FLY LINQ BECOMES FIRST ZIPLINE IN THE WORLD
TO OFFER FOUR WAYS RIDERS CAN SIMULTANEOUSLY FLY ON 10 LINES
FLY LINQ Guests Now Have Four Positions to Choose from: Superhero or Seated Frontward or Backward

FLY LINQ is now the only zipline in the world to offer four ride styles that can launch simultaneously on 10 side-by-side lines.

FLY LINQ, which is also the only zipline on the Las Vegas Strip, now gives riders four ways they can fly:

  1. Prone or “superhero”– backward
  2. Prone or “superhero”– frontward
  3. Seated – backward
  4. Seated – frontward

“We created an exhilarating experience that only FLY LINQ could deliver. For the first time, we are giving riders the option to fly seated or prone backward whereas before they were only able to fly frontward,” says Shaun Swanger, senior vice president of attractions, retail and leasing, The LINQ Promenade and Caesars Attractions. “This will further create an excitement for the guest who is flying and for guests watching from below.”

Located at The LINQ Promenade, FLY LINQ guests begin their ride by taking an elevator designed to provide Strip views from The Vortex at The LINQ Hotel & Casino to the top of the 114-foot-tall launch tower above The LINQ Promenade. After enjoying spectacular Strip views during the ascent, guests arrive on the launch deck, where gear-fitting and a photo opportunity takes place. From the launch tower, the ride continues eastward, traveling 1,121 feet through The LINQ Promenade to the landing tower. Riders disembark near the base of High Roller.

FLY LINQ is open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight. Click here for more information, including pricing, and to purchase tickets.

Angel Fire Resort in New Mexico Offers Families New Summer Adventure Pass

ANGEL FIRE RESORT LAUNCHES SUMMER ADVENTURE PASS
New Mexico Mountain Getaway Gives Families The Choice of High-Adventure Activities for Lowest Price in the State

Angel Fire Resort, located in the Rocky Mountains of northern New Mexico, announced today the launch of its brand new summer Adventure Pass. The pass will give all guests access to the Southwest’s #1 Bike Park, New Mexico’s only zipline tour, full use of the resort’s 18 hole PGA Championship golf course and lodging, at one of the most affordable prices in the state.

“Being a family-first resort, our goal is to give our guests the most fun on the mountain at the most affordable price,” Dan Swanson, director of marketing, Angel Fire Resort, explains. “For just over one-hundred dollars a night guests can spend 3 nights in our Lodge, go ziplining, mountain biking and play a round of golf. We are confident it’s one of the best values in the state right now for summer vacation packages.”

Angel Fire Bike Park Expands This Season
Angel Fire’s popular bike park, built just a handful of years ago, is quickly gaining traction as one of the best in the nation. Recently named #1 Bike Park in the Southwest by readers of MTBParks.com in Decline Magazine and one of the top 5 Bike Parks in North America by Liftopia, (http://www.liftopia.com/blog/top-5-mountain-biking-parks/) the Angel Fire Bike Park is continuing it’s efforts to offer the best, most authentic trails to riders this season. The Bike Park plans to add a handful of new trails this summer and continue to carve out smooth-flowing trails for those new to the sport.

The 60-plus mile trail network does not include the great off-mountain trails in the village of Angel Fire and surrounding Kit Carson National Forest. Options off the mountain include the 23-mile South Boundary Trail, which begins just south of Angel Fire and ends in Taos, NM. The South Boundary Trail, deemed by many to be a “can’t miss” epic ride, features some of the best high-altitude single-track anywhere in the United States. These cross-country trails give reason to plan extended stays in Angel Fire to experience all the area offers for fat tire enthusiasts.

The Bike Park also boasts the longest season in the Rockies with most trails open from May 16 – October 12, offering riders 110 days of riding, weather permitting. Riders will once again be able to enjoy the new Enduro trails that were added last season. Simply take the lift up and enjoy the scenic surroundings and biking opportunities on the backside and either download, or choose a plethora of trails to descend down the front.
Daily Passes start at just $33 and the Summer Gravity Season Pass is just $259 -allowing riders unlimited lift access throughout the 2014 summer season. The Bike Park also offers full rentals and lessons for those trying out the sport for the first time or looking to improve their skills. For more information go to www.angelfirebikepark.com

New Mexico’s Only Zipline Adds More Tour Times
Also new this season, the resort is adding tours to its Rocky Mountain Zipline Adventure Tour, which takes thrill-seekers through multiple zipline stages at the summit. The tour is one of the highest elevation zipline tours in the United States and the very first of its kind in New Mexico.  The six-segment tour opened in 2012 and has been so popular that the resort is now adding additional early-morning tour times to give more adrenaline seekers more opportunity to fly 200’ high above the forest floor.

“With monsoon rains in the summer, sometimes late afternoon tour times can be challenging. This summer we’re changing that. We are starting early in the morning and will carve out additional tour times so we can get everybody up on the mountain and through the course with plenty of time before the rain heads in our direction,” Swanson explains. “Plus we’re adding a day-of tour for those who are wanting to book a second tour in the same day, or decide last minute they want to try it out. Tours will be available on a first-come, first serve sign up basis.”

A zipline tour connects multiple ziplines of varying lengths and descents. The adventure begins with an introductory zipline of only 100’ and works up to the Super Zipline, which carries guests on a 1,600’ cable 200’ above the forest floor.  Guests must weigh 90-270 pounds to ride the zipline. Pricing for the Zipline Tour only is $129 per person. Reservations are open now, with the Zipline opening May 16.

High Altitude Golf
Situated at 8,600’ elevation, Angel Fire Resort’s high-altitude, 18-hole PGA Championship golf course offers affordable play to guests and its members. Widely regarded as one of the most stunning in the west, the course winds through two unspoiled canyons of aspen and spruce high up in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.  In addition, the high elevation provides golfers relief from the summer heat and some serious extra distance on their drives, and all starting for just $59 per round/$45 twilight, including shared cart. New this season, the golf course will also offer unlimited golf for $100 per person, per day. The course will open May 21, 2014 and will stay open through October 19, 2014, weather permitting.

The Angel Fire Resort Launches The Adventure Pass
New this season, Angel Fire Resort will offer guests three nights of lodging, a Zipline Tour Pass, one-day pass at The Angel Fire Bike Park and one-round of golf at the country club, for just $109 each person, each night, based on double occupancy.

Tennis
Located at Olympic Park just south of the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort on Highway 434, the Angel Fire Resort Tennis Center includes six hard courts for use by Resort members, guests and visitors to the Moreno Valley. The Tennis Center is open to the public May 1st through October 31st; from 8am to 6pm. Children clinics are free for ages 10 and younger. Clinics, lessons, tournaments and weekly play are available and start in June.

Fremont Street Experience Reveals Plans for SlotZilla, A New Attraction to Change Downtown Las Vegas

Fremont Street Experience Reveals Plans for SlotZilla,
A New Attraction to Change Downtown Las Vegas

Zoom and Zip with SlotZilla, a first-of-its kind
zipline attraction to encompass Fremont Street Experience

Fremont Street Experience revealed plans to build a new permanent zipline attraction, SlotZilla, Tuesday during a press conference at which a 6-foot model of the attraction was unveiled. The $11 million attraction will forever alter the downtown Las Vegas skyline with an 11-story slot-machine-themed takeoff platform located near the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street.

Construction on SlotZilla is expected to begin immediately after New Year’s with the attraction anticipated to open during the first half of 2013. SlotZilla will be a major new icon for downtown Las Vegas and Fremont Street Experience, a five-block entertainment district that attracts nearly 16 million annual visitors.

“We wanted to take a ride typically found in the jungle, give it amusement park features and qualities, and build it in the middle of downtown,” said Jeff Victor, president of Fremont Street Experience. “Designing a zipline to go across 1,700 feet with only a slight incline was a real challenge and required us to think outside the canopy and develop new technologies. To meet this challenge, we designed a first-of-its kind propulsion launch system and created a steeper incline that will actually take riders through the Viva Vision canopy, giving them the thrill of their lives.”

SlotZilla will be a two-level thrill ride. Riders on the upper Zoomline will take off over 100 feet above ground and riders, lying flat in a harness, will be launched to a speed that will zoom them 1,700 feet through and under the Fremont Street Experience canopy. Riders on the lower Zipline take off about 70 feet above ground and zip 850 feet to a mid-point landing platform. Both levels deliver a ride experience unique in the world – flying above thousands of people on Fremont Street Experience and under the Viva Vision canopy, which is the world’s largest video screen.

SlotZilla, specially designed for Fremont Street Experience by Skyline based in Hawaii, features a first-of-its-kind propulsion launch system which propels the rider from the platform at speeds of 35 mph, as well as a proprietary braking system, giving riders a smooth landing to the ride. SlotZilla combines innovative technology with a dynamic themed concept to transcend a traditional zipline ride into a ground-breaking attraction for the amusement industry.

“The launched zipline will provide an incredible experience for riders and is a first for the zipline industry,” said Danny Boren, president of Skyline. “Additionally, this attraction will have increased guest capacity as a result of the integrated ride controls and automated safety features, which are exciting new developments for the zipline industry.”

The new zipline attraction is named “SlotZilla” as a tribute to the deep gaming roots of downtown Las Vegas. Through the creative direction of Contour Entertainment, the 120-foot-high takeoff tower will be transformed into the World’s Largest Slot Machine. Riders will actually “be the jackpot” and exit the slot machine through the pay table and coin tray. Las Vegas visitors will not want to miss this iconic new attraction, a thrilling experience for zipline riders and a one-of-a-kind photo op for those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground.

The takeoff platform is a multi-level, 11-story structure designed to look like a giant slot machine, complete with a pull-arm and reels. Each time riders leave the Zoomline platform, the arm will pull down, the reels will “spin” and a beacon will light up. The slot machine is adorned with two Vegas showgirls standing 37 feet tall and will include a 20-foot wide, 10-foot tall “Welcome to Fabulous Downtown Las Vegas” sign, providing a photo op for tourists.

The ride will have two landing platforms. Zipline riders will land on a platform near the intersection at 3rd Street and Casino Center. Zoomline riders will land on a platform located on top of a new Main Street Stage.

Temporary Ride to Close:
In order to build this amazing ride, the current temporary zipline Flightlinez is closed for a short time. This will enable Flightlinez to move the current temporary platforms so that the ride can remain open during construction of the permanent SlotZilla structure.

SlotZilla Opening & Ticket Sales:
SlotZilla is scheduled to open in June 2013 and Fremont Street Experience anticipates hiring approximately 100 new employees to operate the new permanent ride.

Ticket sales are projected to be $20 for the Zipline, $30 for the Zoomline or $40 for both. For those who want to avoid the lines and book a time window for their ride, advanced ticket sales and reservations will be made available.
