, Carrie Underwood and WALK THE MOON. The “2015 American Music Awards” will broadcast live on Sunday, November 22 at 8:00pm ET on ABC.

Luke Bryan is a three-time Favorite Male Artist – Country winner (2012, 2013, and 2014) and is nominated again this year. Bryan is also nominated as Artist of the Year, his second nomination in that category. This is Bryan’s second appearance on the AMA stage; he first performed in 2013, singing his hit single “That’s My Kind of Night.” Fairchild will take the AMA stage without her band mates for the first time but Little Big Town is nominated for their first American Music Award this year in the category Favorite Duo or Group – Country.

Charlie Puth is nominated for his first American Music Award for Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile. This will be Puth’s first performance at the American Music Awards. Meghan Trainor is a four-time American Music Award nominee and first-time performer. This year Trainor is nominated in the categories of Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock and Favorite Artist – Adult Contemporary.

Luke Bryan

Luke Bryan – Since the debut of his first album in 2007, Luke Bryan has placed 14 singles at #1 and sold nearly 8 million albums with 30 million digital tracks from his five studio albums. He has been named Entertainer of the Year by both the Academy of Country Music (twice) and the Country Music Association. Bryan’s recent album Kill The Lights recently debuted at #1 on both the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts. This is Bryan’s third consecutive album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Kill The Lights is the third-largest-selling album debut in 2015 at the time of its release, after R&B / hip hop releases from Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Kill The Lights is also the highest country album debut in the last two years, since Bryan’s Crash My Party debuted at #1 in August 2013.

Karen Fairchild

Karen Fairchild (Little Big Town) – GRAMMY Award-winning country super group Little Big Town, comprised of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook, is one of country music’s most iconic foursomes. The multi-Platinum-selling band is currently the reigning ACM and CMA (3x) Vocal Group of the Year, and they are the most recent inductees into the famed Grand Ole Opry. Little Big Town is responsible for some of the format’s biggest hits including “Day Drinking,” “Pontoon,” “Little White Church,” “Boondocks” and their most recent record-breaking smash, “Girl Crush.” Little Big Town is now out on the PAIN KILLER TOUR in support of their latest Capitol Nashville release, Pain Killer. For more information, visit www.LittleBigTown.com.

Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth – Charlie Puth has fast become a worldwide star thanks to the international smash hit, “See You Again,” by Wiz Khalifa (Feat. Charlie Puth). The 4x RIAA platinum certified track, which was co-written and co-produced by Puth, is featured on Atlantic Records’ FURIOUS 7: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK. It has entered the history books as one of the decade’s biggest singles, topped Billboard’s “Hot 100” for a stunning 12 weeks, hit No. 1 on the iTunes Store’s “Top Songs” chart in a remarkable 101 countries, and shattered Spotify records by becoming the most streamed track ever in a single day (with 3.18 million global streams on April 8th alone) and in a single week (a stunning 21.9 million worldwide streams). Puth is also seeing huge success with his hit single “Marvin Gaye” feat. Meghan Trainor, which is featured on his upcoming debut album NINE TRACK MIND along with current single “One Call Away.” As if that weren’t enough, Puth recently teamed up with Lil Wayne for “Nothing But Trouble,” the new single from Big Beat Records’ hugely anticipated soundtrack for 808, the landmark documentary chronicling the incredible story of the influential Roland TR-808 drum machine. A Berklee College of Music graduate, Puth has found himself among modern pop’s most in-demand co-writers and producers – recent credits include two tracks on Jason Derulo’s acclaimed new album Everything Is 4, the R&B chart-topping single “Slow Motion” by Atlantic’s own Trey Songz, and further collaborations not yet announced.

meghan

Meghan Trainor – The Nantucket-born pop singer and songwriter earned superstar status in 2014 the old-fashioned way—with infectious, inimitable, and inescapable music. Her debut single “All About That Bass” went 9-times RIAA platinum, eventually received two Grammy® Award nominations, won Billboard Music Awards for “Top Hot 100 Song” and “Top Digital Song,” held #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, and received over 1 billion YouTube/VEVO views in less than a year. However, she didn’t stop there. Her full-length debut, TITLE [Epic Records] crashed the Billboard Top 200 at #1 in early 2015 and broke records as the “biggest-selling debut for a female artist’s first full-length album in more than five years” and “the biggest-selling debut for a solo artist’s first full-length in more than three years.” The critically acclaimed album also produced the double platinum hits “Lips Are Movin” and “Dear Future Husband” and platinum “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” featuring John Legend.  Meghan sold out every date of her first national tour and went on to pack venues during Summer 2015’s THE MTRAIN TOUR. However, this star has only just started to shine, and you’ll be hearing more about her soon.

To help fans express their passion and excitement for the show, the American Music Awards and Twitter are launching custom Twitter emojis for all performers.  All performers will have featured Twitter emojis to celebrate their appearances as they are announced. Multi-platinum singer and actress Selena Gomez redefines her role as a pop artist on her new album Revival which recently debuted at #1 on Billboard’s album chart.  Powerful and passionately charged, thrilling and sophisticated, Revival has also earned Gomez a host of rave reviews. Entertainment Weekly called it “one of fall’s sleekest albums” and “as fresh and forward-thinking as the music of indie darlings Tove Lo and FKA Twigs,” while Rolling Stone raved “this is the sound of a newly empowered pop artist growing into her strengths like never before.” USA Today noted that “Gomez is bound to get at least a few skeptics off of Instagram and onto the dance floor” with her “cool, groovy and electro-savvy” album. “Gomez arrives with a pop vengeance throughout the record, as ear-sucking hooks and telling lyrics lay the groundwork for ’80s-infused dance riffs and head-rushing genre-hopping that saturates all 14 tracks,” raved Complex. The first single from Revival, “Good For You” featuring A$AP Rock is Gomez’s biggest hit to date.  It is her fastest-ever platinum seller and spent three consecutive weeks at #1 at Top 40 radio.  Revival  marks the latest chapter in a career that’s brought Gomez from starring on television at age 15 to taking a central role in Harmony Korine’s 2012 cult classic “Spring Breakers” — all while selling more than 22 million singles worldwide. Gomez announced that she will embark on her worldwide “Revival Tour” in 2016. The first leg will find Gomez traveling to 41 cities across the United States and Canada. The tour kicks off in Las Vegas on May 6th at Mandalay Bay and hits major markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and more.

 Carrie Underwood 7
Carrie Underwood emerged from the promise of her 2005 American Idol win to become a true multi-format, multi-media superstar, spanning achievements in music, television and film.  A seven-time GRAMMY® Award winner, she has amassed nearly 100 major honors, sold 58 million records worldwide, and recorded 21 #1 singles, 11 of which she co-wrote.  The first female artist to be twice named the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year, Underwood was recognized as Pollstar’s top female country touring artist for her headlining tours in 2008, 2010, and 2012.  Her four studio albums, Some HeartsCarnival RidePlay On, and Blown Away – each certified multi-Platinum or Platinum, and each an American Music Awards winner as Country Album of the Year – tallied 38 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with songs that have been streamed more than 1.5 billion times worldwide.  In 2013, she starred as Maria von Trapp in NBC’s three-hour holiday blockbuster, the Emmy®-winning The Sound of Music Live!, whose airings attracted 44 million viewers.  In late 2014, the Grand Ole Opry member released her first hits collection, Greatest Hits: Decade #1.  Celebrating her first 10 years of music, the 25 songs included two new hits co-written by Underwood: the Platinum-certified, GRAMMY-winning “Something in the Water,” as well as the #1 smash “Little Toy Guns.”  In September of 2015, she began her third season as the voice of primetime television’s #1 program, Sunday Night Football, and on November 4, she’ll return for an eighth consecutive year as co-host of the CMA Awards.  Underwood is at radio now with her record-breaking single “Smoke Break,” the first single released from her fifth studio album, Storyteller, out worldwide on October 23, 2015.

  • Ed Sheeran scored his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this past year with the soul-and-funk-infused “x.” The album brought Sheeran his first Billboard Hot 100 top 10, “Don’t,” and his highest-peaking Hot 100 hit, ballad “Thinking Out Loud,” which spent a lengthy two months at No. 2.
  • Hozier’s smash single “Take Me To Church” hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 23 weeks at No. 1 on Hot Rock Songs.

“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015″ Begins Live
at 8pm ET/PT on ABC from New York’s Times Square

Iggy Azalea, Bastille, Jason Derulo, Pentatonix and Rixton join the biggest music celebration of the year on “.” Fergie hosts the Billboard Hollywood Party and also performs along with previously announced performers Charli XCX, One Direction and Meghan Trainor. With over 38 performances and 5 ½ hours of music, programming for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015” begins at 8:00 pm ET/PT on ABC Television Network.

The bi-coastal celebration will include hours of special performances and reports on New Year’s celebrations from around the globe, and Ryan Seacrest will lead the traditional countdown to midnight from Times Square in New York City as he has for the last 9 years. As previously announced, Jenny McCarthy will be live from Times Square where Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, MAGIC! and Idina Menzel will perform for over one million fans. Special remote performances from Nashville will include Gavin DeGraw and Lady Antebellum with Elton John also performing from Brooklyn.

After years of honing her signature style on hip-hop’s underground circuit, 4-time Grammy nominee Iggy Azalea burst onto the charts and emerged as the breakout story of 2014. Her smash hit, “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX, rocketed to #1, breaking airplay and Spotify records along the way. After an astounding 7 weeks at #1, Iggy Azalea made history on the Billboard Hot 100 as “Fancy” rewrote the record for the longest-leading No. 1 song by a female rapper. Iggy made chart history again as the first artist since The Beatles to rank at Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously with their first two Hot 100 hits. “Fancy” has been unilaterally dubbed 2014’s “Song Of The Summer,” and has been covered by everyone from Saturday Night Live, to Jimmy Fallon, to Weird Al Yankovic. Iggy’s debut album The New Classic peaked at #1 on the Billboard Rap Album charts, a first for an international female artist. Iggy’s new single, “Black Widow” featuring Rita Ora, hit #1 at Top 40 and Rhythmic radio.

Bastille has been touring non-stop in support of its debut album, Bad Blood, which entered the U.K. albums chart at No. 1 and has sold over a million albums in the U.S. The band’s breakthrough hit “Pompeii” has now been certified four times Platinum by the RIAA in the U.S. It is certified Platinum (or multi-Platinum) in a total of seven countries, including the U.K., Australia, Canada and Italy. “Pompeii” is the most-streamed track of all time in the U.K. and one of the most-streamed tracks of 2014 on Spotify. The track has ruled at radio, topping Billboard’s Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs and Adult Alternative Songs charts and entering the Top 5 at the Mainstream Top 40 and Adult Top 40 formats. The official video has more than 125 million views. “Flaws,” the latest single from Bad Blood, is quickly climbing the Alternative radio charts.  In addition to its remarkable chart success, Bastille has been honored with a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. The group has won a BRIT Award, an mtvU Woodie and a Teen Choice Award and was nominated for two American Music Awards, five World Music Awards and numerous other honors.

Five years in from making his debut in pop music, Jason Derulo has sold more than 45 million records worldwide and amassed almost 1.5 billion views on his YouTube Channel.  His last song, “Wiggle,” featuring Snoop Dogg, is his eighth song to reach the Top 10 on the Top 40 format and his ninth platinum-selling single.  Derulo’s ubiquitous hit “Talk Dirty,” featuring 2 Chainz, was his most successful track to date, having sold more than six million singles worldwide with a music video that has garnered almost 250 million views on YouTube.  His fifth single from the Talk Dirty album, “Trumpets” is his fifth platinum song off of the album, putting him in an elite category of hit-making artists to accomplish the feat such as Drake (Take Care 2014), Katy Perry (Teenage Dream 2010), Bruno Mars (Doo Wops… 2010), Black Eyed Peas (The End 2009), Beyonce (Sasha Fierce 2008), P!nk (Funhouse 2008), Rihanna (Good Girl 2007) and Taylor Swift (Taylor Swift 2007). The Miami-native’s career started when he was 16 years old and began writing songs for artists like Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Diddy, Sean Kingston, Cassie and Danity Kane. Begins Live at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC from New York’s Times Square

Charli XCX, One Direction and Meghan Trainor join the biggest bi-coastal celebration of the year with performances on New Year’s Eve from the Billboard Hollywood Party.  One Direction will headline with four performances throughout the night. Fergie returns for the ninth year to host the Billboard Hollywood Party and will treat the audience to a special performance. Jenny McCarthy returns for the fourth time live from Times Square. “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015” will air on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31 beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Television Network.

The bi-coastal celebration will include hours of special performances and reports on New Year’s celebrations from around the globe. Ryan Seacrest will lead the traditional countdown to midnight, and before the ball drops on New Year’s Eve, global music sensation Taylor Swift will perform live for over 1 million fans in Times Square. Gavin DeGraw and Lady Antebellum will perform live from Music City’s New Year’s Eve Bash on Broadway in downtown Nashville.

London-based singer and songwriter Charli XCX is quickly proving an unqualified phenomenon with her edgy, yet addictive approach. Since her first critically-acclaimed track, “Nuclear Seasons” in 2011, the 22 year-old, Charlotte Aitchison, co-wrote the #1 smash single with Iggy Azalea, “Fancy,” and penned last year’s double platinum summer it-song, “I Love It” recorded by Icona Pop, which she is featured on. Most recently, Charli XCX released the platinum selling “Boom Clap” single from the ‘The Fault in Our Stars: Music From the Motion Picture’ soundtrack, landing the #1 spot on Top 40 radio along, with a brand new song, “Break The Rules” from her forthcoming sophomore studio album, “SUCKER” arriving December 15th via Neon Gold/Atlantic Records.

Fergie’s newest single, “L.A.Love (la la),” marks her return to music following her 2006 solo album The Dutchess, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 and spent 94 weeks on the chart.  The album went on to sell 6.2 million copies and 28.5 million tracks worldwide and spawned three No. 1 hits on the Hot 100: “London Bridge,” “Glamorous,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” as well as the Top 5 singles “Fergalicious” and “Clumsy”.  Since The Dutchess’ release, Fergie has also released two multi-Platinum albums, The E.N.D. and The Beginning, with The Black Eyed Peas– with whom she has sold 31 million albums and 58 million singles worldwide. The Black Eyed Peas’ videos have been viewed over 1.8 billion times on their YouTube channel.

Jenny McCarthy is an actress, comedian and New York Times best-selling author, known for her unique combination of intelligence, outrageousness, unpredictability and humor. She will return to television as an executive producer with her husband Donnie in “Donnie Loves Jenny,” an original series on the A&E Network, scheduled to premiere in January. McCarthy recently hit the airwaves with Dirty, Sexy, Funny with Jenny McCarthy, a new daily live morning radio show on SiriusXM, discussing relationships, pop culture and current events.

With a staggering 94 number ones and over 46 million records sold, in just four short years, One Direction have gone from energetic pop upstarts to international superstars. As the band’s song writing becomes more personal with each record, FOUR is set to be their most stunning yet. The album follows the global success of their huge sell out WHERE WE ARE stadium tour and the 3D film documentary THIS IS US. Fans also had the opportunity to relive this summers’ tour with the release of their second film WHERE WE ARE: THE CONCERT FILM, which broke records as the biggest ever Event Cinema audience across one weekend. The WHERE WE ARE: THE CONCERT FILM DVD will be released on Dec. 2. Add all this to their 3 billion YouTube views, 109 million combined Twitter followers and 33 million Facebook fans and it’s clear that Liam, Harry, Louis, Niall and Zayn genuinely are a worldwide phenomenon.

Meghan Trainor has quickly become one of the biggest breakout pop stars this year with her multi-platinum debut “All About That Bass,” which captured the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for eight consecutive weeks. The positive body-image anthem also spent three weeks at No. 1 at Top 40 radio, eight weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Shazam chart, and reached No. 1 globally on Spotify.  Follow up single “Lips Are Movin” is quickly following the footsteps of “All About That Bass” and is rocketing up the charts.  Trainor’s hotly anticipated full-length debut Title [Epic Records] (pre-order) hits shelves on January 13th just prior to the launch of her just-announced “THAT BASS” North American headlining tour.  Trainor is a 2014 American Music Award nominee for “New Artist of the Year” and is also up for two People’s Choice awards and LOGO a New Next Now award.

“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015” is produced by dick clark productions with Ryan Seacrest, Allen Shapiro and Mike Mahan serving as executive producers, and Barry Adelman and Mark Bracco are co-executive producers. Larry Klein is producer.

Get Miranda Lambert’s country glam hair from last night’s CMA Awards!

All eyes were on country music star Miranda Lambert at last night’s 2014 Country Music Association Awards, and not just for her four award wins and buzzworthy performance with pop star Meghan Trainor. As one of the red carpet’s ‘best dressed’, we were head-over-heels for Miranda’s stunning and varied looks throughout the evening. To recreate Miranda’s country glam hairstyles at home, Pureology Artistic Ambassador Sandra Joseph shares her step-by-steps on how to get each of Miranda’s looks.

Miranda Lambert

Red carpet Hollywood glam

  1. To protect and strengthen blonde locks like Miranda’s, apply a small amount Pureology Strength Cure Fabulous Lengths on damp hair from roots to ends.
  2. Layer two pumps Bodifying Luminator texturing shine-foam and one pump of Gold Definer contour shine-gel for volume, control, and shine. Blow-dry with a medium round brush to create bend and bounce.
  3. Using a ¾-inch iron, curl hair around the iron. Pin hair with prong clips and allow to cool.
  4. Take out clips, create a side part and brush hair with a soft bristle brush. Smooth right side behind the ear and secure with pins.
  5. Emulsify a small amount of Density Definer medium hold crème wax in palm of hands. Smooth top and right side for extra polish and shine.
  6. Finish by piecing remaining locks with an additional application of Density Definer medium hold crème wax.

  3. Using a 1-inch iron, take vertical sections and curl random pieces back and forth.
  4. Rake curls with fingers to loosen while applying Piecing Sculpt high holding sculpting fiber paste for definition.
  5. Back comb under layers of hair with fingers to provide added lift and fullness.
  6. Finish with Supreme Control high-hold hairspray for an all-night hold.

  2. Apply two pumps of Gold Definer contour shine-gel throughout for smoothness and shine. Wrap dry hair with a paddle brush.
  3. Starting from the bottom and working to the top, take 1/2- inch panels of hair and flat iron.
  4. Finish with a mist of Strengthening Control zero dulling hairspray for light hold and added shine.
