2016 TOP FINALIST CHART FACTS:
  • Adele is a finalist in eight categories and is a contender to earn the most BBMA wins of any artist in history, a record currently held by Taylor Swift, with 20 wins. Adele has previously won 13 BBMAs. Swift herself is a finalist in eight 2016 BBMA categories.

  • Justin Bieber is a finalist in 11 categories and could surpass Garth Brooks, who currently is the highest winning male with 19 wins, if he takes home six or more BBMA trophies. If Bieber takes home more than eight trophies, he has the chance of beating Taylor Swift’s current all-time leading record of 20, pending other results.

  • Drake is a finalist in 10 categories. If he wins, he will take home his first BBMA trophy. He has previously been a finalist in 21 categories.

  • First time finalist Fetty Wap is a contender in 10 categories, including Top Male Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artists, Top Rap Artist, Top Streaming Song (Audio) and Top Rap Song.

  • Hillsong UNITED is a finalist in three categories including Top Christian Artist and Top Christian Album.

  • Sam Hunt is a finalist in three categories – the most of any country artist this year — including Top Country Artist and Top Country Album. If he wins, he will take home his first BBMA trophy.
  • First time finalist Silentó is a contender for Top New Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Song, Top Streaming Songs Artist and Top Streaming Song (Video).
  • This year could prove to be historic, in that Taylor Swift could beat her own all-time record for the most BBMA wins (she has 20), while Justin Bieber and Adele are also vying to surpass Swift’s record. Swift is a finalist in eight categories this year, and thus could extend her own record, or can be caught or surpassed by Bieber (an 11 times finalist this year with 13 prior BBMA trophies) or Adele (a finalist in 8 categories this year and also with 13 all-time BBMAs to her name).
  • The Weeknd is a first-time Billboard Music Award finalist and leads all artists with nods in 16 categories (including multiple songs competing in the Top Hot 100 Song and Top R&B Song categories). If he wins, he will take home his first Billboard Music Award trophy. With a near sweep of his 16 categories, The Weeknd could set the record for taking home the most trophies in one night. That single-night mark is held by Adele with 12 trophies in 2012.
  • Thanks to their smash collaboration “See You Again,” Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa are finalists in six categories each, including Top New Artist for Puth, a category won by Khalifa in 2012.
Billboard Music Awards finalists are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital songs sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. These measurements are tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. The awards are based on the reporting period of tracking dates March 23, 2015 through March 17, 2016 and Billboard chart dates April 11, 2015 through April 2, 2016.  Since 1940, the Billboard charts have been the go-to guide for ranking the popularity of songs and albums, and are the ultimate measure of a musician’s success.ABC’s three-hour telecast of the “2015 Billboard Music Awards” scored an across-the-board victory, ranking No. 1 in its 8:00-11:00 p.m. time slot in Total Viewers, all key Adults (AD18-34/AD18-49/AD25-54) and Teens 12-17.  Delivering its third-straight year of Total Viewer growth (+5% – 11.2 million vs. 10.7 million) and gaining Adults 18-49 (+9% – 3.8/12 vs. 3.5/10), the “Billboard Music Awards” generated its most watched telecast in 14 years and earned a 12-year high in young adults – since 2001 and 2003, respectively. In addition, the annual show was up for the third year with Teens 12-17 (+3%) to post its highest rating since 2003.

2016 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARD FINALIST STATISTICS

  • 2016 TOP FINALIST CHART FACTS
  • RECORD HOLDERS BY CATEGORY
  • TOP BBMA WINNERS OF ALL TIME (1990 – 2015)

2016 TOP FINALIST CHART FACTS:

  • Adele, a 13-time Billboard Music Award winner, stormed Billboard‘s charts in late 2015 with her blockbuster third studio album, 25, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 3.38 million copies in its first week in the U.S., the largest sales week for an album since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991. The album has already sold more than 8 million copies in America, and is the largest-selling release since Adele’s own previous set, 21. The new album’s lead single, “Hello,” spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the first song to sell more than 1 million downloads in a week.

  • Despite his monster success since his 2009 career launch, 13-time Billboard Music Award winner Justin Bieber soared even higher with the release of his album Purpose in 2015. His sixth No. 1 set on the Billboard 200 generated his first three Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles: “What Do You Mean?” (which debuted on top), “Sorry” and “Love Yourself.” Like The Weeknd, Bieber replaced himself atop the Hot 100 with the latter two songs. Bieber also broke a vaunted Hot 100 record, placing 17 songs on the Dec. 5, 2015 chart, passing the Beatles and Drake for the most titles on the list by an artist in one week.

  • Drake not only earned his fifth consecutive No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with What a Time to Be Alive (with Future), but also claimed two chart-toppers in less than a year’s time, as it arrived nearly eight months after his previous No. 1, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. Drake has placed more than 100 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 (one of only four acts to reach that milestone) and scored 15 No. 1s on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, including “Hotline Bling,” “Summer Sixteen,” “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and “The Motto.”

  • Fetty Wap blasted onto Billboard‘s charts in 2015 with three consecutive career-opening top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 (“Trap Queen,” “My Way” and “679”), making him just the third hip-hop act to earn that triple honor since 1990 (joining Chingy and M.C. Hammer). Fetty Wap’s self-titled debut album bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spent its first six months lodged in the list’s top 40.

  • Charlie Puth made his Billboard Hot 100 bow in 2015 as the featured vocalist on Wiz Khalifa’s 12-week No. 1 smash “See You Again.” He followed with two more top 25 hits: “Marvin Gaye,” ft. Meghan Trainor, and “One Call Away,” both from his top 10 Billboard 200 debut album, Nine Track Mind.

  • Eighteen-year-old rapper Silentó broke through in 2015 with his viral sensation “Watch Me,” which ruled the Hot Rap Songs chart for nine weeks and the Streaming Songs chart for 10 weeks. The track sold more than 2.3 million downloads and generated 650 million on-demand streams in the U.S.

  • The winner of a record 20 Billboard Music Awards, Taylor Swift has debuted her last four studio albums at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with the last three all selling in excess of 1 million copies each in their first weeks. Combined, they have spent 35 weeks at No. 1. The country-turned-pop superstar has charted more than 60 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including 19 top 10s, with four of those reaching No. 1.

  • WALK THE MOON rocketed to a record with its crossover smash “Shut Up and Dance,” leading the Hot Rock Songs chart for 27 weeks. It also reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in a more-than year-long stay on the chart.

  • When Wiz Khalifa‘s Furious 7 soundtrack hit, “See You Again,” ft. Charlie Puth, spent its 12th (and final) week atop the Billboard Hot 100, it tied a historic mark, matching the most weeks a rap song has ever led the list. The song became the rapper’s second leader, while he’s run up a resume of 30 chart entries since his 2011 arrival with the No. 1 “Black and Yellow.”

Fremont Street Experience to Host Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band
Salute To The Troops Free Concert

Disabled Veterans Travel to Vegas from Walter Reed at Naval Support Activity Bethesda & Fort Belvoir

Fremont Street Experience will host, for the third year, a special post-Veterans Day free concert featuring actor/humanitarian Gary Sinise’s Lt. Dan Band. Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band’s “Salute To The Troops” concert at Fremont Street Experience will be Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. on the 1st Street Stage The event will kick off with the Nellis Air Force Base Color Guard and Lt. Daniel Vargas singing the National Anthem.

A program of the Gary Sinise Foundation, the Lt. Dan Band has a singular mission when it puts on a concert: Honor. Gratitude. Rock and Roll. It’s a high energy performance as the twelve-member group covers hits from classic to contemporary, featuring the songs of Stevie Wonder, Kelly Clarkson, Adele, the Zac Brown Band, and more – there are even swing tunes from the 1940’s. You name it, there’s something for everyone. Whether boosting morale on military bases at home and abroad, raising awareness at benefit concerts across the country, or headlining a Gary Sinise Foundation Invincible Spirit Festival, the band entertains and inspires and it is Gary’s mission to deliver a message of giving back to our defenders wherever the band performs.

In addition to the Gary Sinise Foundation, this year’s event is made possible thanks to sponsors American Airlines, MGM Resorts International, USO Metro, Fort Worth Airpower Foundation, and Fremont Street Experience.

“Every year we like to show our gratitude for all that our active and retired military have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice for our country, said Tom Bruny, Director of Marketing of Fremont Street Experience. We are thrilled to have Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band return to Fremont Street Experience for the third year and be a part of this special tribute to our soldiers. We are also honored that we could welcome affected soldiers from around the country to enjoy this special concert.”

Sinise, who played Lt. Dan Taylor in the movie Forrest Gump and starred on the long running TV show CSI: NY, is founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping and honoring U.S. service members, veterans, first responders and their families. His band has performed for troops all over the world. The concert is free and open to the public. A VIP area will be set up in front of the stage to be exclusively used by approximately 150 disabled veterans from both Walter Reed at Naval Support Activity Bethesda & Fort Belvoir. This trip is sponsored & produced by American Airlines, which charters a plane to fly the disabled veterans to Las Vegas.  The Mirage is their host hotel while in Vegas and Landry’s Bubba Gump restaurant at Planet Hollywood will be hosting them for a pre-concert dinner.

About Gary Sinise and Gary Sinise Foundation
Actor/humanitarian Gary Sinise has been actively and tirelessly supporting the troops for over thirty years.  Among his numerous film and television roles, it was his portrayal of Lt. Dan Taylor in the landmark film Forrest Gump which formed an enduring connection with servicemen and women throughout the military community.  After several USO handshake tours in 2003, Sinise formed the “Lt. Dan Band” and began entertaining troops serving at home and abroad. Performing pop hits to classic rock staples, the 12-member cover band has played for over half-a-million troops and their families. His endless work on behalf of those who’ve served has earned Sinise many distinguished awards including The Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment from the Medal of Honor Society, the Spirit of the USO Award, The Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the Spirit of Hope Award by the Department of Defense, and most recently the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award from the National Defense Industrial Association. He is the 2015 recipient of the Sylvanus Thayer award from the West Point Association of Graduates and in 2008 he received the Presidential Citizens Medal, the second-highest civilian honor awarded to citizens for exemplary deeds performed in service of the nation, only the third actor ever to receive this honor. He was named an Honorary Chief Petty Officer by the United States Navy and an Honorary Marine by the United States Marine Corp.

In 2011, Sinise started the Gary Sinise Foundation with a mission to honor defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities. These include its R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence and Supporting Empowerment), whose flagship initiative is a specially adapted custom Smart Home building project for severely wounded veterans.  Each home is customized to ease daily challenges and help restore independence with features like retractable cook tops, cabinets and shelving, elevators and more, all accessible via an iPad.  The Gary Sinise Foundation is constructing these one-of-a-kind homes all across the country, each for a wounded hero, their caregivers and family. Other programs include Relief & Resiliency Outreach, Soaring Valor, Invincible Spirit Festivals, and Arts & Entertainment Outreach.  Over the years, the Foundation has formed numerous corporate partnerships that support many of the Foundation’s programs.

The Gary Sinise Foundation (Federal Tax ID 80-0587086) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity as defined in sections 509(A)(1) and 170(B)(1)(A)(VI) of the Internal Revenue Code. Combined Federal Campaign, CFC #27963. For more information, visit garysinisefoundation.org.

ABOUT GRAMATIK:
Gramatik has always been an early adapter. It began at the age of 3, when his mother would catch him glued to the radio in his older sister’s room, checking out the cassette tapes with American funk, jazz, soul and blues. He started making his first beats on an early PC by the time he was 13, and soon the kid from Portoroz, Slovenia figured out how to harvest the power of free file sharing to build a following throughout the US & Europe. Tracks spread, hype grew, tours followed, and before long his digital persona forged the initial inroads into the US market, securing him both a label and an agency.  Gramatik landed on US soil as a fully formed artist who knows how to do things his way.Gramatik recently announced the launch of his own record label Lowtemp and offered his fans a first glimpse of the song with his video for “Bluestep”.  The cut combines the vibes of raw 50’s and 60’s Blues with a melodic, groove-infused Dubstep beat – the result is a signature Gramatik genre clash, also what he refers to as “Bluestep”.This fall we’ll see Gramatik trek across the US and Europe with his Coil production in tow.  The dates will all feature his crew and fellow Lowtemp artist, ExMag supporting alongside HeRobust on select dates. Age of reason or reason enough, the revolution begins now. http://www.gramatik.net

The original location opened in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn in 2009 in the former Hecla Iron Works building (built in 1882) and was the first L.E.E.D. certified bowling alley in the world. Brooklyn Bowl New York has hosted countless notable performances, including shows by Kanye West, Adele, Paul Simon, Moby and Guns N’Roses and has been named Zagat’s “Best Music Venue – New York City” for three consecutive years (as well as “Best Bowling Alley” and “Best Brooklyn Venue”) and one of the best clubs in America by Rolling Stone.  Eater described their menu as “epic,” while The New Yorker hailed the club’s unprecedented combination of top-flight music, beer, bowling, and food as “like nailing a spare on a four-ten split.” The second Brooklyn Bowl location opened in January 2014 at The O2 in London, and was hailed by the London Evening Standard as a “…wonderland of food, drink, music and pins”.

From June 21 through August 31, ice cream lovers will be able to indulge in one of the venue’s many decadent desserts for a cause. For all ice cream-inspired desserts sold at Brooklyn Bowl, such as Fresh Berry Sundae, Banana Split, Milkshakes (vanilla, chocolate and strawberry) or Bourbon St. Shake with Nutella, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Three Square Food Bank and the fight against hunger in Southern Nevada. For every dollar, Three Square can provide up to three meals for hungry families, seniors and children in need.

The sizzling summer dining experiences continue with a weekend brunch worthy to rise and shine for.   Every Saturday and Sunday from noon-4pm, Brooklyn Bowl offers an appetizing brunch with plentiful menu items including The Jim Morrison, a 10” pancake with fried chicken, available in dark, white or mixed; Challah French Toast with Cedarvale maple syrup; Cinnamon Toast Pizza with strawberries, bananas and Nutella; Meat Frittata with sausage, roast pork, bacon and smoked chicken; Sloppy Josephine with queso fresco, baked eggs, mashed potatoes and Sloppy Joe; and a Hangover Chicken Soup with jalapeno, cilantro and lime, to soak up the weekend fun.  Refreshing “Lucky 7” mimosa, Bloody Mary and Drunken Palmer drink specials are available for $7 each. Brooklyn Bowl Brunch is designed with families in mind, as the expansive venue offers 32 Brunswick bowling lanes where brunch is also served lane side, for an afternoon of family fun. Sprawling high-definition screens offer guests the opportunity to savor the latest sports game, while children can enjoy their favorite weekend programing, all in the same location.

Additional palate and wallet pleasing offerings include a daily summer special of Fried Chicken Sandwich (deep-fried boneless chicken, cheese, house made mayonnaise, pickled cucumbers and sliced tomatoes, served with seasoned French Fries); Blue Ribbon Wings (12 wings, made deep-fried or smoked BBQ glazed, served with house made Bleu cheese dressing; or Grilled Chicken Salad (blackened chicken breast, aged parmesan cheese, and roasted garlic crustiness), priced at $9.95. This special is available daily for lunch from noon-4pm and midnight-closing.  Happy hour is also available Monday-Thursday from noon-6pm with quenching libations.

We wish everyone at Harrah’s Las Vegas well and best of luck in the future including all their current and future entertainment offerings,” said Connie Clark, Assistant General Manager of Legends Las Vegas production. Clark added, “The Legends family is pleased to give back to the local community and to honor those who have long championed our show, with an array of wonderful festivities planned for next year during our pearl anniversary season.”
