The 15-minute flight offers festivalgoers and headliners an easy commute to Las Vegas Motor Speedway each day. Prior to takeoff, passengers can enjoy hanging out in Maverick Helicopters’ themed terminal which transforms to create a festival-like atmosphere. In the private terminal, guests may sip on specialty cocktails, snap photos and dance to electronic dance music before boarding Maverick Helicopters’ ECO-star aircraft.

 

Once aboard, guests can use voice-activated headsets to talk to the pilots and listen to electronic dance music; sit back and relax and take in stunning, bird’s-eye views of the Las Vegas Strip. In 2019, guests experienced a special curated playlist by Tiësto. To add to the experience, passengers are often surprised by artists or celebrities on their VIP transfers. The Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival Returns for Its 26th Year at Sunset Park this October
Travel back in time when lords, ladies and ‘GOLDEN’ knights ruled the kingdom with three days of family fun

Stroll amongst villages and guilds, converse with royalty and show your true knighthood as Clark County Parks and Recreation presents the 26th Annual Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival at Sunset Park Oct. 11-13, 2019. For more than two decades, the three-day outdoor festival has brought more than 35,000+ locals and visitors together for a weekend full of authentic medieval fun. The festival boasts more than 100 artisans craftsmen from throughout the U.S. and Canada including gold and silver smiths, stained glass designers, costume makers, wood workers, toy makers, leather workers, perfume blenders, potters, armor makers and many more.

The Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $18 per day in advance for adults ($20 day of event) and $8 per day in advance for seniors ages 60 and older and children ages six to 12 ($10 day of event). Children five and younger are free. Three-day passes can be purchased in advance for $35 for adults and $18 for children ages six to 12 and seniors ages 60 and older. The Royalty Package includes three-day admission with unlimited re-entry, an event T-shirt and an 18×24 commemorative poster. Three-day passes and advance tickets are available through www.lvrenfair.com. The box office will be open at the festival starting at 9 a.m. daily during the fair.

Those interested in being in the heart of it all can camp like royalty during the festival with their special Yurt Package for $469 which includes a 14×14 pre-assembled yurt, 20×20 camping space, early arrival pass, overnight camping Thursday – Sunday, parking spot, four three-day fair passes, four festival t-shirts and four festival posters. Camp spots are limited and are on a first come, first serve basis. Festival goers have the opportunity to pick their spot on Thursday, Oct. 10 between 3-7 p.m. Additional camping packages and amenity upgrades are also available starting at $199. Early bird tickets are $149 through Sunday, Sept. 1. Camping can be booked online at www.lvrenfair.com/camping.

The festival presents various shows per day along with historical re-enactments such as full-contact jousting tournaments from Imperial knights, live combat battles, no-holds-barred gladiator battles, black powder demonstrations, strolling minstrels, contortionists, magicians, storytellers, jokers, jugglers, flame eaters, belly dancers, trained parrots and pirates. Additional attractions include bow and arrow and axe target games, medieval barber and surgeon demonstrations, Princess Tea Party and storytelling, Scavenger Hunt and Renaissance guilds. Feast on a variety of food and drink offerings including traditional fare such as turkey legs, Shepard’s pie, beers, ales and more. This year’s live entertainment will feature music on various stages from Shifting Sands, Nature of Mercy, Bogtrotter’s Union, Black Rose, Tipsy McCraken and more.

Event parking will be available at Sunset Park. Overflow parking lots are located at Del Sol High School (3100 E. Patrick Lane) beginning Friday from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Cannon Junior High (5850 Euclid Street) only as needed. Free shuttle service is available to and from the festival grounds approximately every 15 minutes. Guests should refrain from parking at area businesses as they will tow unauthorized vehicles.

Patrons may bring one sealed bottle of water, sunscreen, blankets and still camera. No unauthorized vending, concessions, merchandise, literature or promotions allowed. Any participants in costume must have all related props or weapons peace tied, or those items will be denied at time of entry. No carry-in food or beverages, pets, lawn chairs or weapons (with or without permit) are allowed inside the festival area. No re-entry is allowed. ATMs will be on site and located by the each entrance gate, next to the main food court and in the vendor village. Alcohol sales begin at 1 p.m. on Friday and sales will cease at 9 p.m. both Friday and Saturday evening and 4 p.m. on Sunday. All alcohol sales are ages 21+ with proper identification.

Now in its third year, the event organizers opted to expand the unique experience into two days, giving even more attendees the opportunity to join the collective elevation of peoples’ hopes, dreams, resolutions, goals and desires. The breathtaking event will return to the Moapa River Reservation, just 35 miles outside of Las Vegas.

 Rock in Rio today announced transportation options for the inaugural Rock in Rio USA music festival taking place May 8-9 and 15-16 in Las Vegas. Working closely with local Las Vegas authorities, Rock in Rio has developed a plan to provide convenient access for festival attendees at a minimal impact to local residents and tourists.

With no parking allowed in the area surrounding the venue, attendees are encouraged to arrive each day by the Las Vegas Monorail, shuttle or foot:

  • Las Vegas Monorail – Rock in Rio and the Las Vegas Monorail established a partnership and have developed customized schedules for the Monorail in order to maximize capacity and minimize wait times. For those arriving from other locations on The Strip, the venue is conveniently located a short walk from the SLS Las Vegas and Westgate Las Vegas Monorail stops. The Las Vegas Monorail operates from 7 AM until 3 AM, with options of single ride ($5), 24-hour ($12) and 2-day passes ($22.00), but a temporary discount is available for all multiple day passes from two to seven days on https://tickets.lvmonorail.com/rockinriousa2015/.
  • Shuttles – Pre-paid shuttle passes are available, offering attendees a quick, comfortable ride to the event.  Shuttles will pick up from three locations: the MGM Resorts Village across from Luxor and Mandalay Bay, the Downtown Events Center  and the World Market Center. All Shuttles will drop guests off at the conveniently located Gold Lot at the Las Vegas Convention Center, which is a short walk to the venue entrance. Return shuttle service will be available from the Gold Lot at the Las Vegas Convention Center to all three pick up locations. Shuttles to the venue will run each day from 2:30 PM until 11 PM, with return service running 10 PM until 2:30 AM. 2-day shuttle passes are available for $25.
  • Pedestrian Traffic – For attendees staying within a 15 to 20 minute walking distance of the venue, walking is recommended for venue access. Pedestrian entrances will be easily accessible from Las Vegas Boulevard.

Absolutely no parking will be available at the venue and road closures surrounding the festival will require access by one of the above recommended transportation methods.

Life is Beautiful Festival Searches for Local Talent with
Monthly Music Showcases Beginning February 6

Aspiring artists appear in free concerts for a chance to perform at the two-day festival this Fall

Launching its search for the best musicians in the Valley, Life is Beautiful presents a series of free local concerts designed to showcase homegrown talent for the opportunity of a lifetime. Local and regional bands, DJs and solo musicians will be on display starting Wednesday, February 6 in varying Downtown Las Vegas venues, playing for a spot on stage during the highly anticipated festival this Fall.

“A large part of the Life is Beautiful festival will be centered on music, and marquee bands of course,” said Craig Nyman, Head of Music for festival curators Aurelian Marketing Group, “but the opportunity to find and showcase local talent is of great importance to us. At the end of the day, our festival is taking place in the heart of Las Vegas and it is our goal to inspire the entire community by staging top-notch entertainment, no matter where it’s from.”

At the first of these monthly showcases will be six local bands spanning genres from classic rock to pop and folk on Wednesday, February 6 starting at 8 p.m. at Artifice at 1025 First Street. Featured artists include:

 

 

Public is welcome and admission to this and future showcases is free. Subsequent showcases will be announced as they are planned. Humor, music and a little mayhem. You’ll get it all in the full presentation of The Official Blues Brothers Revue at the Cannery Casino’s indoor concert venue on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.  The performance begins at 8 p.m.

The Official Blues Brothers Revue, featuring Wayne Catania  as “Jake” and Kieron Lafferty as “Elwood”, is an entertaining and unique show that blends music and humor as only the Blues Brothers delivered it.

The Blues Brothers, first portrayed by John Belushi and Dan Akroyd on Saturday Night Live in 1978, and in The Blues Brothers movie have had many interpretations over the years.  But only one can be truly called “official”, and only one is sanctioned by Dan Akroyd and The Belushi Estate.

After learning of Catania and Lafferty’s performance as the Blues Brothers, Judy Belushi Pisano asked the two to audition for the stage musical The Official Blues Brothers Revival.  The two were cast as Jake and Elwood and the musical ran successfully in Chicago in 2004.  From that production, The Official Blues Brothers Revue was born.

The live concert show combines the entertaining comedy and hits from the original Blues Brothers movie and pays tribute to Chicago’s rich history of blues, gospel, and soul music.  The Revue delivers all the passion and precision that the original Blues Brothers Band delivered. It’s uplifting, upbeat and true to the duo who inspired it all.

Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival

On Saturday, June 23, the Cannery Casino kicks off the 9th Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival in the outdoor area.  It features a collection of a dozen micro and craft brewed beers and ciders as well as BBQ from H&H Barbeque, Austin Blues Bar-B-Q and Lone Coyote Smokehouse & Grill.  Beers, Ciders and BBQ will be available for sale on site.

Entrance to the Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival, which begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday, is $10 at the door.  The entertainment includes performances by John Lee Hooker, Jr., selected songs from The Official Blues Brothers Revue, along with Sputzy and the Soul Providers.  In addition, New Orleans native Ironing Board Sam, who plays his keyboard on an actual ironing board, will also entertain the crowd with his unusual musical talent.

To say John Lee Hooker, Jr. was familiar with the blues as a young child is a vast understatement.  As the son of blues legend John Lee Hooker, the blues were always present as “little” Hooker was growing up. He was exposed to such greats as Jimmie Reed, Washboard Willie and Boogie Woogie Red. By the time he turned 18 years old, John Lee Hooker, Jr. was a recording artist performing with his father.

49TH ANNUAL ART IN THE PARK EVENT – October 1 & 2, 2011

Jennifer Main has been named Featured Artist for the Boulder City Hospital Foundation’s 49th Annual Art in the Park event. Main’s unique style is instantly recognizable for her whimsy and fearless use of vibrant color. “My favorite subjects to paint are my own characters which I create in my mind,” Main says. “I often use them to express a positive message about an aspect of life’s complex journey.”

As a young girl Main discovered she had a strong passion for painting. She began selling her work in galleries at the age of 17 and quickly became one of the top selling artists within the galleries. With growing confidence, hard work, and determination she experienced 13 years as a successful full-time artist. Main’s work is shown in galleries nationally and is available locally at her Las Vegas gallery. Main’s popularity continues to grow worldwide as collectors and fans are drawn to her vibrant art. Art in the Park is one of the largest outdoor juried art festivals in the Southwest.
