Comedian Sinbad returns to Green Valley Ranch Resort

Comedian Sinbad returns to Green Valley Ranch Resort

Friday, July 3, 2020 at 8 p.m.
Tickets on sale Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10 a.m.

Comedy legend Sinbad is returning to Las Vegas for a special performance at the Grand Events Center inside Green Valley Ranch Resort on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $25 plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10 a.m.

Actor and comedian Sinbad arrived on the comedy scene with a “hit’em in the face” style of comedy that has kept audiences laughing in the aisles for over the past two decades. He freely admits that he doesn’t know any jokes, except for the ones that his dad told him “back in the day,” Sinbad’s comedy is about stories, and boy does he tell stories! The basis of his humor comes from everyone he meets, everything he’s seen, and everything he’s done.

Ranked by Comedy Central as one of the top 100 standup comedians of all time, Sinbad has built a loyal following by taking audiences’ painful trials or embarrassing tribulations of day-by-day life, throwing them back in their faces, and causing an uproar of comedic hysteria. He can also make it sound profound without being profane. Not that he’s any kind of choirboy, but by being the son of a preacher man he decided to keep his comedy clean after his father attended one of his early performances. Up to that time he had been what he describes himself as “semi-dirty.” Sinbad says that he learned that night that “funny is funny”, and that masters of dirty comedy such as Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce could all work clean without losing a step.

Tickets for Sinbad are $25, $35, $45 and $55 plus applicable fees for reserved seating. Doors open at 7 p.m. All tickets go on sale Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at any Station Casinos Reward Center and The Fiestas, by logging onto www.stationcasinoslive.com or through Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com.

GREEN VALLEY RANCH RESORT

Shaun Cassidy
Venue: Grand Events Center
Genre: Rock
Date: Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 at 8 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $25, $35, $45 and $55 plus applicable fees
Artist Info:  An iconic pop star of the 70’s and 80’s, a successful Broadway and West End actor in the 90s, and a major writer/producer in television to this day, Shaun rose to fame in ABC’s popular series, The Hardy Boys Mysteries. Along the way, he enjoyed a massive recording career, garnering hits like “Da Doo Ron Ron,” “That’s Rock ‘n’ Roll,” “Hey Deanie” and “Do You Believe In Magic.” After selling out arenas nationwide, and sharing a year-long run on Broadway in Blood Brothers with his late half-brother, David Cassidy, Shaun moved behind the scenes to become one of television’s top writers, creating shows like American Gothic, Invasion, and producing series like NBC’s current hit, New Amsterdam. Barbra & Frank
Venue: Grand Events Center
Genre: Classic
Date: Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at 8 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $15 plus applicable fees
Artist Info:  It is unlikely that the two powerhouse voices of the century would have ever shared the same stage…until now! They never worked together, exactly, except when they taped a duet in separate recording sessions, but it’s tantalizing to think what it would have been like to have Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra teamed up for a concert tour. Just imagine the possibilities. Would one have outshone the other? Would their onstage banter have been friendly or a bit snippy? In the Las Vegas Hit show, “Barbra and Frank”, the rapport of these two 20th century icons is immediately prevalent. “As good as the music is, the banter between the stars is equally memorable.” “The Concert That Never Was…” includes segments in which Streisand and Sinatra create masterful duets of “Somewhere”, “Something Stupid” and “New York New York”. A highlight of the show is a delicate blending of two of their signature songs as Sinatra croons verses from “It Was A Very Good Year” intertwined with Streisand’s memorable “The Way We Were”. Today, Sharon and Sebastian captivate audiences worldwide with their originally self-produced Las Vegas show that brings laughter, tears and joy to every person watching. Sebastian’s crooning sounds of Sinatra bring “memories” to an audience who remember the late great “ol’ blue eyes” himself. While the uncanny looks of Sharon brings out the Funny Girl herself, Streisand, does it the only way she knows how…Her Way.

SUNSET STATION

Edwin McCain
Venue: Club Madrid
Date: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 at 8 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $32.50 plus applicable fees
Artist Info:  Called the “great American romantic” by the New York Times, Edwin McCain has built an enviable career over the past 20 years by balancing his massive pop success with the year-round touring schedule of a tireless troubadour.  His hit songs, authentic spirit and surprisingly affable sense of humor keep fans coming back time and time again for nights that feel more like parties with old friends than rock concerts. After recording two of the biggest love songs in the history of pop music and experiencing the success that comes with a television show on Animal Planet (Flipping Ships), McCain now performs upwards of 100 shows annually throughout the US as a solo artist, with his full band or his acoustic trio. Recently, he’s added orchestras to his repertoire, performing with symphonies in select markets where he brings his powerful songs to majestic new heights.

Those enduring love songs (and wedding must-haves) “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask For More” aren’t just for the romantic at heart; “American Idol” and “The Voice” contestants turn to Edwin’s ballads every single year to help them win over judges and fans alike (just ask last season’s AI winner, Nick Fradiani).  Even Justin Bieber has been known to belt out “I’ll Be” during his own concerts. 2018 marked the 20th year of the success of “I’ll Be,” which topped the Billboard charts in 1998 and has proven to be a timeless classic over the past two decades.

Once they began headlining in the States, Wishbone’s opening acts included Springsteen, Kiss and Aerosmith. Citing Wishbone Ash as an influence on their style, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Southern Rock outfits like Lynyrd Skynyrd and, more recently, heavyweights like Opeth and some of the guitar-based Indie/ Alternative bands, have all taken a little something from the legendary twin-guitar approach of Wishbone Ash. BOULDER STATION

Boulder Blues
Gary Hoey
Venue: The Railhead
Genre: Blues
Date: Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019 at 6 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $5 cover at the door
Artist Info: Neon Highway Blues, Gary’s latest release, carries its 11 tracks with the confidence and assuredness of a veteran, and the freshness of someone who’s still in the process of discovery and refinement — with the help of famous friends such as Eric Gales, Lance Lopez, Josh Smith and Hoey’s 17-year-old son Ian Hoey. The release of Neon Highway Blues will, of course, take Gary Hoey back on the highways and byways for plenty of touring and playing, well, the blues — and more. He can’t yet predict where the next road will take him, but Hoey is confident it will be an adventure.

With a collection of 21 albums, it’s no wonder Gary Hoey is listed as one of the top 100 guitarists of all time.  The world renowned rock guitarist’s first break came in 1987 when Ozzy Osbourne liked Hoey’s tape enough to fly him to LA for an audition and encouraged him to move to the west coast. In 1990, Hoey was signed to Reprise Records with a short-lived band called Heavy Bones, but followed up in 1993 with a solo album and Gary’s cover of “Hocus Pocus” rocketed into the Billboard’s Top 5 Rock Tracks.  He went on to score the successful Endless Summer II soundtrack for New Line Cinema and in 1995 started a trilogy of “Ho!Ho! Hoey,” a collection of instrumental Christmas classics that continues each year in his Rockin’ Holiday shows.

Whether he’s playing scorching originals or classic rock covers, his solos are thrilling and reminiscent of Clapton or Stevie Ray in their fiery youth. One thing that remains consistent is Hoey’s impassioned command of the guitar. He can attack his instrument with feral intensity and then play something very soft and achingly beautiful. This ability to mix feeling, phrasing, technique and tone is the true mark of a master guitarist.

Artist Info: Billy Idol was an early architect of the sound, style and fury of punk rock. His lip- curling sneer and fist-pumping persona vaulted him into the mainstream as one of MTV’s first megastars, making him one of the most recognizable faces in pop music, while selling out arenas everywhere he played. He has sold 40 million albums while scoring numerous platinum albums worldwide, nine top 40 singles in the U.S. and 10 in the U.K. including “Dancing With Myself,” “White Wedding,” “Rebel Yell,” “Mony Mony,” “Eyes Without A Face,” “Flesh For Fantasy” and “Cradle Of Love.”

Idol was responsible for some of punk rock’s most memorable, literate and evocative moments, and created a pioneering new sound by bringing the spirit of ’77 to the dance floor, going on to fashion an immediately identifiable musical blueprint that integrates club-land throb, rockabilly desperation and rock ’n’ roll decadence.

More than 30 years after his groundbreaking Vital Idol compilation cemented the vibrancy of the dance-rock remix genre in the second half of the 1980s, Idol’s Revitalized collection, Vital Idol: Revitalized, features 11 brand-new remixes of Idol’s most classic and enduring hits. Lending their hands to the Revitalized proceedings are electronic dance luminaries Moby, The Crystal Method and Paul Oakenfold as well as current innovators including RAC, Tropkillaz, Shiba San, Juan Maclean and CRAY.

Idol also hosts an exclusive SiriusXM show, Billy Idol’s Live Transmission, that can be heard on SiriusXM’s 1st Wave, channel 33.For all Billy Idol information, visit BillyIdol.net.

RED ROCK RESORT

Chase Rice
Venue: Sandbar Poolside Stage
Genre: Country
Date: Friday, Oct. 25, 2019 at 7 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $20 plus tax and applicable fees for standing room only and $50 plus tax and applicable fees for VIP standing near the stage
Artist Info: Rice released his ten-song album Lambs & Lions late last year with new label partner BBR Music Group/ BMG—the follow-up to 2014’s Ignite the Night, which hit No. 1 on the country charts and reached the top five of the all-genre Billboard 200—but with Lambs & Lions, he is making a fresh start. With a new label and a renewed sense of creative purpose, he is making music that draws from multiple sources and influences, but is unified by his vision, integrity, and honesty.

The 10 songs on Lambs & Lions derive from Rice’s life and experience, triumphs and disappointments, and ultimately his determination to stand up for his convictions. Produced by Chris DeStefano, Mac MacAnally and, most surprisingly, Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Cold War Kids), Lambs & Lions offers up sounds from the unsettling strings and horns on the title track to the spare piano and swelling choir of “Amen.” And if it took him walking out on his record company and finding a new home to get there, it also reflects the unconventional path that led him to make music in the first place.

PALMS CASINO RESORT

Billy Idol: Las Vegas 2019 Presented by SiriusXM
Venue: Pearl Concert Theater
Genre: Rock
Dates:  Friday, Jan. 18, 2019;
Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019;
Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019;
Friday, Jan. 25, 2019;

Ticket Prices:  $34.95, $49.95, $79.95, $89.95 and $149.95 plus applicable fees

STYX
Venue: Pearl Concert Theater
Genre: Rock
Dates:  Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at 8 p.m.
Ticket Prices:  $49.95, $69.95, $79.95, $129.95 and $199.95 plus applicable fees
Artist Info: After 14 years, STYX’s sonically sweet 16th studio album and its most ambitious, most challenging, and most rewarding album to date, THE MISSION, was finally released June 16, 2017 on the band’s label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe. Now, for the first time ever, STYX will perform the album that critics have called “a masterpiece” in its entirety for the first time as part of a two-act concert event. The second act will feature all of STYX’s classic hits.

THE MISSION debuted on various Billboard charts, including: No. 6 Top Rock Albums, No. 11 Physical Albums, No. 11 Vinyl Albums, No. 13 Current Albums, No. 14 Billboard Top Albums, No. 16 Retail, No. 17 Mass Merch/Non-Traditional, No. 29 Digital Albums, and No. 45 Billboard 200 (includes catalog and streaming). A special two-disc reissue of THE MISSION was released on July 27, 2018 via Alpha Dog 2T/UMe, which includes a CD of the original album, as well as a Blu-ray of THE MISSION mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound by singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw and producer Will Evankovich accompanied by stunning visualizations for each of the album’s 14 songs based on the album artwork. Other extras on the Blu-ray include: “The Making of The Mission Documentary” of exclusive interviews of SHAW and Evankovich, four music videos—“Gone Gone Gone” (official video), “Gone Gone Gone” (video created by NASA), “Radio Silence” (lyric video) and “Radio Silence” (live video from Syracuse, NY)—and three hi-res audio playback modes.

The six men comprising STYX have committed to rocking the Paradise together with audiences far and wide by averaging more than 100 shows a year every year since (yes) 1999, and each one of them is committed to making the next show better than the last. Founded in Chicago in 1972, STYX has the unique distinction of being the first band in rock history to have four consecutive certified multimillion-selling albums in a row: 1977’s The Grand Illusion, 1978’s Pieces of Eight, 1979’s Cornerstone, and 1981’s Paradise Theatre.

STYX draws from over four decades of barn burning chart hits, joyous singalongs, and hard-driving deep cuts. Like a symphony that builds to a satisfying crescendo, a STYX set covers a wide range of stylistic cornerstones. From the progressively sweeping splendor that is “The Grand Illusion” to the hunker-down fortitude of all that is the “Blue Collar Man,” from the majestic spiritual love for a special “Lady” to the poignant rumination on the fleeting nature of fame in “Miss America,” from an individual yearning for true connection as a “Man in the Wilderness” to a soul-deep quest to achieve what’s at the heart of one’s personal vision in “Crystal Ball,” from the regal reach-for-the-stars bravado of “Come Sail Away” to the grainy all-in gallop of that rugged “Renegade” who had it made, STYX draws on an unlimited cache of ways to immerse one’s mind and body in their signature sound.

Green Valley Ranch Resort Unveils Large-Scale Renovation

GREEN VALLEY RANCH RESORT UNVEILS LARGE-SCALE RENOVATIONS

Highlights include new hotel lobby area, renovated suites and new lobby bar

Green Valley Ranch Resort antes up for the spring season with an array of large-scale renovations. Guests checking into the AAA Four Diamond rated Henderson destination will now be able to enjoy the renovated hotel lobby area, which features a new lobby bar, Perks coffee bar and added amenities for VIP guests, along with enhanced suites and VIP accommodations – making for the perfect boutique hotel experience.

Hotel Lobby and Lobby Bar
Inside the newly designed lobby, guests are welcomed by a whole new arrival experience as the design was completely reimagined from an old-world Mediterranean style into a contemporary-influenced remodel. The all-new lobby features a separate resort entrance away from the casino floor and overlooks the property’s stunning eight-acre backyard pool area. Modern luxury has been infused into the traditional oval space, as limestone columns from Spain are covered with modern, golden glass surrounds. Inset, custom-designed, handmade wool rugs in chocolate brown with golden bronze accents cover the floor and are surrounded by brushed cream travertine floors from Peru. Contemporary furniture covered in cream leather, with rich dark chocolate wood trim, is inspired by modern European furniture designs. Accent pillows in rich gold and platinum, polished cream marble and golden bronze tables, and contemporary art and accessories complete the luxe lobby experience. Modern and sophisticated black chandeliers with polished golden metal interiors, made in the Czech Republic, strike a balance with the dark wood beams and chocolate-colored ceilings.

Centered at the back area of the lobby, and surrounded by arched wood windows, is the new Lobby Bar. Backlit, semi-precious white quartz stone covers the bar top and bar tables. Modern, comfortable cream leather stools surround the bar and communal tables. A striking custom golden bronze chandelier, made of a series of modern polished gold sticks, creates an artistic, sculptural piece overhead. Comfortable and chic seating groups surround the bar area, and a large vanilla onyx desk, leather covered furniture, and custom contemporary art in hot shades of red, tangerine and gold invite guests into a welcoming VIP environment.

Highlights of the lobby area renovations include:

Enhanced service amenities –
Guests entering the Green Valley Ranch Resort hotel lobby will enjoy an enhanced flow of service due to the addition of an enclosed VIP lounge featuring two added check-in stations and private seating. Vanilla onyx from Italy throughout the VIP lounge adds to the luxurious feel of the private room.

Beverage service, upgraded –
After check-in, guests can enjoy a libation in style at the new Lobby Bar.Directly across the lobby is the new Perks coffee bar, proudly serving Starbucks coffee and offering convenience items such as sunscreen and small toiletries. The walls at Perks were created from Italian Calcutta gold tile, while the counter is made from South African marron cohiba, creating a beautifully inviting space for guests to get their morning coffee fix.

Convenience, redefined –
For those who need to take care of business while staying at the luxury resort, a new Business Center is located just off the lobby for resort guests’ convenience. The new promenade, connecting the hotel lobby and the east tower now provides a convenient connection throughout the entire resort in a beautiful setting that allows guests to view the gorgeous outdoor pool area while walking to and from hotel and casino areas. Two new banquet rooms and a new board room recently joined the existing meeting and event space and opened just off the new promenade.

No detail has been left out of the new design:
The promenade and lobby feature travertine flooring from Peru. Each nail head at the entries to the banquet spaces was individually placed by hand to create an abstract floral pattern that closely mimics the carpet design. The promenade walls feature a Venetian plaster finish. All lights in the area are power-saving LED. In fact, a large chandelier only uses 120w total, which is comparable to a standard incandescent light bulb found in a home lamp.

Hotel Luxury Suites
Just over 50 luxury suites on property are newly renovated and have been transformed into a variety of Central California-inspired getaways ranging up to 1,500 square feet. Each offer stunning views of the Las Vegas Strip, the eight-acre Backyard pool area or the 35,000-square foot spa and salon.

Green Valley Ranch Resort also received additional amenities and enhancements including:
Borracha: Features Mexican-inspired dishes and a drink menu with cervezas, tequila, and specialty cocktails. Their seductive menu features shareable plates, inventive burritos, entrees with made-from-scratch tortillas and addictive tacos that are an explosion of flavor. The restaurant is managed by Clique Hospitality, a leading hospitality development and management company.

Bottiglia:
Another Clique Hospitality creation, Bottiglia offers sophisticated rustic Italian fare, and luscious, herb-friendly cuisine that is approachable, friendly and savory. The wine list is robust and unique, giving guests an array of choices of vino from Napa/Sonoma, Italy, France and all around the world.

Race and Sports Book:

BOTTIGLIA CUCINA & ENTECA SET TO LAUNCH BRUNCH ON AUG. 28

Green Valley Ranch Resort restaurant will offer salty, savory and unique dishes

Is it Sunday yet? As the Las Vegas summer begins to die down, the city’s hottest new restaurant Bottiglia Cucina & Enoteca (2300 Paseo Verde Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89052), located inside Green Valley Ranch Resort, will push the envelope, launching an inventive and mouthwatering brunch from 11-3pm.

Kicking off on August 28, acclaimed chef Brian Massie will put his unique stamp on the brunch scene with Italian offerings that will have guests saying grazie!

Guests can start with seasonal fruit dishes or savory dishes, such as the cinnamon bread pudding, which includes toasted hazelnuts, plump raisins and salted caramel.

The star of Bottliglia’s brunch, however, will be its main courses, which includes farm-fresh breakfasts, crisp salads and succulent entrees and pastas. Offerings include prosciutto eggs benedict, which features poached fresh eggs, creamy hollandaise and a perfectly toasted english muffin. The brunch will also feature a Bottiglia favorite, sausage & rapini, a beautiful blend of chili-spiced sausage, broccoli rage and fresh ricotta, all served on a bed of al dente rigatoni.

Other entrees include toasted paninis, pan-roasted halibut and chicken “parm,” Bottiglia’s spin on an Italian staple, a mouthwatering marriage of jidori chicken, vine-ripened san marzano tomatoes and pecorino picante.

Bottiglia’s comfortable oversized patio serves as the perfect place to spend a lazy Sunday while dining and sipping blood orange mimosas or pitchers of sangria.

The highly-anticipated brunch will feature a drink menu that is second to none, with whimsical and refreshing specialty beverages, a large selection of beer and a multitude of red, white and sparkling wines by the glass.

“Sunday is about to become my favorite day of the week,” Massie said. “We’re going to have incredible food, amazing drinks and a perfect ambiance.”
