Rí Rá Las Vegas Hosts Pink Halloween Party In Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Party proceeds benefit the
Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

On Saturday, Oct. 27, Rí Rá Las Vegas, located inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place, will host a Pink Halloween Party to raise funds for the Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

From 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., the pub will celebrate Halloween with a pink-themed soiree. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best pink costume or dress. To show their support in the fight against breast cancer, party-goers may purchase $10 pink boas throughout the evening. In addition, Rí Rá will feature a specialty cocktail, the Pink Jameson Rose ($8), all day long, in honor of breast cancer awareness.

Various prizes, including a grand prize two-day trip to Los Angeles with flight and accommodations, will be awarded to the best-dressed partiers. Raffle prizes, which include 24 engraved commemorative Guinness® glasses, will also be featured throughout the evening.  Rí Rá’s Pink Halloween Party is free and open to the public.

Additionally, the pub will raise funds for the nonprofit by selling pink wristbands and paper ribbon icons throughout the month and donating the proceeds. As an added bonus for locals, anyone presenting a valid Nevada ID when purchasing a Breast Cancer Awareness wristband or paper ribbon on any Friday in October will be entered to win prizes during the Halloween festivities.

Community Investment – Your Dollars at Work
The Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®- along with those who generously support the organization with their talent, time and resources – is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in our community. Through events like the Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure®, we have invested more than $6 million in local breast health and breast cancer projects in Southern Nevada over the past 17 years. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate provide grants for innovative community programs that reduce breast cancer mortality through screening, treatment, education and safety-net services, while the remaining 25 percent supports groundbreaking breast cancer research grants.

The Southern Nevada Affiliate conducts a biannual community needs assessment that helps guide our work and establishes goals for granting priorities, education needs, public policy efforts, and strategic operations. This community profile identifies service gaps, barriers, and community needs and ensures that our local investments will be effective and impactful. This year, the Affiliate funded over $837,000 in local breast health programs for the uninsured and underserved in Las Vegas and surrounding areas, while providing $150,000 to breast cancer research.

About Rí Rá Las Vegas
Crafted in the warm pub style of 19th century Ireland, Rí Rá Las Vegas is located inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place.  The authentic Irish pub features a multitude of artifacts that were carefully restored in Wicklow, Ireland and shipped to their new home in Las Vegas.  Rí Rá Las Vegas contains an authentic Victorian Shop bar that began its life in Ireland in the 1880s, a whiskey bar adorned with an original glazed jewelry cabinet from 1900, an oak floor from a whiskey distillery and an 8-foot-tall, 500-pound carved plaster statue of St. Patrick dating back to 1850.  The pub hosts live entertainment seven nights a week in a music room constructed with artifacts dating back to 1890 from the Olympia Theater in Dublin, Ireland. On the weekends, guests can kick back at Rí Rá Live, where every Friday and Saturday at 11:30 p.m. the best bands in town take the pub’s stage.  Born and raised in Dublin, Rí Rá Las Vegas owners David Kelly and Ciaran Sheehan have been close friends since they were 14-years-old. Kelly and Sheehan later partnered with Jay Luther, whom Kelly met while working for Guinness. Rí Rá Las Vegas is the 12th pub the trio has opened in the U.S.
