SUGAR FACTORY AMERICAN BRASSERIE INTRODUCES NEW MENU SELECTIONS

Sugar Factory American Brasserie at Paris Las Vegas has introduced a new menu complete with dozens of new dining and cocktail selections.

Sugar Factory’s new executive chef, Matthew Piekarski, has added an array of selections to the entire menu, starting with two savory appetizers. The crispy Popcorn Shrimp is paired deliciously with remoulade slaw and classic horseradish cocktail sauce, and the spiced honey glazed chicken wings are tossed in house-made sauce.

Piekarski has also created a variety of hearty sandwiches including the Grilled Ham and Brie Sandwich, made with oven-roasted shaved ham, imported brie, arugula and fig preserves; the Double Grilled Cheese BLT Sandwich, made with applewood smoked bacon, butter lettuce, Muenster and American cheeses; and the Grilled Prime Steak Sandwich, made with prime top sirloin steak, sautéed onions, roasted peppers and Muenster cheese on whole grain bread.

New pizza selections include the flavorful Prosciutto Pizza, topped with spiced pear chutney, imported brie, fennel and roasted peppers and finished with truffle oil; and the Bacon and Artichoke Pizza, made with roasted garlic, mozzarella, fontina and parmesan.

New entrees include Sugar Factory’s Bouillabaisse made with mussels, clams, fresh white fish, gulf shrimp, calamari, scallops, saffron, tomato broth and grilled crostini; and Spicy Shrimp Pasta, made with gulf shrimp, sautéed in oil and chili flakes, a spicy tomato broth, lemon, baby spinach and dried chilies.

Known for its decadent desserts, Sugar Factory has added the S’Mores Crepe, topped with toasted marshmallows, crushed graham crackers, melted chocolate chunks, dark chocolate and vanilla bean ice cream; and the Rocky Road Pizza, made with milk chocolate chunks, dark chocolate sauce, marshmallow fluff and graham crackers. Other new dessert selections include Mexican Hot Chocolate fondue, complete with dark chocolate, cinnamon and almonds and served with cajeta stuffed churros, and the Dulce Delicious sundae, made with dulce de leche ice cream, hot caramel sauce, pecans, whipped cream and waffle cone pieces.

Sugar Factory has added several new cocktails to its sweet treat-inspired cocktail list, as well. The Almond Joy Martini is made with Bacardi Coconut, Godiva Milk Chocolate Liqueur and Toschi Nocello Walnut Liqueur, and the Cherry Tootsie Pop cocktail is a potent concoction made of Godiva Milk Chocolate Liqueur, Three Olives Chocolate Vodka, Three Olives Cherry Vodka and a special cherry puree.

Situated in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, with direct access from Las Vegas Boulevard, Sugar Factory American Brasserie’s sizeable menu features an array of savory items including pizzas, pastas, salads, sandwiches, burgers and more. Breakfast selections include gourmet waffles, omelets, pancakes and crepes. Hash House A Go Go Creates a ‘Cake for the Cure Pancake to Benefit Local Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk Team

Hash House A Go Go creates a ‘Cake for the Cure pancake to benefit
local Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk Team

A portion of the sale of each pancake benefits the organization through local team

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hash House A Go Go will support the many Las Vegans who will be participating in a Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk (www.the3day.org) in one of 13 cities across the U.S.  This year’s fundraising efforts will go to “The Knocker Walkers for Teri’s Tatas” team headed by Las Vegan Carol Broeland, a multiple- year walker.

Created by Chef Anthony Vidal, the ‘Cake for the Cure pancake includes the “berry breast” natural ingredients for breast cancer prevention plus their famous batter mixed with a variety of fresh fruits including 2 oz. raspberries; 2 oz. cherries; 2 oz. cranberries, 2 oz. pomegranate and 2 oz. strawberries. In traditional Hash House style, the pancakes are oversized, and even a pinkish hue. For the entire month of October, the restaurants are donating $1 from the sale of every ’Cake for the Cure pancake to the fundraising efforts.

“It’s great to be able to assist Las Vegans participating in Susan G. Komen’s 3-Day walk with our very berry-licious ‘Cake for the Cure pancake,” said Jim Rees, owner of Hash House A Go Go. “Our Chef created a delicious and health-conscious pancake for everyone to enjoy.”  Broeland added, “We are always happy to have support from Hash House A Go Go and are so appreciative to be receiving their funding in such a tasty, fun and educational effort.  There are many walkers from Las Vegas and I am so proud that even though we don’t have a 3-Day walk in Las Vegas, locals can still help in the search for a cure by walking in this amazing 3-Day event.”

Hash House A Go Go celebrates National Pancake Week by teaming up with Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars, Joey Fatone and
George Wallace
Celebrities create special pancakes for favorite charities

Hash House A Go Go is working with Rick Harrison from HISTORY Channel’s Pawn Stars, N’Sync member and current host of The Price Is Right Live! at Bally’s Joey Fatone and Flamingo headliner and comedian George Wallace to make National Pancake Week bigger and better than ever. Each celebrity is designing their own pancake to be listed on the Hash House A Go Go menu from Feb. 19 – 25.

The pancake that sells the most at the end of the week will be declared the winner with $1 from each of the three celebrity pancakes sold to be donated to the charity of the celebrity’s choice. Rick Harrison has chosen Child Focus, Joey Fatone has chosen the Fatone Family Foundation and George Wallace has chosen Smile Train.

Harrison’s sweet tooth gets the best of him with the combination of chocolate and peanut butter for his pancake while Fatone’s pancake features Reese’s pieces designed with the pieces as eyes and chopped bacon as the mouth of a smiley face. Meanwhile, Wallace keeps it exciting with his Hot Cake Special pancake, coated with strawberry frosted flakes served with a hint of cinnamon and maple syrup with bacon on the side. Any one of these is the perfect delight for any breakfast lover.

Visit any of the four Hash House A Go Go locations in town and try these pancakes to decide which one will go on to be the winner.

Phil Lewis featuring Sin City Sinners – Monday Night Rocks
10:30 p.m.
Singer for the LA Guns and rock guitarist, Phil Lewis, will perform at Crown Theater alongside Sin City Sinners. Lewis started in the music industry when he formed a glam rock band called Girl, which signed with Jet Records in 1979 under Don Arden’s label, who happened to be Sharon Osbourne’s father. The group toured with acts such as Ozzy Osbourne and ZZ Top. Lewis eventually began working with guitarist Bernie Torme, touring and playing to sold-out audiences across England in 1985. In 1987, Lewis auditioned for the band L.A. Guns and was quickly picked up as the lead singer. After a lot of hard work, the band signed to Polygram Records and released their self-titled debut album in 1988. L.A. Guns opened for AC/DC and Def Leppard, among others, and sold more than half a million copies of the album in America alone. The song, “The Ballad of Jayne,” from their second album Cocked and Loaded, was a top 20 hit and was the most requested song on MTV for two weeks. Lewis took a break from the band and in 1994 he built a recording studio to start producing local bands. During this time, he also recorded his first solo album, More Purple Than Black. Between 1996 and 1998 he showed how multi-talented he was when he worked as the recording engineer/editor for the Fox Sports Network. A year later in 1999, the L.A. Guns reunited to record another album and tour Europe and Japan. In 2005, Lewis worked with producer Andy Johns and another friend to record Tales From The Strip, which received great reviews. He recently released the instrumental album, Green Room, which was released in 2010.

Lewis will join the Sin City Sinners, a band comprised of lead rock musicians that perform at different venues around Las Vegas. Guests must be 21 years or older to attend. Guests can visit http://www.mondaynightrocks.com/ for complimentary tickets.
