Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas Makes History with KultureCity Partnership

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas Partners with KultureCity to
Become First Sensory Inclusive Bowling Alley in the World

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is officially the first bowling alley to partner with KultureCity, making the venue the first sensory inclusive bowling alley in the world. This ground-breaking partnership was teased by acclaimed Imagine Dragons’ drummer and KultureCity board member, Daniel Platzman at Nevada Public Radio Trivia Night hosted at Brooklyn Bowl earlier this summer.

“It is incredibly fulfilling for me to see the iconic bowling alley and music venue from my hometown, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, join the KultureCity sensory inclusive movement,” said KultureCity board member Daniel Platzman. “I am extremely proud to be a part of this nonprofit and their dedication to inclusion and acceptance of all individuals regardless of their unique abilities.”

Nearly one in five people worldwide live with a disability. KultureCity, a startup nonprofit that strives to create a community of acceptance and inclusion for all individuals, is working to remove societal barriers and prejudices by partnering with companies to promote true acceptance of individuals with unique abilities. By KultureCity providing Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas with the necessary tools, the venue is now the first sensory inclusive certified bowling alley in the world. In order to become certified, all Brooklyn Bowl employees received training on sensory needs such as PTSD, autism and dementia. Additionally, Brooklyn Bowl is now stocked with “Sensory Bags” that feature sensory headphones, fidget tools, KultureCity VIP Access Passes and Feeling Zone Thermometers that provide individuals with a way to share how they are feeling by pointing to a color zone. Additionally, a Quiet Area will be designated as a safe space for individuals to escape the noise.

Gramatik has always been an early adapter. It began at the age of 3, when his mother would catch him glued to the radio in his older sister’s room, checking out the cassette tapes with American funk, jazz, soul and blues. He started making his first beats on an early PC by the time he was 13, and soon the kid from Portoroz, Slovenia figured out how to harvest the power of free file sharing to build a following throughout the US & Europe. Tracks spread, hype grew, tours followed, and before long his digital persona forged the initial inroads into the US market, securing him both a label and an agency.  Gramatik landed on US soil as a fully formed artist who knows how to do things his way.Gramatik recently announced the launch of his own record label Lowtemp and offered his fans a first glimpse of the song with his video for “Bluestep”.  The cut combines the vibes of raw 50’s and 60’s Blues with a melodic, groove-infused Dubstep beat – the result is a signature Gramatik genre clash, also what he refers to as “Bluestep”.This fall we’ll see Gramatik trek across the US and Europe with his Coil production in tow.  The dates will all feature his crew and fellow Lowtemp artist, ExMag supporting alongside HeRobust on select dates. Age of reason or reason enough, the revolution begins now.

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is the brand’s third location. With three levels spanning over 80,000 square feet, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is one of the largest performance venues in America and is described by People Magazine as being “on the fast path to being Vegas’über cool place.” Located at The LINQ, the open-air district in the center of the Las Vegas Strip, the multi-dimensional space boasts 32 lanes of bowling, five on-site bars and rockin’ comfort food by the world-renowned Bromberg Brothers’ Blue Ribbon Restaurants, including their iconic Fried Chicken celebrated on Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” On any given night, more than 2,000 concertgoers can enjoy live music programming from the general admission area, the luxurious bowlers’ lounges adjacent to the lanes, or the private lounge boxes overlooking it all. Since opening in March 2014, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas has seen notable performances by Elvis Costello & The Roots, Jane’s Addiction, Phil Lesh & Friends, Primus, O.A.R. and Steve Winwood.

The original location opened in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn in 2009 in the former Hecla Iron Works building (built in 1882) and was the first L.E.E.D. certified bowling alley in the world. Brooklyn Bowl New York has hosted countless notable performances, including shows by Kanye West, Adele, Paul Simon, Moby and Guns N’Roses and has been named Zagat’s “Best Music Venue – New York City” for three consecutive years (as well as “Best Bowling Alley” and “Best Brooklyn Venue”) and one of the best clubs in America by Rolling Stone.  Eater described their menu as “epic,” while The New Yorker hailed the club’s unprecedented combination of top-flight music, beer, bowling, and food as “like nailing a spare on a four-ten split.” The second Brooklyn Bowl location opened in January 2014 at The O2 in London, and was hailed by the London Evening Standard as a “…wonderland of food, drink, music and pins”.
