Fashion Show Las Vegas and American Red Cross to Host Additional Blood Drives this July

WHAT:

Fashion Show Las Vegas will team up with the American Red Cross to host three additional blood drives during the month of July. Guests able to donate blood are welcome to visit the property’s pop-up donor location on the first floor near Macy’s Men’s on June 23 and 26, 2020, as well as July 15, 16, and 29, 2020, by appointment.

 

The American Red Cross has an urgent need for blood donations to prevent another blood shortage as hospitals resume surgical procedures and patient treatments that were temporarily paused earlier this spring in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Red Cross is now testing all blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies for a limited time, providing donors insight into whether they have been exposed to this coronavirus. Donors who help support the urgent need by giving at this drive will be able to view their results 7-10 days after donation through the Red Cross Blood Donor App or at RedCrossBlood.org. Thanks to Amazon, all those who come to give June 1-30 will receive a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card via email.*

Each Red Cross blood drive and donation center follows the highest standards of safety and infection control, and additional precautions – including temperature checks, social distancing and face coverings for donors and staff – have been implemented to protect the health of all those in attendance.

 

Donation appointments can be made by downloading the free Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device and use sponsor code FashionShowRetail.

Donors are asked to schedule an appointment prior to arriving at the drive and are required to wear a face covering or mask while at the drive, in alignment with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention public guidance.

FASHION SHOW LAS VEGAS TEAMS UP WITH THE MASK TASK FORCE POWERED BY THE LAS VEGAS FASHION COUNCIL TO PROVIDE 400 MASKS TO THE VALLEY HEALTH SYSTEM

 

In partnership with the Mask Task Force powered by the Las Vegas Fashion Council, Fashion Show Las Vegas today announced a donation of 400 handcrafted masks to The Valley Health System, including Summerlin, Centennial Hills, Desert Springs, Henderson, Spring Valley and Valley Medical Centers. Crafted by local designer Larissa Navarro, owner of Tailor Shop by Larissa, the Las Vegas Fashion Council and Fashion Show Las Vegas together provided support to both local aid workers and medical personnel in need of face masks and face coverings.

“Our thoughts are with all those in Southern Nevada dealing with the health impacts related to the coronavirus, especially our first responders and front-line workers,” said Brent Gardner, general manager of Fashion Show Las Vegas. “Through our donation, in partnership with the Las Vegas Fashion Council and local designer Larissa Navarro, we hope that our donation can help the local Las Vegas community in the fight against the pandemic.”

 

Navarro has provided nearly 5000 face masks and face coverings to date, producing from 150 up to 300 masks per day. Each mask is made of 100% woven cotton and are machine washable, as well as CDC approved.

 

The Mask Task Force powered by Las Vegas Fashion Council was assembled due to the dire news of the mask shortage, amongst other items, to fight the COVID-19 crisis and support our front line medical and health workers, senior centers, food banks, CCSD food distribution volunteers and more. The Mask Task Force has donated over 4000 masks to the Las Vegas community due to generous support of volunteers and sponsors similar to Fashion Show Las Vegas.  Week of Fashion is coming to Fashion Show Las Vegas. The premier shopping destination on the Las Vegas Strip will showcase a variety of diverse and innovative runway shows featuring high fashion designers at The Great Hall, in partnership with the Las Vegas Fashion Council, February 26 through March 1.

 Fashion Show Las Vegas will ring in Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rat with a celebratory affair, starting on January 26. Guests are invited to celebrate the new year with an array of Chinese-inspired entertainment experiences in honor of Lunar New Year.

 

On Sunday, January 26 at 2 p.m., guests will be able to experience the ultimate Chinese New Year celebration with a variety of cultural performances designed by Entertainment Plus Productions. The two-hour spectacle will feature a customary lion and dragon dance on stilts, followed by a selection of cultural dances and a one-of-a-kind lantern dance show. Fashion Show General Manager Brent Gardner will be on-hand as the lion and dragon dancers parade through the shopping destination to bless and wish good fortune upon each of the department stores and feed the lion money to bring good luck for the new year.

 

Fashion Show Las Vegas will also feature a lantern dance, available at both The Great Hall and on The Plaza, during its 15-day celebration. The show will be available at 2, 6, and 8 p.m. at The Great Hall and on the exterior digital screens on The Plaza at 2, 6, 8, 10 p.m. and midnight, from January 26 through February 8. In addition, guests will be treated to a spectacular “East Meets West Runway Show” experience on February 1.

Iconic shopping destination ups the ante of its one-of-a-kind art programming with an all-new 3D mural paying tribute to Nevada’s desert landscape

 

In partnership with local artist Michael Dodson and curator Patrick Duffy, Fashion Show Las Vegas – the area’s premier shopping, dining and experience venue – has debuted a larger than life three-dimensional mural on the northern Plaza staircase. The nature-inspired painted installation titled, ‘Be Kind to Bugs’ pays tribute to Nevada’s desert landscape.

 

Located on the northern strip-side Plaza staircase near Neiman Marcus, the mural resembles the natural beauty of Nevada and boasts a vibrant desert landscape. The multi-dimensional mural showcases pulsating hues that shift gradually from one to another and feature desert tones of red, orange and yellow in honor of Red Rock Canyon. In addition, the delicate and rugged scenery is complemented by an array of cacti and flowers, plus a colorful arrangement of butterflies that dance through the air.

“There is nothing more exciting than seeing an idea come to life, especially here in Las Vegas,” explains Duffy, CEO of the Nevada School of the Arts. “Now in our second staircase installment on The Plaza, we have been able to create not one, but two really unique concepts at Fashion Show that add a little color to Las Vegas, and after months of curation, I am beyond thrilled with the art installation Michael has created. It’s certainly a must-see art piece in the Las Vegas community.”

This one-of-a-kind artistic experience features over 50 unique colors, painted entirely by freehand, and took the artist 15 days to complete. Showcasing various gradients of the desert landscape, ‘Be Kind to Bugs’ joins Fashion Show’s ever evolving colorful art program on The Plaza. A Las Vegas native, Michael Dodson holds a Bachelor of Science, with an emphasis in studio art from Skidmore College in New York. His studies led him to Christie’s Education in New York City, where he earned his master’s degree in contemporary and modern art history, as well as the history of the art market. Before returning to his hometown in 2015, Dodson worked with art galleries, auction houses, web-based art galleries and print studios in New York City. Looking to share his passion for art and education, he served as the Artist-in-Residence at Opportunity Village’s New Opportunities for Visionary Arts (NOVA) initiative and at The Rogers Foundation, where he taught art classes to at-risk youth through the Foundation CORE Academy. Several of Dodson’s works, emanating from large-scale commissions, are currently on view throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

World’s Largest Custom Apparel Brand Arrives at Fashion Show Las Vegas on December 21

Stance Set to Open Retail Location at Fashion Show Las Vegas on July 27

The new retail location invites shopper to uncover its uncommon line of elevated basics

 

Stance, the brand known for turning socks into a statement piece, today announced that it will open the doors of its newest retail location at Fashion Show Las Vegas on Friday, July 27. Located on the first level near Saks Fifth Avenue, the store is just the eighth store for the brand, and only its third location in the western United States.

The store opens shortly after Stance launched its first t-shirt collection, solidifying its position as an elevated dual-gender basics brand with extensive collections of casual and performance socks, men’s underwear and women’s intimates, and t-shirts. With the store opening coming on the heels of the first Stance t-shirt release, the Fashion Show location will be one of three store locations where consumers can experience the new collection in its entirety. Comprised of three different types, Stance’s inaugural t-shirt line showcases the brand’s distinct ability to use innovative material science to reimagine a canvas for self-expression.
