Galleria at Sunset will host its third Sunset Shop & Wine on Saturday, August 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. Complete with more than 15 wine tasting stations located inside popular stores, the event also offers up, food, entertainment and exclusive savings and discounts.

Admission is $30 per person and all event proceeds will be donated to Miracle Flights, which provides free flights to sick children in need of life-changing medical care not found in their local communities. Tickets and information: www.galleriaatsunset.com/events/.

The wine, generously provided by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, will be located by participating stores such as Francesca’s, Bath & Body Works, Yankee Candle, H&M, See’s Candies & Chocolate and more.

In addition to performances by Cameron Dettman’s Trio, tasty bites from featured Galleria at Sunset restaurants – Rodizio Grill, World of Beer, BRAVO! Cucina Italiana and GEN Korean BBQ House – will be available. Samplings of the restaurants’ signature cocktails will also be served.

Food, cocktails and live entertainment for Sunset Shop & Wine will be located near event check-in, on the lower level of Dillard’s. Galleria at Sunset will host its first-ever Sunset Shop & Wine on Saturday, February 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will be complete with more than 15 tasting stations located inside popular stores as well as food, entertainment and exclusive savings and discounts.

Henderson’s only Oktoberfest event returns to Galleria at Sunset for its second year on Saturday, September 29 from 1 to 7 p.m. Staying true to German tradition, the event boasts more than 15 German and local beers, polka dancing, live Bavarian music, contests and popular German fare. “Guests can expect everything from savory beers and brats to lively music, activities and lots of Lederhosen!” said Jamie Cooper, Galleria at Sunset marketing director. “More than 350 people attended our inaugural event in 2017 – a true testament to the fact that, while we’re known for our great shopping and dining, our more than 1 million-square-foot shopping center and location in Henderson is the perfect venue for events like this that bring the community together.”

In addition to performances by The Ginger Snaps and The Munich Boys, Oktoberfest will welcome KOMP 92.3 to emcee activities inspired by Bavarian tradition, including:

  • Guests are encouraged to wear their best Lederhosen and enter the Costume Contest. The winners will be chosen based on the most authentic and elaborate costumes.
  • The Beer Stein Race challenges participants to race with steins full of beer and participants with the least amount of beer spilled is the winner.
  • The Beer Tasting Contest is perfect for German beer aficionados. Participants will be tested on their beer knowledge as they taste and try to identify six different German beers.
  • The Stein Hoisting Competition is a traditional Bavarian strength contest in which competitors hold a full one-liter beer stein in front of their bodies with a straight arm, parallel to the ground. The last person hoisting is the winner.

For each contest, the winning male and female will take home the grand prize. All contest winners will receive an authentic one-liter beer stein full of goodies and gift cards. Oktoberfest will be held outside on the Galleria’s plaza and admission is $20 per person. Admission includes a beer stein along with the first three beers free and entrance into all contests.

Additional food and beer will be available for purchase. Attendees must be 21 to receive a beer stein and participate in certain contests. Families are welcome to attend and kids are free to enter, but must be accompanied by a parent at all times.

The Raider Image; Bobby Mao’s Chinese Kitchen + Mexican Cantina

The Galleria at Sunset today announced two tenants that will soon call the Henderson shopping center home. The Raider Image, the official store for Raiders merchandise, is anticipated to open this November and Bobby Mao’s Chinese Kitchen + Mexican Cantina is scheduled to open early 2018.

“We offer one-of-a-kind shopping and dining experiences to the more than six million people who visit the Galleria each year – these new tenants are a true testament to that,” said Kevin Budny, general manager of Galleria at Sunset. “The Raider Image and Bobby Mao’s are welcome additions to the Galleria and greater Henderson community.”

The Raiders Image will occupy just over 3,600-square-foot space and will be owned and operated by The Raiders. Sideline, on-field and exclusive products and apparel for fans of all ages will be available for purchase. The store will be located on the lower level by the Plaza entrance.

Bobby Mao’s Chinese Kitchen + Mexican Cantina will bring two cuisines under one roof to offer an expansive selection of Chinese and Mexican fare. In addition to the main dining area, the just over 7,000 square-foot space includes a sophisticated bar and lounge space with TVs, plush couches and booths. First-to-market in Nevada, restaurateurs Bobby and wife Tina come from Palm Desert, California, where they operate Bobby Mao’s Chinese Kitchen. The restaurant will be located at the main entrance to the mall next to Red Robin.

Galleria at Sunset confirmed today that the previously announced Oktoberfest event will still take place on Saturday, October 14 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. In light of Sunday’s tragedy, half of all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Las Vegas Victim’s Fund.“Instead of cancelling Galleria’s Oktoberfest, we have decided to use it as a way to raise additional funds and support for those impacted by this weekend’s tragedy,” said Kevin Budny, general manager of Galleria at Sunset.Staying true to German tradition, the event boasts more than 15 German and local beers, polka dancing, live Bavarian music, contests, and popular German fare.
