Blue Man Group at Luxor Hotel and Casino announces a full show schedule for the month of December with nightly performances at 7 and 9:30 p.m., with a third performance offered at 4 p.m. on select days. For the first time ever, Blue Man Group offers a fourth show at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26 and Sunday, Dec. 28. Tickets start at $59 (plus taxes and fees) and can be purchased at the box office or online at www.blueman.com/vegas.

VIP Experience

 On Saturday, Dec. 22, Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group will bring their imaginative acts to the T-Mobile Arena as they perform on ice during two intermission breaks at the Vegas Golden Knights game against the Montreal Canadiens. Before the intermission performances and to mark the start of the game, audience members can enjoy the Canadian National Anthem serenaded by Rochelle Collins, regularly seen on stage at KÀ at MGM Grand.

 

During the first intermission, 25 cast members of the fan-favorite resident show KÀ, will dazzle the audience as they rappel from the ceiling cascading to the ice. Drawing inspiration from KÀ’s theme, a theatric battle will take place between the imperial court and the chief archer and his spearmen when the court’s festivities are interrupted.

 

For the second intermission performance, Blue Man Group will awe audience members with a one-of-a-kind musical performance of Creature Feature, an exclusive piece found only in their Las Vegas production. Featuring electrifying sounds made with unexpected instruments, like the Percussipedes and the Chimeulum, Creature Feature will conclude with a unique tribal drumming experience that only the Blue Men can create.

World-renowned Cirque du Soleil will take over all three days of Las Vegas’ favorite music festival, Life is Beautiful Music & Art Festival Sept. 21-23. To signify the start of a phenomenal festival weekend, fans will be welcomed on Friday at the main entrance by Cirque du Soleil artists from multiple Las Vegas shows. Throughout the three-day event, Cirque du Soleil will also have a booth that will offer festival-goers the chance to experience exclusive Virtual Reality from “O”, KÀ and Blue Man Group. Patrons will have exclusive photo opportunities throughout the weekend at the Cirque du Soleil booth as well.

Additionally, the revolutionary production The Beatles™ LOVE™, normally seen at The Mirage Hotel & Casino, will perform alongside of Foster The People on the main Downtown Stage on Saturday night. Blue Man Group will also make a splash at Life is Beautiful with a special collaboration with American DJ and electronic dance music producer, 3LAU, on Sunday, Sept. 23 on the Fremont Stage. Blue Man Group will join 3LAU on-stage to perform “Paintbone,” a colorful and unique combination of two pieces, “Paint Drumming” and “Drumbone,” that can be seen nightly in their show at Luxor Hotel and Casino.

BLUE MAN GROUP CROWNS THE WINNER OF THE SECOND ANNUAL BLUE MAN GROUP LAS VEGAS DRUM-OFF 

Dave Murray of Las Vegas took home the title and a prize package valued at over $5,000

 

 

 

Blue Man Group has named Dave Murray of Las Vegas the winner of the second annual Blue Man Group Las Vegas Drum-Off. The final round of the competition took place at Downtown Container Park on Saturday, Nov. 11.

 

During the final round, five finalists performed a live, three-minute drum session in front of a panel of judges made up of Blue Man Band members and special guest judge, Kurt Rasmussen, professional percussionist currently performing in “O” by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. Murray was ultimately chosen based on his creativity, technical ability, unique style and killer drumming skills.

 

Audience members at Downtown Container park helped cheer on each finalist throughout the competition. Blue Man Group also made an appearance at the finals with a special performance of Stamping Ground, a never-before-seen piece in Las Vegas.

 

As the winner of Blue Man Group Las Vegas Drum-Off, Murray received a prize package valued at over $5,000 including prizes from DW Drums, Vic Firth, Sabian, VOX, KORG and Blue Man Group. The Blue Man Group Las Vegas Drum-Off is just the latest in a series of Blue Man Group Drum-Offs throughout the country.

MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM), one of the world’s leading presenters of live entertainment, today announced plans for an approximately 5,000-seat theater at Monte Carlo Restort & Casino.  The new concert venue will amplify the vibrant entertainment district taking shape on the west side of the Las Vegas Strip with a robust calendar featuring special engagements by many of the music industry’s most-celebrated performers.

With more than 7 million entertainment tickets sold in 2014 alone, MGM Resorts’ offerings are unrivaled. The Company owns and operates two arenas; two Las Vegas Strip festival lots (62 acres); seven theaters housing Cirque du Soleil production shows; 14 theaters for concerts, headliners and comedy performances; and more than two dozen lounges and nightclubs.   Additionally, it is currently developing a new world-class Las Vegas arena as well as integrated resort projects in Macau and National Harbor, Maryland, each of which will feature entertainment venues as central amenities.

Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York and Orlando Blue Man Group productions contribute minimum of $25,000 to local programs and create sensory-friendly performances

 

In honor of Autism Awareness Month (April), the world-renowned Blue Man Group unveils a yearlong partnership with Autism Speaks; the company pledges to give a $25,000 donation to the cause and will host at least one sensory-friendly show, suitable for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), in each of its markets.

 

Throughout the month of April, Blue Man Group will take collections after each performance to be donated to local Autism Speaks programs in the following cities – Boston, Chicago and New York City. In Las Vegas, where there is no local Autism Speaks chapter, monies raised will go to Grant a Gift Autism Foundation. In addition, each production will offer sensory-friendly shows on select dates throughout the year, with a percentage of proceeds benefitting the cause.

 

For the sensory-friendly shows, slight modifications will be made including reducing sound and light levels at various moments during the performance and making headphones available upon request. The Blue Men will limit the amount of “chair walking” and keep their approach to the audience more subdued. Blue Man Group will also create calming environments in each theater’s lobby for families seeking a break from the excitement.

 

“We’ve heard from many families affected by autism that their children responded to the Blue Man character in a very moving way. We don’t know the exact reason. We can only speculate that it has to do with the Blue Men communicating in their own unique way — non-verbally, through visuals, touch and sound. Their message often resonates on a deeper, more sincere level,” said Phil Stanton, Blue Man Group Co-Founder. “Once we knew that we could be helpful or provide an outlet for those affected by autism, we felt it was important to do more. With our sensory-friendly shows, we want to create a safe and welcoming environment for individuals and families affected by this disorder, in the hopes that they can have an entertaining and joyful experience together.”

 

The fastest growing developmental disorder in the U.S., ASD affects 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42 boys. Characteristics include social challenges, communication difficulties and repetitive behaviors. Known for generating the ultimate show finale, Blue Man Group has taken the celebration up a notch. Inspired by the popular party vibe of Las Vegas, Blue Man Group has amped up the volume, visuals, excitement and euphoria of its show-ending climax. Blue Man Group Las Vegas is the featured field trip for DIY Music week during the six-week Maker Camp program, a free DIY project-based camp for teens, hosted and produced by a partnership between Maker Media and Google.
