Get a Haircut and Help a Child Get Medical Treatment at Cuts-4-The-Kids on Sunday, September 15, 2019

This is the 10th year Mosaic Salon at Boca Park has participated in Cuts-4-The-Kids

The public – and first responders – are invited to get a haircut on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Mosaic Salon at Boca Park. This simple act will raise funds for Cure 4 The Kids Foundation’s Charity Care Program which ensures patients without medical insurance or who are unable to pay for services still receive treatment.

For the 10th year, Mosaic Salon is hosting Cuts-4-The-Kids with all stylists donating their time so that all proceeds from haircuts and other salon services go to Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.

“We do not turn patients away from treatment for financial reasons,” said Annette Logan-Parker, president & CEO, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. “One of the ways we keep that promise is by having fundraisers – such as Cuts-4-The-Kids – that help us fund our Charity Care Program which has helped hundreds of families in our community.”

Appointments are being accepted for Sunday, September 15, 2019, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 702-373-2108 or by going online to http://bit.ly/Cuts4TheKids2019 and booking your own appointment.

This year, Cuts-4-The-Kids is encouraging first responders to join in the effort and get their haircut. All law enforcement, firefighters, ambulance companies and others are strongly encouraged to make an appointment.

The public is invited to a special Beauty Carnival on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Mosaic Salon in Boca Park offering haircuts, blowouts, eyebrow waxing, manicures, pedicures, beauty makeovers and consultations — and for the first time — a special Princess Bootcamp!

One hundred (100) percent of the proceeds from all services listed below will benefit the clinics of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, which treats patients with or without medical insurance and regardless of whether a patient can pay for treatment. All stylists, nail technicians and makeup artists are graciously donating their time so that all funds will support Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.

Concluding a month-long philanthropic promotion, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria and local nonprofit Opportunity Village will partner for a night of entertainment and fundraising from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12 at the Grimaldi’s Pizzeria Boca Park location.

Patrons who donate $5 to Opportunity Village now through Wednesday, August 12 will receive a $5 off card to Grimaldi’s to be used during a future visit, and a raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing for prizes. Prizes include gift cards to other popular local restaurants and retail outlets. At the event, guests can also enjoy live entertainment with DJ Deniro spinning the hottest hits throughout the night, as well as a balloon artist to entertain families. Known for its award-winning, coal-fired, brick oven pizza and calzones, Grimaldi’s is proud to support Opportunity Village and their mission.

Hussong’s Cantina is spicing up Summerlin’s restaurant scene with a hybrid location of the popular Mexican restaurant. Now open in Boca Park Fashion Village, Hussong’s new fast-casual dining experience gives a fun twist on classic Mexican favorites with diverse taco options, a full-service bar and the award-winning Original Margarita. Debuting just in time for the summer, guests can also kick back and enjoy delicious food and drinks on the spacious, outdoor patio.

 

“At Hussong’s we’re continuing to evolve and always want to create a fun dining atmosphere to match our guests’ diverse interests and tastes,” said Scott Frost, President of Titan Brands. “We’re excited to open our third location in Nevada, and introduce Chef Noe’s unique Mexican fare to Summerlin.”

 

Hussong’s new location offers a wide-variety of classic, specialty and veggie tacos. Specialty tacos include Kung Pow Shrimp with creamy garlic chili sauce, cabbage mix and agave roasted peanuts; Achiote Ribeye with guacamole, radish, pickled chile guero, onions and micro greens; Grilled Salmon with cucumber and roasted pepper mix, Sriracha aioli and micro greens; and seared Pork Belly with raddichio cabbage mix, maple bacon aioli and chicharones. For non-meat eaters, the Shrooms taco features a beer battered Portobello, tahini yogurt sauce, kale, habanero rings and pamesean cheese. Diners can also enjoy an array of classic Mexican sides to go alongside their tacos including Hussong’s famous street style corn, cilantro rice, beans and more.  Additionally, all of the eatery’s tacos can be served as a salad or rice bowl, and vegan options are available upon request.

BOCA PARK SUMMERLIN RESTAURANT BEGINS POURING FUN SUMMER 2015

 

Hussong’s Cantina, the Ensenada original which debuted with its first U.S. location in 2010 at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place, followed by a second location in Reno in 2013, will expand with a third location.  The restaurant, which offers Mexican fare with a Baja twist, award-winning margaritas and a buoyant atmosphere, will open this summer in the Boca Park Fashion Village on the west side of Las Vegas.

 

The opening of this new 3,250 square-foot location marks the debut of the first premium fast-casual location with a full bar, providing all of the ambiance of Hussong’s and the famed margarita with a pared down menu for quick and easy service.

 

Corporate Executive Chef Noe Alcala, who oversees all of the U.S. outposts of the brand, will spearhead the menu, with the front of house managed by Brian Mangino, a partner who has been named U.S. Director of Operations for the Hussong’s USA.

 

Highlights of the new menu include expanded taco offerings with new to market specialty items and a one-of-a-kind salsa bar with a variety of unique flavors.

 

The margarita was created at Hussong’s Cantina Ensenada in 1941 and the now-famous Original Margarita, which took home Best of Las Vegas honors in 2015, will remain the signature libation, backed by an inventive and expansive cocktail menu.

Raises $4,242.50 for Cure 4 The Kids Foundation

Funds Support Treatment For Patients Without Medical Insurance or Ability to Pay

More than four thousand dollars was raised in about six hours at Mosaic Salon at Boca Park during a special haircut-a-thon benefiting Cure 4 The Kids Foundation’s Charity Care program.

This is the sixth year Mosaic Salon has opened its doors on a Sunday and provided stylists and nail techs who donate their time so all proceeds from haircuts, manicures, pedicures and eyebrow waxings go directly to the Charity Care Program. The program ensures children facing a number of life-threatening conditions – cancer, blood disorders, rare and ultra rare diseases and genetic conditions – get the treatment they need even if they are without medical insurance or the family cannot afford to pay for treatment.

“Mosaic Salon has been such a strong supporter of our clinic, The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada and we are so thankful to have them as dedicated advocates again this year,” said Annette Logan, President and CEO of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. “Without this fund and our clinic to help them, many kids without medical insurance or the ability to pay for treatment would have no place to go.”

In all, Mosaic Salon stylists and nail techs provided 56 haircuts, 37 manicures and pedicures and eight eyebrow waxes. An onsite raffle also raised funds for the Charity Care Program.

More than 500 children have received treatment through the Charity Care Program since Cure 4 The Kids Foundation was founded in 2007.

About Cure 4 The Kids:

The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada and the Hemophilia Treatment Center Of Nevada are funded, in part, by the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. The 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization was founded in 2007 by Dr. Jonathan Bernstein to ensure children with life threatening illnesses received proper medical attention regardless of their family’s income or presence of health insurance. To date, more than 8,000 patients have been treated by physicians and medical staff at the Children’s Specialty Center and Hemophilia Treatment Center. It is one of 140 HTCs around the country which provides individual services to children and adults with inherited bleeding disorders. Studies show people with Hemophilia who are treated at Federally recognized HTCs have lower overall healthcare costs, lower hospitalization rates and lower mortality rates than non-HTC users. Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is celebrating National Cheesecake Day on Wednesday, July 30th with a special dessert promotion. Known for its award-winning, coal-fired, brick oven pizza, the Italian pizzeria is celebrating this holiday by offering guests a free slice of cheesecake with any purchase of $25 or more.

Following the holiday marks the beginning of a new selection of cheesecakes at Grimaldi’s. The fall seasonal cheesecakes begin Friday, August 1st and will include some of the season’s best flavors. From August to October you can enjoy two fall favorites. The first is a caramel apple cheesecake that will take you back to your childhood memories of the fair. It includes a rich caramel and green apple cheesecake topped with caramel and whipped cream. The second option is a chocoholic’s dream. It is a chocolate cheesecake served with chocolate syrup and topped with whipped cream.

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria will continue to offer its traditional dessert menu for guests to choose from which includes: Tiramisu, Housemade Cheesecakes—New York Style or Oreo Cookie—priced at $5 each and Grimaldi’s Famous Cannoli for $4.50.

The Quattro Formaggio Pizza is Grimaldi’s crispy thin crust topped with melted Romano, Gorgonzola, Parmesan, Asiago cheeses and since its pizza Grimaldi’s signature, handmade mozzarella cheese. This pizza is available at all Grimaldi’s Pizzeria Las Vegas locations. Grimaldi’s pizzas are prepared fresh daily and range from $9 – $18 depending on size.

Continuing through September 24 is Tuesday Tastings where guests will receive half off on all glasses, carafes and bottles of wine ordered every Tuesday from open to close. Girl Scouts visited Grimaldi’s Pizzeria on Saturday, Oct. 20 and earned their Simple Meals Badge. The girls ranging from fourth to fifth grades participated in different workshops to earn their badge including: learning to toss pizza like a pro, prepping their own pizza and stuffing cannoli’s.

Embers, a cozy neighborhood eatery and one of the newest additions to Summerlin’s Boca Park, gives its ode to American cuisine and cocktails with a multi-course dinner on Wednesday, April 4. Each delicious dish is paired with its own libation as diners are treated to five courses of new American cuisine and six perfectly paired cocktail classics for $100 per person, including tax and gratuity.

 

Previous paired dinners such as the recent bourbon and scotch themed feasts have attracted a great deal of interest and Embers recommends booking a spot early as space is expected to fill up quickly. Reservations are required and the dinner will begin at 7 pm.
