Shoppers rejoice! Queen Bee Market will ‘bee’ back in Las Vegas just in time for fall shopping with a two-day market on Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14 at The Conference Center of Las Vegas.

 

Described as “Etsy comes to life,” the popular urban-style handmade market is feminine and fun, hosting vendors who make their products by hand, then display them in booths that are designed with flair. This will be the 29th Queen Bee Market since its creation in 2010, with artisans showcasing an array of handmade home décor, accessories, clothing, paper arts, vintage items, furniture and more. Attendees can also expect workshops and make-and-take stations.

 

Originally vendors at Queen Bee Market, sisters Kellie Dooley and Allison Gharst became the owners in 2014 and hand-select the vendors who participate in each Queen Bee Market. “We love bringing the market to Las Vegas each year because of the community; we’ve received great feedback from shoppers about how much they love the opportunity to purchase handmade items in a fun shopping atmosphere,” said Dooley, “Plus, a large number of our vendors are Vegas locals.”

 

A sampling of the confirmed participants thus far includes: Benson Threads, Benny and the Bear, Teressa Lane, Juniper Vale and more.

 

Tickets will be priced at $5 per person and will be available for purchase at the door. Children 12 years old and younger and military with ID will receive free entry. Ahead of the expo, Queen Bee Market will also host a Craft Night, led by Kiki Comin at The Conference Center of Las Vegas 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12. The Craft Night will feature food, drinks, giveaways, swag bags and three take-home crafts. Tickets to Craft Night are priced at $85 and will be available for purchase online beginning Wednesday, July 24.

The Las Vegas Aviators® professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, will open a brief four-game homestand against the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, on Thursday, July 11 at Las Vegas Ballpark®.  The four-game series will conclude on Sunday, July 14 and all games will begin at 7:05 p.m.

The Triple-A All-Star break is from Monday-Wednesday, July 8-10. The 2019 Ronald McDonald House Charities Triple-A All-Star Game, the 32nd annual contest featuring the International League vs. Pacific Coast League, will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at Southwest University Park in El Paso, Texas, home of the Chihuahuas, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. The game will begin at 6:05 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on the MLB Network.+

The Aviators organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada. The franchise is playing in their 37th season in the Silver State as a member of the PCL.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, leads the IL in total home attendance and average (378,779 – 8,417 average in 45 dates).

 2019 LAS VEGAS BALLPARK ATTENDANCE: In 45 dates, Las Vegas total is 423,213 for an average of 9,405 (32 sellouts). The season-high sellout crowd was 12,111 vs. Tacoma on May 14 (Smokers Strike Out 16th Annual School Day Game). The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 plateau in “home” attendance in all 37 seasons (1983-2019). The all-time attendance total now stands at 12,424,224.

In 36 seasons at Cashman Field (1983-2016), the attendance total was 12,001,011.

LAS VEGAS BALLPARK WINNER OF 2019 MiLB TRIPLE-A BEST OF THE BALLPARKS FAN VOTE (JULY 1): Las Vegas Ballpark defeated Southwest University Park, home of the El Paso Chihuahuas, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, to win this year’s Triple-A Best of the Ballparks fan vote. Over 85,000 fans voted in all five rounds of the Triple-A Best of the Ballparks fan vote, with almost 500,000 fans voting to date in the overall competition. After several close votes in previous rounds, the final vote resulted in Las Vegas Ballpark with a 55.6% to 44.4% margin win over the El Paso Chihuahuas.

The Aviators, 44-35, are currently on a Northern California four-game road trip against the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, that will conclude on Friday, June 28.

Minor League Baseball announced on Feb. 18, 2019 the second annual Copa de la Diversión® (Fun Cup™) event series taking place during the 2019 season.  MiLB, on July 24, 2017, launched Es Divertido Ser Un Fan, a new multi-cultural fan engagement platform aimed at specifically connecting with Hispanic/Latino baseball fans in 160 markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. The program debuted in August 2017 in select MiLB markets, including Las Vegas, Charlotte, North Carolina; Kane County, Illinois; and Visalia, California, with national expansion implemented in the 2018 season!

TO OPEN IN EARLY 2020 

Emporium Continues National Expansion at AREA15 Las Vegas 

 

 AREA15, the experiential retail and entertainment complex offering live events, immersive activations, art installations and much more, announces its new tenant: Emporium, the ultimate bar and arcade entertainment experience.

This new venue will house the best arcade in Las Vegas featuring nearly 100 classic arcade games including pinball, skee-ball, air hockey, pool tables, foosball, pop-a-shot and much more.             $2 Beer Night will be presented in game two of the series against El Paso on Thursday, April 25. Proper identification is required for $2 beer night. 

HomeAid Southern Nevada, official outreach partner of Southern Nevada Home Builders Association, will sponsor a “Baby Essentials Drive” at the ballpark on Thursday, April 25.

Fans can bring diapers, wipes, bottles, formula and all collected items will be donated to Living Grace Home and The Shade Tree. For each fan donation, they will receive a $5 certificate to use at the concession stand.

The inaugural post-game Fireworks Show in Las Vegas Ballpark will be presented in game three of the series on Friday, April 26.  The game is sold out!

Described as “Etsy comes to life,” the popular urban-style handmade market is feminine and fun, hosting vendors who make their products by hand from booths that are designed with flair. This will be the 27th Queen Bee Market since its creation in 2010, with artisans showcasing an array of handmade home décor, accessories, clothing, paper arts, vintage items, furniture and more. Attendees can also expect live demonstrations and make-and-take stations.

 

Originally vendors at the popular Queen Bee Market, sisters and San Diego natives Kellie Dooley and Allison Gharst became the owners in 2014 and hand-select the vendors who participate in each Queen Bee Market. The Las Vegas 51s PROFESSIONAL baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will open a brief four-game homestand against intrastate rival, the Reno Aces, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, on Thursday, August 9 at Cashman Field.  The four-game series will conclude on Sunday, August 12 and all games in the series will begin at 7:05 p.m.

The 51s, under manager Tony DeFrancesco, concluded a seven-game “Midwest” road trip on Tuesday afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa against the Cubs, Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

The PCL has a scheduled off day on Wednesday, August 8.

The 51s organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada.

            2018 CASHMAN FIELD ATTENDANCE: In 56 dates, Las Vegas total is 256,214 for an average of 4,575. The season-high crowd is 9,321 vs. Salt Lake on July 3 for the Fireworks Extravaganza!  The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 mark in “home” attendance in all 35 seasons (1983-2017).  The all-time attendance total now stands at 11,925,001.

It’s very rare for a whole tour package to work this well musically and socially,” vocalist Anthony Raneri shares. “I have a New Found Glory tattoo and a couple of them have Bayside tattoos. I’ve sang on NFG records and both the members of NFG and Vinnie from the Movielife have sang on Bayside records. The Movielife and NFG might have been two of the first bands that we ever gave our demo to when we first started Bayside. This is a very special tour for us on many levels.

Vacancy is the 7th and latest studio album from Bayside. It was written during an uncertain time for Raneri – the end of a relationship and the beginning of a mission of reflection and self-examination – and represents a case study in self-acceptance. Bayside spent 2017 on tour in support of their latest record, before closing out the year with a highly successful 10 Year Anniversary tour in the U.S. and U.K. in celebration of their third album, The Walking Wounded. “The Walking Wounded was a really important record for us both personally and career wise. It was the record that got us back on our feet after our accident and also marked a big breakout for us professionally,” Raneri explains.”It was the first record and touring cycle that we did with the current line up. We felt it was important to celebrate the ten year anniversary of such an important time in our lives.

Now, with a new year and even more shows ahead, Bayside is ready to keep moving forward.

Macy’s will open its first off price retail experiences, Macy’s Backstage, at the Macy’s location in Meadows Mall, Nev., on Saturday, June 2 and additional locations in Meadowood Mall, Shops at Summerlin Centre, Galleria at Sunset and Las Vegas home store will open later in the fall of 2018. The Meadows Mall opening will mark the introduction of Macy’s off price shopping format to Nevada. Macy’s Backstage provides a store-within-store shopping experience featuring significant savings on fabulous finds. The new outlet store will have approximately 15,800 sqft of dedicated retail space inside the Macy’s location. 

 

 

 

“Our customers are excited about the Macy’s Backstage shopping experience,” said Michelle Israel, Macy’s Senior Vice President of Off Price. “Macy’s Backstage was designed to bring great deals and the fun of the hunt into our existing Macy’s locations. Backstage’s focus on value and newness guarantees that with each visit, shoppers will find an amazingly-priced assortment of recognizable brands and trends. Frequent deliveries ensure there is always a new reason to come in and shop.” 

 

Seven free-standing Backstage stores opened in the Northeast and San Antonio, TX in 2015 and 2016. In the subsequent years, Macy’s has opened more than 40 store-within-store locations, allowing customers to shop both merchandise offerings in one trip to their local mall. There are currently 60 Macy’s Backstage locations across the United States. 

 

Macy’s Backstage is operated by its own buying team who scour the world to find the most fabulous product at the best prices. The metal-god myth himself Danzig will be joining the already-stacked lineup headed to the desert this August for Psycho Las Vegas. The return and reunion of Swedish psychedelic fuzz legends Witchcraft will be playing their first US show since 2009. In line with their reputation for scoring highly coveted sets, Psycho Las Vegas will be only one of two US dates that the band will be performing in 2018. Joining the ranks are Italian purveyors of prog rock, Goblin, most notable for their original scores for Dawn of the Dead & Disturbia; beloved stoned thrashers High On Fire; guitar lord Zakk Sabbath; horror-synth group   S U R V I V E, best known for scoring Stranger Things; the reunion of Chicago doom heavyweights Indian; and UK’s prog masters DVNE, who will be performing their first ever US show at this year’s fest.

For 45 years, drummer Bill Ward has dedicated much of his creative life to rhythm. Ward’s career has taken him to every corner of the planet, with millions of records sold and a recording legacy that includes some of the most acclaimed recordings in the heavy metal genre. With his art collection “Absence of Corners, Ward ventures beyond sound into the visual realm with his rhythm-on-canvas artwork. The collection is a highly personal one and remarkably limited.

Dave Lombardo
(Slayer / Suicidal Tendencies / Dead Cross)
Dave Lombardo has been at the forefront of rhythm for more than three decades. He is the
architect for an entire approach to drumming with a vast recording history stretching into a
multitude of genres and legendary projects. To millions, Lombardo is known as the “Godfather of the Double Bass,” and the creator of thrash metal and speed metal drumming through his work as one of the founding members of Slayer. Lombardo’s musicianship, diverse tastes, and recording legacy stretch far and wide. He is a member of Fantomas, as well as a member of Suicidal Tendencies. He is currently the founding drummer of Dead Cross featuring Mike Patton on vocals.

Steven Adler

Steven Adler is one of the most recognizable figures in rock history. As the founding
drummer of Guns N’ Roses, Adler has toured the world, sold millions of records, and is a part of the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame. His influence on countless drummers is undeniable as is his unmistakable swing that provided the backdrop to some of hard rock’s most revered songs and arguably the most acclaimed album of a genre, “Appetite for Destruction.” Adler currently resides in Los Angeles, where he has become a best selling author and tours with his own band, Adler.

Now in its 23rd year, the Vans Warped Tour continues to solidify itself as the must attend festival over summer for rock and music lovers alike.

In the tradition of celebrating the tour’s musical roots, the lineup includes bands such as CKY, Sick Of It All, Municipal Waste, The Adolescents, Strung Out, T.S.O.L, Anti-Flag, Hatebreed and others, who are legends in the punk, hardcore and metal core world.

Returning this year is the Mutant Party Zone, which will provide festival-goers with two stages dedicated to heavy music from bands such as The Acacia Strain, Being As An Ocean, Blessthefall, Carnifex, Fit For A King, GWAR and any more.

The fully renovated rooftop pool at the Plaza Hotel & Casino, which opened last July to rave reviews, will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a special Plaza Pool Nights Fourth of July party on Saturday, July 1, with live entertainment, drink specials, and a barbecue buffet. The festivities will culminate with a spectacular fireworks show lighting up the downtown skyline.

This summer, the Pool at the Plaza introduced Plaza Pool Nights, dance and swim parties held under the stars on Saturday nights. On Saturday, July 1, the Plaza Pool Nights party will be the biggest yet this season to celebrate the pool’s anniversary and upcoming Fourth of July holiday.

On July 1, there will be music throughout the day at the pool, and in the evening, guests will enjoy live entertainment from Flashbax, an 80’s tribute band.

Beginning at 7 p.m., the cocktail bar at the Pool at the Plaza will offer a holiday drink special. Guests can buy one get one free of the special Firework cocktail (comprised of Strawberry Daiquiri, Pina Colada Rum and Blueberry Lemonade Vodka), which is on the pool bar menu for $10. The pool bar will also offer a selection of frozen and specialty cocktails as well as beer and wine.

On the pool deck, there will be a special barbecue buffet with all-American favorites like baked beans, cornbread, watermelon, BBQ chicken, ribs, brisket, corn, roasted red potatoes, salad and apple pie. The buffet is all-you-can-eat for $25 per person.

At the end of the night, the Plaza will shoot live fireworks from multiple rooftop locations at approximately 10:45 p.m. The show will last approximately 4 minutes, and while the best views will be from the Plaza’s rooftop pool party, the fireworks will no doubt be seen in the sky for miles around.

CBS RADIO’s “SPF” (“SUN.POOL.FUN.”) national concert returns to Vegas on Saturday, May 20 at Boulevard Pool inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas featuring performances by DNCE, Hailee Steinfeld, Jason Derulo, Niall Horan and Post Malone. The announcement was made this morning on KLUC-FM and KMXB-FM, CBS RADIO’s local stations. Show doors open at 8:00 PM, PT.

LA’s monthly Emo Nite event has already had an astonishing 2017 and the team behind it all show no signs of slowing down. All three floors of New York City’s legendary Webster Hall will be taken over on May 4th, 2017 which will include surprises at every turn. Most recently, Emo Nite returned home for the first LA event in 2017, back at The Echo and Echoplex on Tuesday February 7th.
