Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas to kick off Oktoberfest with celebrity keg tapper Cesar Millan, Friday, Sept. 13

Welcome to the dog Haus!
Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas to kick off Oktoberfest
with celebrity keg tapper Cesar Millan, Friday, Sept. 13

Millan is the first of a full Oktoberfest lineup of celebrity keg tappers

For one night only, Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas will become the dog Haus, as it welcomes world-renowned dog whisperer Cesar Millan as the first celebrity keg tapper of the Oktoberfest season on Friday, Sept. 13. Millan will kick off the season by tapping the first keg of Oktoberfestbier while revelers celebrate the grand opening of his limited-engagement residency Cesar Millan – My Story: Unleashed at the David Copperfield Theater inside MGM Grand.

Millan is the first of several celebrity keg tappers, who will be on hand every Friday and Saturday night throughout Oktoberfest to tap the keg, while guests enjoy stein-holding contests, live entertainment, bar games, prizes and more.

Fellow keg tappers include performers Frankie Moreno (Saturday, Sept. 14), FANTASY (Friday, Sept. 20), Jeff Civillico (Saturday, Sept. 21), Hans Klok (Friday, Sept. 27), Raiding the Rock Vault (Saturday, Sept. 28), Crazy Girls (Friday, Oct. 4), Rick Harrison (Saturday, Oct. 5), The Australian Bee Gees (Friday, Oct. 11), Anthony Cools (Saturday, Oct. 12), Chippendales (Friday, Oct. 18), Zowie Bowie (Saturday, Oct. 19), Murray SawChuck (Friday, Oct. 25) and Ricardo Laguna (Saturday, Oct. 26).

Come for the party and stay for the food! Before Oktoberfest had its own designated brew, taverns and eating houses, including the original Hofbräuhaus in Munich, served up delicious seasonal fare for guests to enjoy. Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas continues that time-honored tradition by offering daily Oktoberfest specials every day of the week.

Monday: Biergulasch (tender beef braised in goulash spices and HB dark beer)

Tuesday: Bier Bratl “Oktoberfest” (pork roast with onion beer gravy)

Wednesday: Oktoberfest Jägerhackbraten (homemade German-style meat loaf topped with creamy mushroom sauce, served with mashed potatoes, cucumber salad and garnished with crispy fried onions)

Thursday: HB Räucherplatte (an assortment of smoked Bavarian meats and sausages)

Friday: HB-Oktoberfest Rouladen (braised beef roll with bacon, onions and pickles) and Schweinshaxe (crispy pork shank)

Saturday: Schweinshaxe (crispy pork shank)

Sunday: Oktoberfest Schmankerl Tower (an assortment of Bavarian meat and poultry specials on a three-tiered tower)

Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas is the only place in Las Vegas where beer lovers can taste the same Oktoberfestbier that is served at the Oktoberfest in Munich. The full-bodied lager is brewed to perfection and sports a 6.3 percent alcohol by volume. Oktoberfestbier is imported from the same batches made for the Oktoberfest tent in Munich to Hofbräuhaus locations across the country. Luckily, partiers don’t need to go to Munich to enjoy this famous flavor. The Las Vegas location alone serves an average of 22,500 liters or 5,943 gallons per month.

Oktoberfest runs from Friday, Sept. 13 through Thursday, Oct. 31 and reservations are highly recommended. Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays until midnight. To make a reservation, please call 702.853.BEER (2337) or visit HofbrauhausLasVegas.com.

  • Traditional Entrees: Carved tableside, the 45 Day Dry-Age Tomahawk Ribeye  is served with charred lemon and roasted garlic. Additional specialties include the Wild Spanish Carbineros “Shrimp Scampi” sautéed with olive oil, garlic, parsley and lemon and the Whole Grilled Branzino, prepared on a wood-fired grill, complete with a salsa verde and charred lemon.
  • Dessert: Showstopping desserts include the Bellini, a combination of prosecco granita, blood orange sorbet, granola and cotton candy lit ablaze tableside, and a decadent Tiramisu layered with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream, topped with cocoa powder, dark chocolate and edible gold.

Beverage Program

  • Privata -. The intimate speakeasy within Ambra is a relaxing reprieve offering guests a tour through years of beloved drinks beginning with the 1850 Sazerac, first created in New Orleans with cognac, Demerara, Peychaud’s bitters and an absinthe rinse, to the 1940 Margarita, originating in Mexico during the turn of the 20th century. Privata is an ode to liquid history with a menu highlighting cocktails that are simple yet intricate and refined.  The cocktail menu details the offerings chronologically including illustrations, recipes and historical information.

Design
Reminiscent of Milan at dusk, Ambra is adorned with warm jewel tones and rich earthy shades. The glow of the honey-golden onyx countertop creates a radiant centerpiece within the bar and lounge, while the splashes of color and contemporary furnishings throughout the dining room complement the upbeat music and sensual ambiance.

Privata is inspired by the luxury interior of an Italian sports cars. Sleek leathers, brown hues and a soothing fireplace make the setting warm and inviting to juxtapose with the main dining room’s vibrant, high-energy atmosphere.

Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens celebrates the Year of the Pig with a captivating display envisioned by renowned designer Ed Libby in collaboration with the Bellagio Horticulture team and Feng Shui Master George Yau. The gardens radiate hues of red and gold with 32,000 flowers, silk-lantern chandeliers and a family of pigs as the centerpiece.

Four happy, golden pigs welcome guests as they enter the Conservatory through breathtaking 20-foot jade medallions. Regarded as one of the most valuable and precious stones in Asian culture, jade signifies wisdom, bravery and honesty. Five pendants crown the top of the pavilion, each decorated with a gilded dragon.

A family of pigs capture visitors’ attention as they walk through the entryway surrounded by the riches of nature. Nine piglets are seen frolicking through fields of fruit and corn. Nearby, the North Bed depicts notable landmarks of Macau, including the Golden Lotus sculpture. The original sculpture marks the return of the sovereignty of Macau to China, marking its 20th anniversary this year. Across the gardens, a 32-foot tall replica of the Temple of Six Banyan Trees, a Buddhist temple in Guangzhou, China, towers over the South Garden closely guarded by two Chinese Fu Dogs. Giant red lanterns strung with fire crackers brighten the gardens overhead while koi fish swim in the tranquil pond below.

The Conservatory is complimentary and open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Lunar New Year display is open now through March 9.

According to Chinese culture, the pig is the 12th animal in the Zodiac and serves as a symbol of wealth, honesty and general prosperity. Individuals born in the Year of the Pig are known to be hardworking, compassionate and generous. They are ambitious and have a strong sense of responsibility to always achieve their goals.

Dragon & Lion Dances

Dynamic and colorful dragon and lion dances will commemorate the Year of the Pig at Bellagio, ARIA and MGM Grand:

  • MGM GrandTuesday, Feb. 5 at 4 p.m. inside the main lobby with a processional through the casino.
  • Bellagio – Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m. at the main porte cochere with a processional through the casino.
  • ARIA – Thursday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the main valet with a processional through the casino.
Yau Kung Moon will perform the Chinese dragon and lion dances at all three resorts in a traditional Southern Shaolin Kung Fu system with a modern flair. Southern Shaolin Kung Fu is a collection of martial arts with more than 1,000 years of history. Yau Kung Moon, which translates to “Style of Flexible Power,” is one of the world’s most respected martial arts, dragon and lion dance organizations. Known for its trademark gold uniforms and innovative routines, Yau Kung Moon has been recognized internationally for being the first U.S. team to compete in the 1990 Invitational World Lion Dance Festival in Malaysia.

ARIA

Beginning Friday, Jan. 25, ARIA’s main lobby will be adorned in celebratory décor to honor the Year of the Pig.

Three Chinese Deities: Fuk, Luk and Sau, will greet guests upon check-in at ARIA’s front desk. The deities personify the important aspirations of mankind: happiness, wealth and longevity.

A 196-foot dragon will hang from the lobby’s ceiling, weaving its way around a spectacular money tree made up of 88 golden coins symbolizing wealth and good fortune. Pigs will surround the base of the tree.

Throughout the resort, guests also will encounter more than 50 spectacular floral arrangements, kumquat citrus trees with lucky money envelopes, a nine-foot pig covered in vibrant floral near the Baccarat Lounge and a special Buddha garden at North Valet.

MGM Grand

MGM Grand’s main lobby recently transformed into a Lunar New Year spectacle with vibrant displays of eye-catching floral décor surrounding the resort’s iconic lion. Custom filigree arches with Year of the Pig medallions also hang between the lobby’s columns while playful panda bears greet guests on the banks of the front desk.

Culinary Specialties

Select MGM Resorts International restaurants are honoring the Year of the Pig with festive menus and specials. Highlights include Braised Whole Abalone at Lemongrass at ARIA, Brittany Blue Lobster Sashimi at Morimoto Las Vegas at MGM Grand and Chinese Roast Pork Belly at Rice and Company at Luxor.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL AND BLUE MAN GROUP PERFORM ON ICE DURING TWO INTERMISSION PERFORMANCES AT VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS GAME, DEC. 22

On Saturday, Dec. 22, Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group will bring their imaginative acts to the T-Mobile Arena as they perform on ice during two intermission breaks at the Vegas Golden Knights game against the Montreal Canadiens. Before the intermission performances and to mark the start of the game, audience members can enjoy the Canadian National Anthem serenaded by Rochelle Collins, regularly seen on stage at KÀ at MGM Grand.

During the first intermission, 25 cast members of the fan-favorite resident show KÀ, will dazzle the audience as they rappel from the ceiling cascading to the ice. Drawing inspiration from KÀ’s theme, a theatric battle will take place between the imperial court and the chief archer and his spearmen when the court’s festivities are interrupted.

For the second intermission performance, Blue Man Group will awe audience members with a one-of-a-kind musical performance of Creature Feature, an exclusive piece found only in their Las Vegas production. Featuring electrifying sounds made with unexpected instruments, like the Percussipedes and the Chimeulum, Creature Feature will conclude with a unique tribal drumming experience that only the Blue Men can create.

To begin the day with a full-service Cirque du Soleil experience, those attending the game can enjoy KÀ and Blue Man Group virtual reality experiences on the plaza ahead of the game and pose for photos with interactive billboards as a backdrop.

Washington Capitals Celebrate Stanley Cup Win At Hakkasan Nightclub Las Vegas

WASHINGTON CAPITALS CELEBRATE STANLEY CUP WIN AT HAKKASAN NIGHTCLUB LAS VEGAS
The newly crowned champs party with the Stanley Cup and Tiesto

After winning the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history, the Washington Capitals celebrated at Las Vegas’ legendary Hakkasan Nightclub early Friday morning, just hours after they were crowned.

The champagne-soaked NHL champions arrived at the MGM Grand hotspot at 1 a.m. with the Stanley Cup in hand. Alex Ovechkin led his team to two VIP tables while hoisting the Cup over his head as he walked through the club. After setting hockey’s top prize down briefly to kiss it, he again hoisted it above his head and went straight to the DJ booth.

“Ovi” then returned to his VIP table where he joined the rest of the champs, including Braden Holtby, T.J. Oshie, Brooks Orpik. Moments later, “The Great 8” again took the cup to the DJ booth to celebrate with Tiesto, who was manning the turntables — both were seen kissing the cup. “Ovi” later led the crowd in a “Let’s Go Caps” chant, despite the fact he was in enemy territory, having just dispatched the home team, the Vegas Golden Knights.

During the hour-long celebration, the players sipped on Grey Goose, Don Julio 1942 and cases of beer. When the Caps players weren’t kissing and dancing with Lord Stanley’s Cup, it stood nearby taking in the party.

MGM Resorts International Rings in the Year of the Dog with Celebratory Dances and Vibrant Displays

MGM Resorts International Rings in the Year of the Dog with Celebratory Dances and Vibrant Displays

Throughout Bellagio, ARIA and MGM Grand

MGM Resorts International is celebrating Lunar New Year 2018, the Year of the Dog, with festive dragon and lion dances and spectacular displays.

According to Chinese culture, the dog is the 11th animal in the Chinese Zodiac and is a symbol of fortune and longevity. Individuals born in the Year of the Dog are known to be responsible, loyal, honest and hardworking. They are always ready to help and enjoy putting others needs before their own.

In addition to experiencing traditional Lunar New Year menus throughout several MGM Resorts’ restaurants, guests are invited to celebrate with a series of special events:

Dragon & Lion Dances
Dynamic and colorful dragon and lion dances will commemorate the Year of the Dog at Bellagio, ARIA and MGM Grand:

  • MGM Grand – Friday, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. inside the main lobby with a processional through the casino
  • Bellagio – Saturday, Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. at the main porte cochere with a processional through the casino
  • ARIA – Sunday, Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the main valet with a processional through the casino

Yau Kung Moon will perform the Chinese dragon and lion dances at all three resorts, in a traditional Southern Shaolin Kung Fu system with a modern flair.

Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens celebrates the Year of the Dog with a festive display envisioned by renowned designer Ed Libby in collaboration with the Bellagio Horticulture team and Feng Shui Master George Yau. The gardens are brought to life by colorful lanterns, thousands of I-Ching coins and a larger-than-life dog as the centerpiece.

Upon entering the Conservatory through the East Garden, visitors will walk through a circular dome draped in thousands of red roses and yellow forsythia. At the garden’s edge, ding pots – ancestral vessels that protect against bad fortune – burn incense from their peaks for good luck.

Capturing visitors’ attention as they walk through the entryway, an 18-foot Siberian Husky stands guard atop a mountain overflowing with I-Ching coins, a traditional Chinese symbol for money. A 16-foot Moon Gate towers over the South Garden, highlighting lush vegetation and a tranquil pond. Across the Conservatory in the North Garden is an 18-foot money tree flourishing with 384 oversized gold-leafed coins on its branches.

The Conservatory is complimentary and open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Lunar New Year display is open now through March 3.

ARIA
Beginning Friday, Feb. 9, ARIA’s main lobby will be adorned in celebratory décor to honor the Year of the Dog.

Dog sculptures covered in silver and gold leaves will be incorporated into the floral décor.

Throughout the resort, guests also will encounter cherry blossoms, Chinese lanterns and lions.

MGM Grand
On Thursday, Feb. 8, MGM Grand’s main lobby will transform into a Lunar New Year spectacle with a vibrant display featuring the iconic Leo the Lion surrounded by eight panda bears and eye-catching floral décor. Custom filigree arches with Year of the Dog medallions will hang between the lobby’s columns. Upon check-in, guests will be greeted by six panda bears on the banks of the front desk.
