Auction proceeds to benefit community members through The Burn Survivor Initiative

 

Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation will host its 17th Annual Firefighter Bachelor Auction on Friday, June 9 from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. at The Foundry at SLS Las Vegas, with a special opening performance by male revue troupe, Aussie Heat.

Southern Nevada’s hottest and most eligible firefighter bachelors will be auctioned off to members of the community during the 17th Annual Firefighter Bachelor Auction. Bachelors will be paired with prize packages including premier hotel stays, a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Las Vegas show tickets, Sundance helicopter tours, golf experiences, spa treatments and much more. All proceeds from the auction will benefit individuals in the community through The Burn Survivor Initiative, a program that provides medical and emotional assistance to local burn survivors following a traumatic experience.

“This event is like no other event we put on. The Firefighter Bachelor Auction is such a fun way to bring the community together for good time benefiting a great cause,” said Nate Pechacek, president of the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation. “We’re changing things up this year and have a few surprises for our guests. We hope to continue with tradition and keep breaking our fundraising goals.”

Tickets start at $40 for females, $80 for men and $80 for couples. Gold and Silver VIP table packages are available and can be purchased at www.theburnfoundation.org. Tickets are limited.

 Fremont Street Experience partnered with the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation for the first SlotZilla Charity Challenge of 2015. On Thursday, Jan. 15 from noon – 6 p.m., 100% of SlotZilla revenue went to the Burn Foundation from everyone that flew on either the lower Zipline ($20) or upper Zoomline ($40). President of Fremont Street Experience, Jeff Victor, and Director of Marketing, Tom Bruny, presented the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation a check for $4,120 on Thursday, Jan. 29.

“We are honored to be giving back to the firefighters of Southern Nevada, especially for all that they do for the community,” said Jeff Victor, president of Fremont Street Experience. “This money will be used to send child burn victims to a camp in Northern Nevada so they can interact with other children and build their self-esteem. We are extremely happy to support this great cause and help out these children in need.”

Dom DeMarco’s Pizzeria & Bar Hosts Firefighters vs. Police Pizza Challenge in Honor of National Pizza Month

 

What better way to kick off National Pizza Month in October than with a pizza challenge? Dom DeMarco’s Pizzeria & Bar is hosting a benefit Pizza Challenge with local firefighters and police. The Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation and Friends of Las Vegas Metro Police Foundation have each created a signature pizza that will be featured on the Dom DeMarco’s menu throughout the entire month.

When someone purchases one of the non-profit’s signature pizzas a portion of the sale will be donated to each organization. At then end of the month, the organization with the highest pizza sales will receive an additional 10% donation in addition to the amount raised from Dom DeMarco’s Pizzeria & Bar.

The Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation created The Parmesan Red Hot pizza which is a spicy, buffalo chicken pie that contains grilled parmesan crusted chicken, ranch, parmesan, mozzarella and blue cheese crumbles topped with red onions and drizzled with Frank’sÒ Red HotÒ sauce.

Friends of Las Vegas Metro Police Foundation created the Five-0 Meatza Pizza which is a meat lover’s dream that includes pepperoni slices, Dom’s signature Italian sausage, red onions, basil, mozzarella and grana padano cheeses and tangy marinara sauce.

“Anything we can do to give back to our local law enforcement and firefighters is important to us,” said Albert Scalleat, partner of Dom DeMarco’s Pizzeria & Bar. “This pizza challenge is a fun and exciting way to raise money for two wonderful organizations. We look forward to seeing which organization’s pizza will be the best seller.”

Each 18” Large round will sell for $25 with $5 going directly to the non-profit whose pizza was purchased. Each 12” Small round will sell for $17 with $3 going directly to the corresponding non-profit.

The Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation will host a “Seventies Stayin’ Alive” karaoke competition and fundraiser at Rí Rá Las Vegas at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. Funds raised from the event will benefit the Burn Foundation’s efforts to assist victims of fire and other catastrophic events.

The authentic Irish pub will take guests back to the iconic decade with a groovy singing competition featuring costumes, drink specials, giveaways and more. The event is open to the public. Those wishing to participate can sign up at www.theburnfoundation.org. Participants and guests are encouraged to don their best 1970s attire as the evening’s Best Dressed will win a prize during the event.

Tickets are available in advance for $25 at www.theburnfoundation.org. Guests may also purchase tickets at the door for $30. Those dressed in 1970s attire will receive a $25 discount on their ticket when purchased at the door.

The Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation consists of fire department active personnel from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, Clark County, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Nellis Fire Departments.  The Burn Foundation also works closely with the Burn Unit at UMC hospital in helping to care for these victims, in a joint effort to help those families in need after such a catastrophic event. In the past year, the Burn Foundation has raised approximately $32,000 to assist families confronted with a catastrophic event.

About Rí Rá Las Vegas

Kelly and Sheehan later partnered with Jay Luther, whom Kelly met while working for Guinness. Rí Rá Las Vegas is the 12th pub the trio has opened in the U.S.
