On August 20, 2016, PADRES CONTRA EL CÁNCER (PADRES), a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families, will celebrate its 16th annual fundraising event, the ‘El SUEÑO DE EPSERANZA’ CELEBRATION, in partnership with The Venetian® Las Vegas.

 

The ‘El Sueño de Esperanza’ is a weekend long celebration of HOPE providing supporters, sponsors and guests with different opportunities during their stay in Las Vegas.  Depending on the level of support, individuals will receive tickets to see “BAZ – Star Crossed Love,” a spa treatment at Canyon Ranch SpaClub®, tickets to the ‘El Sueño de Esperanza’ award ceremony, entry to the official after party at TAO® Nightclub, and a departing brunch at Morels French Bistro & Steakhouse.

Nevada Ballet Theatre (NBT) announced today that it will honor the multi-talented actress, singer, philanthropist and Las Vegas headliner Olivia Newton-John as Woman of the Year for the 32nd Annual Black & White Ball.  With more than 100 million albums sold, her successes include four Grammys, numerous Country Music, American Music, Billboard and People’s Choice Awards, an Emmy Award, ten #1 hits (including “Physical,” which topped the charts for ten consecutive weeks) and more than 15 top 10 singles. In 1978, her co-starring role with John Travolta in “Grease” catapulted her into super-stardom and to date remains the most successful movie musical of all time.  Newton-John’s many contributions to the performing arts and entertainment industry as well as her tireless charitable efforts will be celebrated on Saturday, January 23 at Wynn Las Vegas.

 

The Black & White Ball, which is chaired by Gillian Wynn, is the 44 year-old ballet company’s largest annual fundraiser. The successful singer brought her talents to the U.S. with her first state-side album, “Let Me Be There,” in 1973. Sugar Factory American Brasserie at Paris Las Vegas has introduced a new menu complete with dozens of new dining and cocktail selections.

Sugar Factory’s new executive chef, Matthew Piekarski, has added an array of selections to the entire menu, starting with two savory appetizers. The crispy Popcorn Shrimp is paired deliciously with remoulade slaw and classic horseradish cocktail sauce, and the spiced honey glazed chicken wings are tossed in house-made sauce.

Piekarski has also created a variety of hearty sandwiches including the Grilled Ham and Brie Sandwich, made with oven-roasted shaved ham, imported brie, arugula and fig preserves; the Double Grilled Cheese BLT Sandwich, made with applewood smoked bacon, butter lettuce, Muenster and American cheeses; and the Grilled Prime Steak Sandwich, made with prime top sirloin steak, sautéed onions, roasted peppers and Muenster cheese on whole grain bread.

New pizza selections include the flavorful Prosciutto Pizza, topped with spiced pear chutney, imported brie, fennel and roasted peppers and finished with truffle oil; and the Bacon and Artichoke Pizza, made with roasted garlic, mozzarella, fontina and parmesan.

New entrees include Sugar Factory’s Bouillabaisse made with mussels, clams, fresh white fish, gulf shrimp, calamari, scallops, saffron, tomato broth and grilled crostini; and Spicy Shrimp Pasta, made with gulf shrimp, sautéed in oil and chili flakes, a spicy tomato broth, lemon, baby spinach and dried chilies.

Known for its decadent desserts, Sugar Factory has added the S’Mores Crepe, topped with toasted marshmallows, crushed graham crackers, melted chocolate chunks, dark chocolate and vanilla bean ice cream; and the Rocky Road Pizza, made with milk chocolate chunks, dark chocolate sauce, marshmallow fluff and graham crackers. Eva Longoria and George Lopez Host Fundraising Gala at Tropicana Las Vegas

PADRES Contra El Cáncer (PADRES), a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, celebrated the expansion into the Las Vegas community by hosting its 11th annual fundraising gala, “El Sueño de Esperanza” gala hosted by actress Eva Longoria at the newly transformed Tropicana Las Vegas on Saturday, October 15. The evening, presented by Farmers Insurance Group, raised funds to benefit PADRES and the lifesaving work of the organization. Guests enjoyed gourmet cuisine and premier musical entertainment.

In June 2011, PADRES and Tropicana Las Vegas launched a cause-related partnership to promote pediatric cancer awareness and to provide opportunities to raise supplemental program funding. The first initiative under this partnership included PADRES’ largest fundraising campaign in 2011, “A Weekend of Latin Style & Entertainment,” was highlighted by the annual El Sueño De Esperanza” gala.
