One of the most successful reggae acts of all time, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro, will bring their island style to the Palms Pool, Cabanas & Café at Palms Casino Resort on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at 4 p.m. for an afternoon of poolside live music. Doors open at 3 p.m. Guests must be 18+ to attend. Throughout the summer, the pool will host a mix of live performances from large-scale acts of all genres on the main stage.

Artist Info:  Tinsley Ellis wears his Southern roots proudly. Born in Atlanta in 1957, he grew up in southern Florida and first played guitar at age eight. He found the blues through the back door of British Invasion bands like The Yardbirds, The Animals, Cream, and The Rolling Stones. In 1981, along with veteran blues singer and harpist Chicago Bob Nelson, Tinsley formed The Heartfixers, a group that would become Atlanta’s top-drawing blues band. After releasing three albums with the band, Ellis set out on a solo career and soon signed with Records, where he released the hit album Georgia Blue. Before long, Alligator arranged to reissue his previous albums Cool On It and Tore Up, thus exposing Tinsley’s blistering earlier music to a growing fan base. Tinsley’s subsequent releases, 1989’s Fanning The Flames, 1992’s Trouble Time, 1994’s Storm Warning and 1997’s Fire It Up  further expanded the guitarist’s hero status. His success continued in the 2000s with the albums Kingpin, Moment of Truth and 2009’s Speak No Evil.

Artist Info:  Legendary rock band Survivor is embarking on their next chapter with  a new member who has seemingly  given new life to one of rock ‘n’ roll’s preeminent bands. With 22-year-old Nashville resident Cameron Barton assuming lead vocalist duties, the group will take their trademark arena rock sound to their loyal and devoted fan base.

Survivor released their first album in 1980 on Scotti Brothers. Their first Top-40 on the Hot 100 came the next year with “Poor Man’s Son.” Their big break would come in 1982 when the band was asked by Sylvester Stallone to provide the theme song for Rocky III. That single, “Eye Of The Tiger,” hit # 1 – staying there for seven weeks, winning a Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, a People’s Choice Award, Academy Award and a Golden Globe nomination. The song came in at #18 on the “Top 100 Singles” chart in Billboard‘s 100th Anniversary issue and it’s well over the 7 million mark worldwide on iTunes, where it’s currently holding strong at #9 on their “Top Soundtrack” chart. The band also struck paydirt as a result of a Stallone movie when “Burning Heart” appeared on the soundtrack of Rocky IV in 1985, hitting #2 on the singles chart.

The band’s Vital Signs record was another huge success, peaking at #16 on Billboard‘s “Top 200 Albums” chart thanks to the Billboard Top-20 hits “I Can’t Hold Back” (#13), “High On You” (#8) and “The Search Is Over” (#4). With a new team on board and new energy in the air, the future couldn’t be brighter for Survivor!

In its all original lineup, Poison has kept it rocking, real and relevant, bringing their own style, unbelievable live energy and hit songs to the big stage. Australian metal band Parkway Drive will set stages afire on their largest headlining tour to date in North America this summer with a stop at the Pearl Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on Sunday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $35.95, plus applicable fees. Joan Jett is an originator, an innovator, and a visionary. As the leader of the Blackhearts, with whom she has become a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, she’s had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics “Bad Reputation,” “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” and “Crimson and Clover.” Her independent record label, Blackheart Records, was founded in 1980 after she was rejected by no less than 23 labels. Blackheart is one of the longest running indie labels and continues to give voice to new bands. Jett has acted in movies and television, including 1987’s Light Of Day, and in a Tony-nominated Broadway musical, The Rocky Horror Show. She has appeared on such acclaimed television shows as Oprah (the last season) and Law and Order.

As a producer, she has overseen albums by Bikini Kill, Circus Lupus, as well as the Germs’ LA punk masterpiece, GI.

Her music has become a permanent force in mainstream culture. A version of “I Hate Myself for Loving You” was reworked for NBC’s Sunday Night Football theme song, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” and was performed for nine seasons by the likes of Pink, Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood. Her music is heard in countless films and TV shows including Easy – A, Kick Ass, The Runaways, Shrek, Baby Mama, and many more.

Since co-founding the Runaways, the pioneering all-girl punk quintet, at age 15, Jett’s determination and drive have kept her in the public eye. Jett was able to see her story told in The Runaways, the film based on (lead singer of The Runaways) Cherie Currie’s book Neon Angel starring Kristen Stewart as Jett, and her fellow A-lister Dakota Fanning as Currie. Jett was close to the project: She served as an executive producer. Jett and the Blackhearts released their latest record, Unvarnished, in 2013 and continue touring the globe to throngs of adoring fans.

Joan Jett has spent her lifetime breaking barriers and challenging expectations – this is, after all, a woman who is both a spokesperson for PETA and a devoted supporter of the US Military. She’s fought hard for all of her historic accomplishments, yet she remains humble and appreciative. “I’ve had a blessed career,” she says. “I consider myself so lucky to have been able to do things my own way.”

Artist Info: Formed in 1969, Wishbone Ash has more than 20 original studio recordings and several live albums to their credit. Back in the day, Wishbone Ash cut their teeth on the US stadium circuit, first opening for The Who. Once they began headlining in the States, Wishbone’s opening acts included Springsteen, Kiss and Aerosmith. About Andrew McMahon
Raised on the East Coast and in the Midwest, McMahon began writing songs at age nine, drawing inspiration from singer/songwriter/pianists such as Elton John and Billy Joel. Artist Info: MGMT was formed by Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden in 2001 while at Wesleyan University. Since their first release, the EP Time To Pretend in 2005, MGMT have released four critically acclaimed albums: Oracular Spectacular (2008), Congratulations (2010), MGMT (2013), and Little Dark Age (2018).

The GRAMMY-nominated group released their debut album, Oracular Spectacular, in 2007 – the album spawned the commercially successful single “Electric Feel,” as well as the single “Kids” which garnered the band a GRAMMY nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.  Comedian Tracy Morgan has announced his new 2020 standup comedy tour, NO DISRESPECT, including a date at the intimate Pearl Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 9 p.m.

Known for his comedic roles across seven seasons of the award-winning television shows 30 Rock, where he received a Supporting Actor Emmy Nomination, and Saturday Night Live, which earned him an Emmy nod for Outstanding Guest Actor, Morgan is one of the most well-respected comedians in his field; he has had successful standup specials for Netflix, HBO and Comedy Central, which brought the channel one of its largest viewership for a standup special that year.

TBS’s The Last O.G., which Morgan executive produces and stars in, was recently picked up for a third season. The show also stars Tiffany Haddish. On top of his seven nominations for Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series on behalf of 30 Rock, Morgan was also nominated in the lead actor category for The Last O.G. at the NAACP Image Awards.

Morgan also recently appeared on the big screen in Paramount’s What Men Want, opposite Taraji P. Henson. In 2009, he released his first book, I Am The New Black, a compilation of anecdotes and some of the more serious moments that shaped him and his career. That same year, he made his voiceover debut in the Jerry Bruckheimer feature, G-Force, a combination live-action and CGI film which opened to #1 at the US box office. Morgan went on to voice characters in Rio, Rio 2 and the Oscar-nominated Boxtrolls.

He can next be heard voicing the role of “Fox” in Netflix’s November 2019 series, Green Eggs & Ham, as well as “Caption Caveman” in the upcoming 2020 feature, Scoob.

Artist Info: Judy Collins has inspired audiences with sublime vocals, boldly vulnerable personal life triumphs and a firm commitment to social activism. With a 50-album body of work and a career spanning five decades, Collins has garnered several gold and platinum-certified albums, including numerous top-10 hits. The award-winning singer-songwriter began her impressive music career at 13 as a piano prodigy and released her debut album A Maid of Constant Sorrow in 1961, which featured interpretative works of social poets of the time such as Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, and Tom Paxton. Her 1967 album, Wildflowers, featured original compositions, including the Grammy Award-winning song, “Both Sides, Now,” which climbed to number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. IL VOLO announce the global release of their new album 10 Years – The Best of (Sony Music) on Nov. 8. Available for preorder now, the new album celebrates the trio’s 10th anniversary and pays homage to the career of three unique voices that have crossed national borders, selling millions of records, and climbed rankings worldwide. The album arrives in the wake of Il Volo’s hugely successful summer tour, which took them to the most iconic Italian locations, from the Cava del Sole in Matera to the Teatro Antico in Taormina. Following the album’s release, the trio will head out on the road once again on a 23-date North American tour, which includes a stop at The Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.

The new album, 10 Years – The Best of, offers all the best of Il Volo’s repertoire, from “O Sole Mio” to “My Way” to “Grande Amore.” The track list is comprised both by songs recorded in the studio and by new live recordings such as the June show in Matera, Italy which was filmed and will be broadcast later this year. Il Volo: Ten Years will make its premiere on PBS stations nationwide beginning Nov. 30 (check local listings for airdates and times).

In celebration of the 10th anniversary, the group also embarked on a world tour, which kicked off this past May in Japan, continues in Latin America beginning Oct. 3, and arrives in North America on Jan. 28, 2020.  The 23-date North American tour will include stops at iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall, Chicago Theatre and Microsoft Theater.

Eat, drink and play “pink” in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Station Casinos’ ‘Project Pink’ company-wide initiative this October

 

For the tenth consecutive year, Station Casinos is turning up the pink through October. Station Casinos will host ‘Project Pink,’ a company-wide initiative supporting the fight against breast cancer as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To date, more than $581,000 has been donated by Station Casinos to the Susan G. Komen Nevada and American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” campaign.

 

“Now in our tenth year, we are thrilled to have raised over $581,000 to date for a great cause, thanks to our wonderful Las Vegas community,” said Michael Britt, Senior Vice President of Government Relations at Station Casinos. “We hope you will join us this October to not only raise awareness but fund the fight against this disease. Together, we can make a difference and help save lives from breast cancer.”

 

All guests need to do is enjoy anything “Pink” from select restaurants, select casinos bars, bingo rooms, spas and salons, Kids Quest and Cyber Quest and designated blackjack and poker tables, throughout Station Casinos’, and the company will donate to two incredible organizations that provide needed support services and important research and treatment throughout the month of October, including:

OneRepublic drops new album news and connection to the Palms during Friday night’s show – Photos and recap

Very cool night Friday with OneRepublic at The Pearl inside Palms Casino Resort. Not only did the band energetically play all their chart-topping songs for a sold out crowd including “Counting Stars,” “Love Runs Out,” “Stop and Stare” and more, but they also performed songs that front man Ryan Tedder wrote, such as Adele’s “Rumor Has It.”

 

Tedder also shared with the crowd the band had been upstairs in the studio (referring to Studio at the Palms, the state-of-the-art recording studio inside Palms Casino Resort) working on the new forthcoming album. He also told them a fun fact, that the first song they released “Apologize” was recorded at Studio at the Palms as well. The band then played “Apologize” later in the show.
