Billboard and dick clark productions announced today that Lukas Graham will perform on the “2016 Billboard Music Awards.”  Also added to the star-studded show are presenters Kate Beckinsale, Priyanka Chopra, Laverne Cox, Mark Cuban, JoJo Fletcher from ABC’s “The Bachelorette,” Lucy Hale, Halsey, Heidi Klum, Kelly Rowland, Seal, Tyrese and Zendaya.  The award show will broadcast LIVE from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on ABC. For the first time in Billboard Music Awards history, viewers on the West Coast will watch the show live along with fellow fans on the East Coast. They join previously announced presenters Jessica Alba, Kristen Bell, Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell, Kathryn Hahn, Wiz Khalifa, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Idina Menzel, Keke Palmer, Rebecca Romijn, Serayah, Steven Tyler, Lindsey Vonn and Pete Wentz.

This year’s show, which will be hosted by hip-hop artist Ludacris and international music sensation Ciara, will showcase big performances, unexpected collaborations and much-discussed pop culture moments. Including performances by Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, DNCE, The Go-Go’s, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, P!nk, Rihanna, “Kia’s One to Watch” Troye Sivan, Britney Spears, Meghan Trainor, and collaborations with Fifth Harmony featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Nick Jonas with Tove Lo, and Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani, and Madonna will honor Prince.

They join a star-studded lineup of previously announced must-see performers including 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Imagine Dragons, Jason Derulo, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Luke Bryan, OneRepublic and Pitbull. The first performer announced today is one of this year’s most talked-about music superstars, Miley Cyrus. An exciting new addition to the Billboard Music Awards lineup, Miley is a finalist in eight categories this year: Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist, Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Hot 100 Song and Top Streaming Song. Cyrus will be performing remotely, from across the pond on her Bangerz tour, in Manchester, England.

Also announced today was a star-studded line up of presenters for the live awards show. The Billboard Music Awards and Chevrolet are teaming up to celebrate the impact of this year’s hitmakers with the second annual Milestone Award at the “2014 Billboard Music Awards” broadcasting live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 18 on ABC at 8:00 PM ET/PT. Fans can vote for their favorite Milestone artist online and enter a contest for a chance to win an opportunity to present the award live at this year’s event alongside global music superstar and Billboard Music Award winner Kelly Rowland.

The special editorial award will be given to an innovative artist who has achieved a notable chart milestone over the past year. The six finalists for the 2014 Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet were announced today on Billboard.com – they are: Imagine Dragons, John Legend, Luke Bryan, OneRepublic, Ellie Goulding and Carrie Underwood.

“I’m really looking forward to presenting the Chevrolet Milestone Award at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. I love being able to recognize fellow artists for their accomplishments and having the opportunity to present with a fan will make the evening that much more exciting!” said Kelly Rowland.

Voting is now open on Billboard.com/milestone. The six finalists will be narrowed down to three finalists, who will be announced on the website on April 21st. Voting will then continue through the first two hours of the live 2014 Billboard Music Awards broadcast, culminating with the announcement of the award winner during the last hour of the show.

Keep Memory Alive’s 16th annual Power of Love Gala on Saturday, Feb. 18, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas brought out some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment to celebrate Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday and raise funds for the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and the Muhammad Ali Center.

 

Highlights of the evening included a heartfelt “Happy Birthday” serenade by Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg leading the crowd in chanting “Ali” during his performance of “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” and famed boxers Sugar Ray Leonard, Evander Holyfield and Tommy “Hitman” Hearns joining LL Cool J on stage for “Mama Said Knock You Out.” Stars like Sean Combs, Samuel L. Jackson, Terrence Howard and David Beckham gave personal remarks and remembrances about “The Greatest” while Lenny Kravitz, Cee Lo Green and Kelly Rowland performed for Ali and the sold-out crowd of about 2,000.

The once-in-a-lifetime birthday celebration, “Ali 70th From Las Vegas,” will air nationally on ESPN2 on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 10 p.m. local time in all markets. ABC will air the celebration in Las Vegas at 4 p.m. PT that day as well. For possible ABC broadcast in all other markets, viewers should check their local listings.

In keeping with its 16-year history, the Power of Love Gala showcased a celebrity-chef-packed dinner featuring creations by Tom Colicchio, Scott Conant, Michael Mina and Wolfgang Puck. Guests were treated to a Dom Perignon reception and were able to bid on one-of-a-kind live and silent auction items, including Muhammad Ali’s boxing gloves he wore to defeat Floyd Patterson in Las Vegas in 1965 and an extravagant vacation of a lifetime for two couples on David Copperfield’s private island in the Bahamas.

The gala’s celebration for Ali aligns with the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health’s recent launch of a landmark study examining the long-term brain health of professional fighters. Aiming to improve the safety and health of fighters, the study will help determine whether magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, along with other tests, can detect subtle changes in brain health that correlate with impaired thinking and functioning.  Researchers hope the information uncovered by this research will eventually result in better ways to prevent permanent brain injury in not only fighters, but also in others who may suffer from brain trauma.

The star-studded celebration for Ali honored the boxing legend’s contribution to the world and raised awareness for Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.
