FERRARO’S GOES ORGANIC WITH SEPTEMBER’S “TASTE & LEARN,”
SUPERIOR WINES FROM ITALY’S CENTRAL COAST

Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar will partner with Umani Ronchi Winery for its next Taste & Learn event bringing award-winning, high-quality Italian wines to Las Vegas on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m.

Owner Gino Ferraro invites guests to experience some of Italy’s best wines from vineyards with more than a half-century of cultivation, located in the heart of Verdicchio Classico country. Each of Umani Ronchi’s vineyards is farmed organically, a practice pursued by the vintners for technological rather than ideological reasons. Organic farming demands  balance in nature and a range of crops, trees and herbs to create a biodiverse environment, which ensures the vines produce the best fruit and, consequently, superior wines.

Throughout the evening, guests will be taken on a journey sampling exclusive organic wines from Le Marche and Abruzzo regions of Italy, accompanied by perfectly paired small plates prepared by Executive Chef Francesco DiCaudo.

The night will start with a 100-percent Verdicchio white wine from Le Marche, located near the Apennine Mountains and Adriatic Sea, complemented with Crescia Sfogliata – a flaky, slightly addictive stuffed flatbread.

Guests will also enjoy a historical taste of Conero Riserva DOCG, featuring a carefully curated selection of Montepulciano grapes, with Chef Francesco’s Vincigrassi – Ancona City lasagna.

In May 1983, Gino opened Italfoods, a wholesale business purveying Italian specialty products to Las Vegas hotels, restaurants and pizza shops. On Nov. 5, 1985, the family opened Ferraro’s, which was a six-table deli and pizzeria—with Gino as the chef—on Sahara Avenue and Jones Boulevard. In May 1992, Ferraro’s debuted as a new fine-dining concept on West Flamingo, launching its wine collection with 1,000 bottles. The 4,400-square-foot restaurant seated 150 guests. In December 2009, the Ferraro’s relocated the restaurant to Paradise Road and renamed it Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar with Gino and Rosalba’s son Mimmo as executive chef. The current location occupies more than 9,000 square feet and seats 312 guests and its wine collection comprises 16,000 bottles and 1,200 labels. In 2015, the Ferraro family opened its first two Pizza Forte pizzeria locations, at Sunset Station Hotel & Casino and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. In 2016, Pizza Forte opened at the T-Mobile Arena.
