Drink for pink! Cabo Wabo Cantina, located inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, will show support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating a portion of the proceeds from each Vojito cocktail purchase to Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada throughout the month of October.

 

From Monday, Oct. 1, through Wednesday, Oct. 31, Cabo Wabo will donate $1 from each Vojito sale to Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds to provide breast health education, screening and treatment services to medically underserved women in the area. Cabo Wabo’s original Vojito is handcrafted with Devotion Black and Blue vodka, fresh blackberries, blueberries, lime and mint, priced at $13. Guests who purchase a Vojito will receive a complimentary pink rubber wristband to continue to spread awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and may purchase the souvenir glass for an additional $10.

cocktail purchased from 4 – 8 p.m. in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

BRIO Tuscan Grille (BRIO) at Tivoli Village will put its ‘breast’ foot forward this October to raise funds and awareness for Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada. On Wednesday, Oct. 19, BRIO will join the fight to find a cure by donating $1 from every pink cocktail purchased from 4 – 8 p.m. as well as 20 percent of all dine-in proceeds to fund research and promote breast cancer awareness. Diners can enjoy one of seven pink drinks, including a non-alcoholic option so everyone can do their part to support the cause.

 

Guests can ‘get their pink on’ with the below festive cocktails:

  • Wild Berry Lemonade $3.50 – Monin Syrup, housemade lemonade and blackberries complete with a sugar rim
  • Strawberry Basil Smash $7.50 – Bacardi Limón, Angostura bitters, fresh strawberries and lime juice with lemonade and Prosecco, served on the rocks
  • Raspberry Mojito $7.75 – Bacardi Black Razz Rum, fresh lime juice and crushed mint with sweet raspberries, served on the rocks
  • Black Raspberry Cosmopolitan $5 – Sobieski Cytron and black raspberries with cranberry and limejuice, served up
  • Flirtini $5 – Sobieski Raspberry, HW Triple Sec and Prosecco with cranberry and pineapple juice, served up

Announces “Mac King & Susan G. Komen – Magic For a Cure” fundraiser
to continue indefinitely 

Comedy-Magician Mac King has donated $13,000 to Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada through the “Mac King & Susan G. Komen – Magic for a Cure” fundraiser.  King, who has been an avid champion for childhood literacy in Southern Nevada, began raising money and awareness for breast cancer programs and research during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2011.  Since then, he has been supporting the cause twice a day, five days a week, 52 weeks a year, for the past three years and has sold more than 5,200 bracelets, raising $13,000 for Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada.

“The ‘Mac King & Susan G. Komen – Magic for a Cure’ fundraiser started as a one-month campaign during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There was fantastic support from my pals in the audience and I decided to keep it going,” said King. “Two years later, together we have raised more than $13,000; proving that you can do little things everyday that will add up to one tremendous impact in the community. The fight against breast cancer is ongoing and I will continue supporting the cause with this fundraiser as long as the show exists.”

The fundraiser began in October of 2011 during Breast Cancer Awareness month when King ditched his famous yellow “cloak of invisibility” for a pink one to kick off the fundraiser.  Guests of The Mac King Comedy Magic Show are encouraged to make a make a $5 donation after the show to receive two pink “Mac King & Susan G. Komen – Magic for a Cure” wristbands. In addition, those who purchase two merchandise items after the show will also receive two wristbands and King will donate $5 on their behalf.  All proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada.

Throughout October, guests can purchase special edition pink SkySocks for two dollars, with 25 percent of the proceeds benefitting Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada.
