The HOLLYWOOD FILM AWARDS to be Broadcast Live From the Hollywood Palladium, Friday, Nov. 14 on CBS

    The “Hollywood Film Awards” today announced that multi-talented Academy and Emmy Award nominated, Golden Globe Award-winning actress, Grammy Award-winning musician and talk show host Queen Latifah, will host the inaugural broadcast of the HOLLYWOOD FILM AWARDS, live from the Hollywood Palladium Friday, November 14, 2014 (8:00-10:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.  The “Hollywood Film Awards” has recognized excellence in the art of cinema and filmmaking for 17 years, honoring some of the world’s biggest stars. They are considered the official launch of the awards season.

Latifah was anointed hip-hop’s first lady of rap at the age of 19 with the release of her highly successful debut album, “All Hail The Queen.” She went on to release multiple Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling albums, and in 2006 she became the first hip-hop artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Latifah has enjoyed similar success in television and film. Her first TV series was “Living Single,” and she has starred in nearly 40 films, including, “Jungle Fever,” “Living Out Loud,” “The Bone Collector,” “Chicago,” “Hairspray,” “Bringing Down the House,” “The Secret Life of Bees,” “Last Holiday,” “Beauty Shop” and “Joyful Noise.” Also, she executive produced and starred in the HBO true-life drama, “Life Support,” for which she won a Golden Globe award, a SAG award and an Emmy nomination. Versatile Comedian Frank Caliendo to Perform at The Orleans Showroom November 15 and 16

Comedian, actor and impressionist Frank Caliendo will bring his unique comedy styling to The Orleans Showroom November 15 and 16.

Caliendo is perhaps best known for his impressions of famous actors Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro; former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton; broadcasters John Madden and Charles Barkley; and talk show hosts Dr. Phil, Jay Leno, and David Letterman.

A veteran of televised comedy, Caliendo has starred in numerous television shows including “MADtv,” “Mike & Mike,” “Hot in Cleveland,” and his own series on TBS “Frank TV” in 2007 and 2008.

From 2003 to 2012, Caliendo was a fixture on the “Fox NFL Sunday” pregame show where he worked with Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long and the rest of the team. His “Frank’s Picks” segments were featured during the broadcasts of Super Bowls XXXIX, XLII and XLV.

Chef Emeril Lagasse Hosts Lavish Dinner to Raise Funds for Neurocognitive Disorders


On July 19 and 20, Keep Memory Alive will host the annual Shakespeare Ranch Rodeo and celebrity chef dinner with Emeril Lagasse for a weekend of Western-style fun and fundraising. Proceeds from the weekend’s events support Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health’s work toward enhanced treatments and research of neurocognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS and dementia.

“We are very excited to once again host our annual rodeo and gourmet dinner with celebrated Chef Emeril Lagasse. We look forward to celebrating with all who have joined in the fight against memory loss,” said Larry Ruvo, Chairman of Keep Memory Alive. “At Shakespeare Ranch, guests will experience an extravagant weekend of thrilling professional rodeo events and delicious food and wine.”

Camille and Larry Ruvo, along with the McGill family, resurrected the Glenbrook rodeo in 2000 after it was discontinued in 1965. On Friday, July 19, the rodeo will feature bull riding and barrel racing, as well as carnival games, a watermelon eating contest for kids, Western-style barbeque and a special performance from country rock bank, Left of Centre. The world famous Laugh Factory and the New Tropicana Las Vegas are launching a multi-venue comedy experience at the recently transformed Strip property. Fun World Media has partnered with Laugh Factory to build this new comedy empire and the first stage of the roll-out will be opening Laugh Factory Las Vegas, a comedy showroom starring the hottest comedians in the business, from established stand-up superstars to the young rising stars of tomorrow. The announcement was made today by the New Tropicana Las Vegas, Jamie Masada, owner of Laugh Factory, and Joseph Merhi, CEO of Fun World Media.

In addition to opening Laugh Factory Las Vegas, Laugh Factory and Fun World Media, an international television and film production company, will co-produce monthly Laugh Factory Superstar Comedy Concerts for the 1,000-seat Tropicana Theater. The partners will also develop and co-produce a variety of comedy specials, television series, reality shows and films; including new episodes of a Laugh Factorys Supreme Court of Comedy which airs on DirecTV, all at the New Tropicana Las Vegas. Laugh Factory will also work with Tropicana Las Vegas to design a new Comedy Walk of Fame, Comedy Wall of Fame and Stand-Up Comedy Interactive Museum, inducting comedy legends and modern stand-up celebrities to establish the venue as the empire of comedy in Las Vegas.
