Last year, Escape: Psycho Circus welcomed a record-setting 125,000 Headliners to the NOS Events Center for two days of dance music as they wandered through the hellscape of Escape: Psycho Circus. Headliners were transported into an immersive world of twisted attractions, creepy characters, and unforgettable sets from dance music tastemakers across four monstrous stages. Amidst the sinister Psycho Circus, fans enjoyed the revolving carousel, contortionists, fortunetellers, and burlesque shows all weekend long. Over 5,000 revelers dared to enter the 32,000 square-foot Asylum, Escape’s largest and most intricate haunted maze. The frightening theater experience recreated 30 distinct rooms from seven years of Escape storylines, featuring 120 costumed actors and 25 sound systems. Those brave enough to admit themselves into the Asylum were dressed in a straitjacket and mask before entering the dark and dismal halls of the ward. Guests explored the twists and turns inside the maniacal Mad Hatter’s mind, where padded cells, blood showers, and graveyards awaited.

Insomniac Reveals Friends of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts as the Official Recipient of the 2018 EDC Week Charity Initiative

Insomniac Reveals Friends of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts as the Official Recipient of the
2018 EDC Week Charity Initiative

Yesterday (Tuesday, March 20), Insomniac surprised the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts (LVA) with a special ceremony announcing them as the recipient of this year’s EDC Week Charity Initiative. The student jazz band greeted guests at the LVA’s Lowden Theater, where Rich Thomas, Vice President of Content & Culture with Insomniac, shared the good news that the LVA, and its nonprofit counterpart, Friends of the Las Vegas Academy, would be the recipients this year.

“We were so impressed by the Las Vegas Academy and all the dedication and passion these students have for their art,” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac. “The entire school community fosters an environment of positivity, acceptance, and creative determination, and we’re honored to help further their careers in the arts with the funds raised from our fourth annual EDC Week Charity Initiative.”

The LVA is a nationally-recognized magnet high school serving approximately 1,700 students and is dedicated to providing students the opportunity to pursue a conservatory in the areas of dance, music, theater or the visual arts. Through the arts, the LVA promotes motivating, empowering and challenging each student to be academic, artistic and compassionate.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be the recipient of this year’s EDC Week Charity Initiative,” said Scott Walker, Principal of the Las Vegas Academy. “With the money raised from the initiative, we’ll be able to make such an impact in both our students’ education as well as within the arts community in Las Vegas.”

Since the program began in 2015, the annual charitable initiative has raised more than $350,000 for local Las Vegas charities, including Culture Shock Las Vegas, The Shade Tree and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. Over the last three editions, Insomniac has curated an incredible offering of more than 150 once-in-a-lifetime experiences with some of the world’s top dance music artists that fans were able to bid on, with all proceeds going towards the chosen charity. Experiences have included pizza making with Zomboy, Exotics Racing with Marshmello, a proposal during Kygo’s set on kineticFIELD, a DJ lesson with A-Trak, and much more.

More information surrounding the upcoming EDC Week Charity Initiative will be released in the coming weeks. A limited number of GA and VIP tickets for EDC Las Vegas are available for purchase here. Today, Insomniac released details surrounding a brand-new partnership for shuttle services that will provide transportation for fans attending the 22nd annual EDC Las Vegas taking place May 18 – 20 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The third-party company taking control of the massive shuttle operation for North America’s largest dance music festival will update and improve services to provide air-conditioned vehicles, a dedicated customer service team open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT, seven-days a week with extended coverage during the week of the show, and on-site shuttle support for fans traveling to and from EDC from a variety of Strip and Downtown locations. Shuttle passes will be available for purchase on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 12 p.m. PT, here.

“Transporting Headliners to and from the Speedway safely and conveniently remains a top priority for us,” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac. “This year, for the first time ever, we have laid down the foundation for a third party company to come in and run our shuttle operation. They are specialized in handling the largest music and sporting events in the world, and I’m confident they are going to improve the experience for Headliners.”

The official EDC Shuttles are the easiest way to get to and from the Speedway and the only charter bus option that drops fans off right at the festival gates. EDC Shuttles use a dedicated route to bypass regular traffic, and feature security pre-checks at each shuttle stop so fans can scan their festival wristband and walk straight into the event once they arrive each day.

Three-day Standard Shuttle passes begin at $90 before fees, while three-day Premier Shuttle passes start at $199 plus fees. All shuttle passes include three-day round-trip transportation to and from EDC with designated stops throughout Las Vegas. Standard in-bound service will begin daily at 6 p.m., with out-bound rides starting at 3 a.m. Headliners looking to attend the Opening Ceremonies at the festival can RSVP for early shuttles from 2 to 6 p.m. for a small additional cost of $5 per day. The gates to cosmicMEADOW will open at 3 p.m. with entertainment beginning at 4 p.m. Premier pass holders will be able to reserve their Las Vegas Strip and EDC departure times each day and receive one premium merchandise pack, as well as other daily goodies to enjoy on their ride and at the festival. Additional perks for both services include restrooms prior to boarding, security pre-checks to eliminate wait times upon arrival at EDC, and water at each location. On and off-site guest service teams will be available to help field questions and address concerns.

Standard shuttle locations include Downtown, MGM Festival Grounds, Mid-strip and the Rio Hotel and Casino. Premier shuttle locations include MGM Grand Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, and the Stratosphere. Premier shuttle pass holders will have earlier departure times than ever before, now beginning at 7 p.m. instead of 9 p.m.

EDC Las Vegas 2018 shuttle passes go on sale Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 12 p.m. PT, here.

Today, Insomniac announced that Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Las Vegas, North America’s largest dance music festival, will move from Father’s Day weekend in June to May in 2018 and introduce an array of new experiential elements. Returning to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for its 22nd edition, the three-day dusk till dawn gathering will now take place on Friday, May 18 through Sunday, May 20. Tickets for the globally renowned festival will go on sale Thursday, Sept. 28 at 12 p.m. PT, offering fans the option to camp for the first time, enjoy extended festival hours with early-entry opening ceremonies, access multiple ticketing tiers and affordable layaway plans, and discover brand new experiences that will make their EDC Las Vegas journey the most memorable yet.

“EDC Las Vegas is more than just a festival—it’s a community without boundaries, a celebration of life, art and dance music culture” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac. “We strive to make every year better than the last, and after a lot of brainstorming and feedback from our community, we have decided to move next year’s festival to May 18, 19 and 20. This way we can enjoy cooler weather, the gates can open earlier, and we can hold a very special opening ceremony each day at cosmicMEADOW. I’m also excited to announce that for the first time ever at EDC we’ll be building an immersive camping experience right next to the Speedway, which will eliminate traffic all together for campers. Shuttle operations will be handed over to an independent company that specializes in the largest music and sporting events in the country. This is what they do and they do it better than anyone else, year over year. I’m looking forward to revealing what this exciting next chapter of EDC Las Vegas will look like in the months to come.”

For the first time in history, the 2018 installment of the festival will offer a fully immersive camping program conveniently situated right next to the Speedway where the following options and amenities are available:

  • Rent an air-conditioned GA tent decked out with dust-control canvas walls, comfortable artificial grass, and electrical outlets for up to six attendees, max.
  • Rent an air-conditioned Premier tent complete with dust-control canvas walls, comfortable artificial grass, twin or queen-sized beds, linens, pillows, towels, tables, chairs, and lights for up to two or four attendees, max.
  • Bring your own RV and hook it up to the pre-arranged power on-site.
  • Rent an RV fully set up and ready for arrival, complete with linens and pillows provided by Insomniac.

The new camping areas will eliminate vehicle traffic for campers, offering an easy commute and convenient ins and outs of the festival each day. At the center of the campgrounds, fans can enjoy plenty of shade, seating, water, food and beverage vendors, a general store, activities and more. A neighboring area will allow for the creation of Sound Camps where Headliners can build out their own themed environments.

EDC Las Vegas 2018 will return to Las Vegas Motor Speedway with unparalleled access to the festival grounds for attendees who arrive at the venue early. The iconic cosmicMEADOW lawn will host opening ceremonies before the gates officially open each day; giving fans a chance to catch extended sets and cool down before the festivities begin. For the first time, Insomniac will also be turning over their EDC Las Vegas shuttle program to an independent team that operates the nation’s largest music and sporting events. With nearby construction on the I-15 Freeway set to be completed before the festival kicks off, the creation of three-lanes and a pull-off area will result in massive improvements for smoother traffic flow to and from the Speedway.

Early Owl three-day general admission passes start at $325 while VIP three-day passes start at $699, both before taxes and fees. Fans who miss out on Early Owl pricing will have the opportunity to purchase the newly added Wise Owl tier, priced at $340 plus taxes and fees for three-day general admission passes. For those that wait to purchase their EDC Las Vegas 2018 tickets, a Later Owl tier will be available for $355 plus taxes and fees. Headliners will have affordable layaway options for all ticket types, with additional details coming soon.

In June 2017, more than 400,000 Headliners came together over three days to explore the breathtaking spectacle of EDC Las Vegas amidst a community of accepting, music-loving individuals celebrating peace, positivity, and creativity. Lyft Partners with the Friends of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation for Safe Rides During EDC

As hundreds of thousands of people prepare for Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) June 16-18 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Lyft Las Vegas and the Friends of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation are urging partygoers to ride safe. The first 2,000 new and existing users can use code ‘RIDEEDC’ for 50% off two rides, up to $8 off per ride to and from the Speedway.

“We want everyone to have a great time at EDC and there is no excuse for impaired driving, especially when there are safe alternatives,” said Tom Kovach, executive director for the Friends of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation. “We are so pleased to partner with Lyft Las Vegas in their continuing efforts to keep our community safe this EDC weekend.”

“EDC is a truly epic weekend, but can be stressful with driving there, finding a place to park, and then getting home after a long night of dancing and music,” said Yacob Girma, Lyft Las Vegas general manager. “Lyft offers multiple tools to ensure a hassle-free night – you can schedule your ride ahead of time, grab all of your friends and split a Lyft Plus, or take Lyft Premier for a truly VIP experience!”

Insomniac’s Third Annual EDC Week Charity Auction and First Ever Surreal Sweepstakes Raises Record Breaking $162,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada

Insomniac’s Third Annual EDC Week Charity Auction and First Ever Surreal Sweepstakes Raises Record Breaking $162,000 for
Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada

The total funds raised will go towards enhancing art programs
at all 14 Boys & Girls Clubhouses in Southern Nevada

Insomniac, the production company behind North America’s largest three-day dance music festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, partnered with eBay for Charity and Surreal to give back to the communities of Southern Nevada with the third annual EDC Week Charity Auction and first-ever EDC Week Charity Sweepstakes. Hundreds of participating fans raised over $162,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada, which will fund fourteen comprehensive art programs across the region. During the EDC Week Charity Auction and Surreal Sweepstakes, thousands of bids were made for over 75 once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

“With each year of the EDC Week Charity auction, I am so grateful for the outpouring of support we receive from our fans and the community,” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac. “We partnered with Surreal for the first time to give everyone a fair shot at winning a special experience this year, and the response was incredible. Thank you to all that participated, because of you we raised our highest total yet for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada.”

During two unique phases of the EDC Week Charity Auction, fans from around the world had the opportunity to bid on unbelievable EDC experiences through eBay for Charity. Prizes included the chance to win The Golden Ticket to 10 Insomniac events throughout the year, to propose on stage at EDC Las Vegas, to take a helicopter tour over the festival and more. Headliners could also bid on creating priceless memories with some of their favorite artists, including the chance to pop champagne with Armin van Buuren, have a pizza party with Showtek, race across the track with Excision and much more.

As an extension of the EDC Week Charity Auction, Insomniac partnered with Surreal to launch the first EDC Week Charity Sweepstakes, where fans could enter to win a variety of experiences with the biggest names in dance music. During the festival, the winning fans will watch Major Lazer on stage, ride the Artist Ferris Wheel with Marshmello, catch Martin Garrix at OMNIA, take a helicopter tour of the festival with Pasquale Rotella, and more.

“When we discovered we were going to be the recipients of this year’s EDC Week Charity Auction and Surreal Sweepstakes, we never imagined such an incredible outpouring of generosity and support,” said Andy Bischel, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. “With these funds, we will be able to enhance 14 fully developed art programs, buy supplies, and foster creativity for our kids across Southern Nevada.”

Since the launch of the EDC Week Charity Auction in 2015, Insomniac, eBay For Charity, artists and premier Las Vegas businesses have raised over $355,000 for local nonprofits including Culture Shock Las Vegas, The Shade Tree, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada.
