About Stone Temple Pilots

With over 70 million albums sold, Stone Temple Pilots roared on to the scene in 1992 with their raucous debut, Core. A breakout success, the album peaked #3 on the Billboard 200 chart, and dominated radio waves with hits like “Sex Type Thing,” “Wicked Garden,” and the Grammy-Award winning smash single, “Plush.” STP  quickly distinguished themselves as a band beholden to no trend. Boasting the inimitable riffs of guitarist Dean DeLeo, the propulsive rhythm section of bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz, and the charismatic baritone of frontman Scott Weiland, STP ruled airways, video playlists and charts alike over their legendary career. The band released their seventh studio album, Stone Temple Pilots (2018), their first with new lead singer, Jeff Gutt. The debut single “Meadow” from the self-titled album, channels the gritty guitars and swaggering rhythms that STP is known for, and reached top 5 at rock radio. All Music Guide states, “They haven’t lost their knack for hook-heavy hard rock that wedges its way into the subconscious.”

About Rival Sons
Rival Sons – Jay Buchanan (vocals), Scott Holiday (guitar), Dave Beste (bass guitar), and Mike Miley (drums) – are currently celebrating the recent release of their acclaimed Low Country Sound / Atlantic Records debut LP, FERAL ROOTS.  Produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Dave Cobb at Nashville’s famed RCA Studio A, and the equally legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, AL, FERAL ROOTS features the #1 Rock Radio hit “Do Your Worst.”  The track was hailed by Rolling Stone as “a relentless rocker with a gritty verse spearheaded by a sinister lead guitar riff and thumping drums. The track takes a deft turn when it hits the chorus, forgoing out-and-out guitar bombast for rousing gang vocals with singer Jay Buchanan leading the charge.”  “In all its mood and style, FERAL ROOTS exudes a delicious instrumental blend of rock,” declared Consequence of Sound, while Glide Magazine affirmed, “Rival Sons clearly brought their A game with (FERAL)ROOTS,” adding Rival Sons are “an obvious choice as a challenger for today’s greatest rock and roll band.”  The primal intensity of FERAL ROOTS reflects a certain unrest at the heart of the album, pushing beyond pure survival instinct with hope for something more exalted: to reclaim a long-diluted genre with a galvanizing return to form.  FERAL ROOTS  is available now via Low Country Sound/Atlantic Records.

KOMP’S TOTALLY POLITICALLY CORRECT HOLIDAY BASH
Featuring
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS WITH CHESTER BENNINGTON
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS P.O.D. AND SICK PUPPIES

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15 AT 7PM

Tickets on-sale Friday at 10am!

KOMP 92.3 announced today they’re kicking off the holidays in true hard rock style. KOMP’S Totally Politically Correct Holiday Bash featuring Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington, P.O.D. and Sick Puppies will take over The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Sunday, December 15. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am.AEG Live

The men behind one of the most influential bands in rock and roll, bassist Robert DeLeo, guitarist Dean DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz of Stone Temple Pilots, made the bold decision to join forces with Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington in early 2013. With Bennington in the fold, STP ignited a renaissance of newfound independence.

Completely in control of their musical destiny, STP released on October 8 their highly anticipated EP, High Rise, which pulses with renewed energy and purpose. The band has manufactured five hook-heavy tracks that stand beside anything in their timeless catalog, while Bennington infuses the music with an impressive level of confidence in his new surroundings. These guys were just meant to play together. It’s a special treat for fans, who have supported STP and Linkin Park to the tune of tens of millions of records sold worldwide.

Leadoff single “Out of Time” announces the revamped outfit’s intentions with a bang. Featuring a signature STP groove, it affords Bennington an opportunity to showcase both aggressive attitude and addictive melodies, and the public concurs: “Out of Time” has hit #1 on both the Active and Modern Rock charts.

P.O.D. (Payable on Death) has the right to talk about passion in music. Passion has been front and center since the band formed in 1992 in San Diego, CA, and all the way up to the release of their eighth and latest record, Murdered Love. Over the last two decades, the group has sold over 10 million albums (including 2001’s triple platinum record Satellite), garnered four No. 1 music videos, three Grammy nominations and over a dozen rock radio hits, including “Southtown,” “Alive,” “Youth of the Nation” and “Goodbye For Now.” Music trends have come and gone, but P.O.D.’s fanbase has seemingly only grown stronger.

The most startling aspect of their latest album, Murdered Love, lies in its diversity and the band’s songwriting having penned every track on the album. The opener “Eyez” might be the band’s heaviest song yet, with a cameo by Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta. It contrasts sharply with “West Coast Rock Steady,” a playful hip-hop ode to their San Diego roots featuring Sen Dog of Cypress Hill. Meanwhile, “Panic & Run” is full-tilt punk, “Bad Boy” brings a funky swagger and first single “Lost in Forever” ties it all together with an equal mix of aggressiveness and melody. In the end, Murdered Love showcases a band at its most energetic and vital, nearly two decades after its debut. Sandoval agrees.

Sick Puppies’ recently released their third and most ambitious album, Connect. The trio is all about connection–with their fans, each other, their own psyches—and each of the dozen songs on Connect–from intense, epic rockers to mellower yet lyrically anguished ballads—is introspective yet also universal. From the first single, “There’s No Going Back” to the band’s most political song, the ironic “Gunfight,” Connect will exhilarate old fans and captivate new ones. The L.A.-based, Australian-bred band struck an elusive musical and lyrical balance of past and future on Connect.

Since the release of Tri-Polar (nearly half a million units to date and over 2 million single sold) and its slew of radio hits—the #1 Rock track “You’re Going Down,” the Top Five Modern Rock/Active Rock hits “Odd One” & “Riptide” and the cross-format anthemic smash “Maybe.” Connect (out July 16, 2013), with its melding of room-filling rockers and edgy yet poignant lyrics, is poised to be the Sick Puppies’ best-selling record yet.

Tickets, starting at $39.50 (plus applicable service fees), go on sale Friday at 10am at the Hard Rock Hotel Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.com or charge-by-phone at 800.745.3000.
