Town Square Restaurants Supporting Kids with Cancer During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Town Square Restaurants Supporting Kids With Cancer During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Several Town Square restaurants are stepping up their philanthropic efforts this September by partnering with Cure 4 the Kids Foundation and offering a way for the community to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.  A portion of sales from various items on the menus will go to Cure 4 the Kids, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit foundation, that funds The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada.  It is the only nonprofit pediatric cancer outpatient treatment center in the state of Nevada.

Cancer is a life changing event. Families throughout Southern Nevada learn this every day.  Unfortunately, many will also learn the health insurance they thought would cover their children’s diagnosis doesn’t begin to address all of their needs.  Those without any health insurance will see their options for treatment severely limited.

Getting proper and timely treatment is essential for these children to improve their chances of surviving, and with the least amount of long term effects. This is what Cure 4 The Kids Foundation strives to do.

The following restaurants have come to the table with special donation plans and will be participating over a designated weekend in September. In addition, donations can be made directly at

September 1 – 3
Fracos & Fröccs – Donating 50% of the Mandarin/Pomegranate Fröcc.
Blue Martini – Donating 2% from its Signature Blue Martini.

September 7 – 9
Texas de Brazil – $2 per dessert will be donated to Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.

September 14 – 16
BRIO Tuscan Grille – Donating all proceeds from sales of its Torta Di Cioccolata cake to Cure 4 The Kids.
Ranch House Kitchen – Donating 15% of weekend proceeds to Cure 4 The Kids.

September 21 – 23
english’s – Selling $30 gift certificates for $20, $10 of which goes to Cure 4 The Kids.

September 28 – 30
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf – Selling charitable danglers for $1 and donating the proceeds to Cure 4 The Kids.

“We’re so thrilled that Town Square Las Vegas is supporting the community and the families whose children need this specialized treatment,” said Annette Logan, President and Executive Director of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.  “Many people assume that medical facilities in our community are required to treat these children facing cancer who don’t have insurance–they are not. Sadly, some parents are left with no options.”

Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, funds The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada.  It is the only nonprofit pediatric cancer outpatient treatment center in the state of Nevada.  It is one of the only facilities capable and willing to treat children with or without insurance.  The Foundation’s Charity Care Plan helps pay for this treatment.

Founded in 2007 by Jonathan Bernstein, M.D., Cure 4 The Kids Foundation has a mission to make sure all children, regardless of family income or presence of medical insurance, have access to the latest and best medical treatment for life threatening illnesses.

The physicians at The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada are all Board Certified in Pediatric Hematology Oncology.  As members of the Children’s Oncology Group, a collection of the world’s childhood cancer experts, providers at the Specialty Center have access to the latest treatments and clinical trials that offer the best hope of surviving and growing into adults.
