For the seventh consecutive year, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas welcomes the return of The Ice Rink as Boulevard Pool transforms into a winter wonderland high above the Las Vegas Strip open to the public Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018.


Overlooking the heart of Las Vegas Boulevard, visitors will enjoy roof-top ice skating on more than 4,200 square feet of real ice, roasting s’mores by the fire, light snow showers, adult renditions of seasonal culinary classics, and breathtaking views surrounded by vibrant city lights.

Second Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony with Vegas Golden Knight Deryk Engelland

Wednesday, Dec. 5

In celebration of the holiday season and the return of one of Las Vegas’ most adored holiday destinations, Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Deryk Engelland will host The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ second annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Fans, locals, and tourists alike can take part in all of the winter festivities The Ice Rink has to offer during this family-friendly affair. The lighting of the 36’ tall Christmas tree will take place at 7:00 p.m.



Space Skate Night with the cast of OPIUM

Thursday, Dec. 13

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Unbuckle your moon boots and lace up your skates for an out-of-this-world evening at The Rink with the cast of the galaxy’s hottest new show, OPIUM, now performing at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Be prepared to set your phasers to fun when you step onto the ice to skate with the space ship OPM 73’s raucous crew and compete in space-themed skill contests for a chance to win ringside tickets to experience the show for yourself.

  • Want to skate for free? Just bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to Three Square -or- purchase a ticket to one of OPIUM’s Dec. 17 performances and show proof of purchase upon skate rental.

Vice on Ice featuring TAO Group Cares Holiday Drive benefitting Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth

Vice on Ice takes over The Ice Rink with a high-energy club set by resident DJ Vice. Attendees will have the opportunity to give back through TAO Group Cares’ Holiday Drive, benefiting the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. Guests will be able to enjoy complimentary skating with a donation from NPHY’s Holiday Wish List.



Annual Fireworks Viewing Celebration

Monday, Dec. 31

7:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

The highly anticipated New Year’s Eve celebration at The Ice Rink will also host its annual fireworks viewing party for guests of all ages with skating, open bar and a live DJ overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.

  • Tickets for New Year’s Eve at The Ice Rink are available at or through Ticketmaster. Adult tickets include open bar and complimentary skate rentals. Those under the age of 21 with tickets will be provided complimentary soft drinks and skate rentals.
    • Currently, limited early bird pricing is available for $50 while supplies last. Tickets will then shift to $100 through Dec. 1, and following Dec. 1, general admission tickets will be $150.
    • Tickets for those under the age of 21 are available starting at $50. All underage guests must be accompanied by an adult.
    • Beginning at 11:30pm, hotel guests can access the pool deck to view the fireworks complimentary, but must purchase a ticket to skate or access the open bar.


Date Skate Mondays and Tuesdays featuring Holiday Movie Classics

A fan favorite during the holidays, Date Skate Mondays and Tuesdays welcomes love birds to a movie date night on ice. Cuddle up at a fire pit and stay toasty with a signature cocktail as a double feature of classic holiday films are shown on the resort’s 65-foot digital marquee beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Holiday Culinary Menu to Include:

The winter wonderland will also serve a variety of curated cocktails, an adult play on traditional seasonal favorites such as the Egg Noggy Nog, Campfire Delight, Rebel without a Claus, Scrooged, White Elephant Game, and The Griswold.


Menu selections include hearty classics reminiscent of winter childhood favorites such as grilled cheese and tomato soup, turkey potpie, fully loaded potato skins, chicken nachos, sliders, crispy chicken tenders, warm pretzel rolls and spicy green bean fries. Sweets bites including campfire s’more, cinnamon churros, and a pumpkin pie liege waffle will also be available.

General Information and Reservation Details:

The Ice Rink will be open Nov. 21 through Jan. 6. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to midnight and Saturday and Sunday from noon to midnight. Special holiday hours of noon to midnight will be in effect Dec. 21 through Jan. 6. A light snowfall will occur every 30 minutes between 7 p.m. and midnight every Friday through Sunday from Nov. 21 to Dec. 20 and every Wednesday through Sunday from Dec. 21 to Jan. 6. Special holiday hours of noon to midnight, seven days a week will be in effect Dec. 21 through Jan. 6. All day skating access is $20, and Monday through Thursday, all day skating access for Nevada residents, hotel guests and military is $10. Additionally, skate aid seals and reindeers are available for $10 an hour. Admission to the unique winter wonderland atmosphere surrounding The Ice Rink is complimentary.

Little Winter

Beginning Nov. 21, guests at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will experience the return of “Little Winter,” an immersive digital art installation that combines digital technology and architecture into one captivating piece. This one-of-a-kind digital art experience will transform areas throughout The Cosmopolitan into a vibrant progression of a winter’s day through a unique physical/digital hybrid of five scenic vignettes.  The playful characters partake in The Cosmopolitan style of mischief with little surprises. Set to an original score composed by Jesse Solomon Clarke, “Little Winter” includes the following scenes drawn from relatable memories of the holiday season:


  • Scene 1: Arctic Ice Fishing in the early orange glow of dawn
  • Scene 2: Alpine Skiing in a day of sunshine
  • Scene 3: Ice Skating in the colors of sunset
  • Scene 4: Mountain Hot Springs in darker shades of evening
  • Scene 5: Fox Quest set in the deep night

Sighting: Vegas Golden Knights Takeover Andiamo Italian Steakhouse


On Wednesday, September 19, the beloved Vegas Golden Knights athletes visited Andiamo Italian Steakhouse at the D Las Vegas to celebrate a highly-anticipated upcoming hockey season. Greeting hundreds of fans earlier that day at their Fan Fest at Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, the players were joined by their significant others for a fun-filled feast with CEO Derek Stevens.


Arriving in the D branded stretch limos and armored truck, the group chowed down on meatballs, calamari, tableside Caesar salad, steaks, fish and pasta.

Hockey fans took over Fremont Street Experience for an
action-packed celebration of Vegas Golden Knights Inaugural Season


More than 10,000 hockey fans stormed the D Las Vegas in Fremont Street Experience to attend the first-ever Vegas Golden Knights Fan Fest celebration on Sunday, January 14. The electrifying event was held as part of the team’s exclusive downtown partnership with the D Las Vegas, and offered hockey buffs the chance to see get up close and personal with their favorite players.

Vegas Golden Knights players were joined by Chairman and CEO Bill Foley, Head Coach Gerard Gallant, and Vegas Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz as the group walked the red carpet, signed autographs and took photos with excited supporters. the D Las Vegas’ CEO Derek Stevens welcomed guests as the festivities commenced in front of the Third Street Stage. In a daring display, the team’s mascot, Chance, flew high above the crowd on the SlotZilla Zipline while excited spectators watched from below.


Addressing the crowd, Foley credited the team’s success to their loyal and growing fan base.


“This is so impressive,” Foley said. “The team feeds off all of you just as the town feeds off the team. I’m so proud of the team, and I’m so proud of Las Vegas for supporting this great franchise.”


The public party was hosted by the team’s play-by-play and color broadcasters on AT&T SportsNet, Dave Goucher and Shane Hnidy, who introduced the 2018 lineup as each player took the stage and tossed t-shirts as fans cheered. The event included appearances from the entire team, including: Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Ryan Carpenter, William Carrier, Cody Eakin, Erik Haula, William Karlsson, Brendan Leipsic, Oscar Lindberg, Jonathan Marchessault, James Neal, Tomas Nosek, David Perron, Reilly Smith, Alex Tuch, Deryk Engelland, Brad Hunt, Brayden McNabb, Jon Merrill, Colin Miller, Luca Sbisa, Nate Schmidt, Reid Duke, Shea Theodore, Oscar Dansk, Marc-Andre Fleury and Malcolm Subban.


Keeping the energy high through the event, the VGK promo team and ice crew passed out special league memorabilia to lucky fans in the audience. A large, inflatable team jersey stood near a truck where fans lined up to buy official gear and younger fans could play an inflatable shootout game.

Golden Knights’ stars Deryk Engelland and James Neal Faced-Off Against Hunger on Dec. 6 at Three Square

Vegas Golden Knights’ stars Deryk Engelland and James Neal joined more than 40 Bank of America employees at Three Square Food Bank for a spirited day of volunteerism. The group worked together in Three Square’s expansive warehouse, sorting and repacking donated food to be distributed to families struggling with hunger throughout Southern Nevada.


Approximately one in seven in our community are food insecure, equating to nearly 279,000 Southern Nevadans (which includes more than 109,000 children). The event  in the heart of Bank of America’s Give A Meal campaign – its national partnership with Feeding America that matches $2 for every $1 donated resulting in nearly 600,000 meals to food insecure Southern Nevada families during the past seven years.
