LAS VEGAS (May 23, 2013) – Hakkasan Las Vegas at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino will welcome resident headliner Calvin Harris as he takes over the turntables Sunday, June 2. The dance music maestro has announced today via social media that he added an extra day to his already set 46 dates and clubgoers will have an extra opportunity to experience the exclusive party.

Earlier this month the nightlife mecca unveiled its action-packed June DJ line-up which includes frequent performances by the nightclub’s exclusive resident DJs Tiësto and Calvin Harris along with its impressive roster of featured artists (in alphabetical order) Bambi, Bingo Players, Dada Life, Danny Avila, Fergie, Hardwell, Michael Woods, Nervo, Quintino, R3hab, TJR and Tommy Trash.

Hard Rock LIVE on the Las Vegas Strip welcomed Country artist Katie Armiger last night for a special fundraising performance.

The event last night co-sponsored by 102.7 The Coyote was to benefit Children’s Miracle Network. Katie performed four songs off of her current album Fall Into Me and donated 100% of the sales of her CD from last night to Children’s Miracle Network. Katie also hosted a meet & greet with her fans afterwards.

The accomplished young star also donated a dress designed by Joanna Chen from her appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in August 2012; which coincidentally was the same night her video for “Better In A Black Dress” went to #1, to the Hard Rock International Memorabilia Collection.

Armiger is currently touring in support of her critically acclaimed 4th release, Fall Into Me. Armiger co-wrote all fourteen songs on Fall Into Me, which she totes as a diary of the past two years of her life. Having opted to once again work with Grammy award-winning producer, Chad Carlson, on her 4th release allowed Katie to have quite a bit of control over the album’s direction. Katie has opened for some of the biggest artists in country including Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker and most recently shared the stage with the legendary George Jones in his final concert. A big fan of giving back to the community influenced her affiliation and efforts with Children’s Miracle Network.

American hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar brought his good kid, m.A.A.d city tour to the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas last night (Wednesday, May 22) for a completely sold out show. Special guests Ab-Soul and Jay Rock opened the show in “Top Dawg” style, but it was the Compton king, Kendrick Lamar, who hypnotized the at-capacity crowd. Hailed as the rap genius of his generation, Lamar’s laid-back vibe had the audience singing along to nearly every word. Lamar’s reflective rhymes and smooth, crisp beats were the highlight of the evening, exemplified by tracks like “Money Trees,” “Swimming Pools (Drank),” and “Don’t Kill My Vibe.”

Join HELP of Southern Nevada for its 19th-annual Golfers’ Roundup at Spanish Trail Country Club on Monday, June 17.

Every year, HELP of Southern Nevada supporters rally together to compete in Golfers’ Roundup, a competitive golf tournament and luncheon benefitting the local nonprofit. This year’s event will feature a spirited tournament followed by a barbecue luncheon and awards ceremony. All golfers will also receive a tournament cap and gift bag. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

“We are happy that the Golfers’ Roundup continues to be such an integral event for HELP of Southern Nevada,” remarked Golfers’ Roundup Chairman Tom Kummer. “The Roundup has come a long way since its humble beginnings 19 years ago. I’m proud to see that it has grown into such a beneficial event.”

A top-12 finalist in Ford’s “Gimme the Gig II” nationwide search for the ultimate independent musician, Seattle pop singer and songwriter Rachel Wong will release her new album, “Letters to You,” on iTunes and on Spotify May 28. CDs will be available, and a new music video of the album’s single “Center Stage,” directed by Jordan Nicholson, will premiere at a free album release show in Portland, OR, June 29.  Wong will next perform in Seattle at the Wing Luke Museum’s Jamfest, July 18, and at the Bellevue Festival of the Arts, July 27. 

Wong was selected from more than 2,500 artists nationwide as a finalist in Ford’s “Gimme the Gig II” contest.  Finalists were chosen by popular online vote, Ford, Grammy-winning producer of the year Don Was, and Grammy-winning producer Krish Sharma.  During the competition, Wong’s acoustic, soulful pop sound was compared to “Sara Bareilles, but on the guitar.” 

Tracks from Rachel’s first album and single, “Curtain Fall,” can now be heard on radio stations in Canada and the Philippines. Her second album, “Letters to You,” takes you on a a 10-track musical journey from the pop anthem production of “Center Stage” to the island-flavored “Beach Bum Living.” Wong transforms her acoustic signature sound with fuller instrumentation, including strings, bongos, keys and handclaps. Album tracks feature her soothing, powerful vocals and catchy songs, accentuated by the sincere warmth of her lyrics. A music video to accompany “Center Stage,” directed by Jordan Nicholson, who also directed Seattle-based “The Blue Scholars” last video, will be released on YouTube and on RachelWongMusic.com shortly after the “Letters to You” album release show on June 29.

A Vancouver, WA, native, Wong began her musical training at age 3, by learning to play the piano. She learned to play drums in her elementary school band, and by the eighth grade she was writing her own songs and had taught herself how to play the guitar. She sang and played at her church and school choir, and she never stopped writing songs characterized as catchy, genuine, and relatable. Wong has an innate ability to draw from everyday love and loss, and uses it to connect with her Seattle fans, who have responded enthusiastically to her performances at the Triple Door, and other local venues.
