Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires
Thursday, Sept. 18
9 p.m.; Doors at 8 p.m.

Soul and R&B singer Charles Bradley didn’t become a recording artist by taking the easy route. Born in Gainesville, Florida in 1948 and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Bradley spent a good part of his childhood living on the streets. A transformational moment came when his sister took him to see James Brown at the Apollo Theater in 1962, and Bradley was struck by the singer’s energy and stage manner. Bradley escaped Brooklyn by joining the Job Corps and then spent years moving around the country and working odd jobs, before he eventually relocated back to Brooklyn to work on his dream of becoming a musician. Bradley began performing his James Brown-inspired routines in local clubs such as Black Velvet, where he attracted a loyal following and eventually captured the attention of Gabriel Roth from Daptone Records. Roth immediately brought the singer into label sessions, releasing a single, “Take It as It Comes,” showcasing what Bradley had to offer as a vocalist. During this time he also met guitarist Thomas Brenneck, who released Bradley’s full album, No Time for Dreaming (2011), on his Daptone Records sub-imprint, Dunham Records. The singer received global acclaim for the album and toured relentlessly to support it. His follow-up, Victim of Love, was released in the spring of 2013.

As a member of world-renown DJ/producer outfit The Bangerz (formerly Fingerbangerz), Cutso always brings his eclectic taste in music to the mix. Although DJ Custo discovered his craft at the age of eight, the budding producer did not start actively making music until he hit his early years. Now, following years of experience in party-rocking, infused with his history as a battle DJ, he produces a unique product every time he hits the tables. DJ Cutso’s music is said to elicit “superior good times had by all that have witnessed it.”

DJ Ryne Pineda
Thursday, Sept. 11 & 25 from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
DJ Ryne Pineda is a singer, songwriter, music producer and DJ. Born into a creative family in Chicago, music has influenced his life for as long as he can remember. Pineda’s earliest memories are of watching his father perform at local hot spots in downtown Chicago, where Pineda volunteered his DJ skills to help out. Now living in Las Vegas, DJ Ryne Pineda has devoted his entire life to music. He can regularly be found spinning at various venues around the city, creating new tracks for local artists and working on solo projects to further advance his career.

Friday, Sept. 12 and Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Sunday, Sept. 14 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Established December 2007, PELIGROSA is a collective of DJs, producers and visual artists reenergizing the sights and sounds of Latin Americas past, present and future. They promulgate the antiquity of the culture’s deeply-rooted sounds, cherishing its beauty, shedding light on its uniqueness and making it relevant to today’s audience.

DJ Zebo
Friday, Sept. 19 and Saturday, Sept. 20 from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
It is his genuine love of music paired with incredible deck acumen that propels DJ Zebo beyond the reach of all the other DJs. Although house and jungle dominated his early turntable diet, Zebo is a polygamous lover of music, hustling to find any opportunity to play, from loft parties to weddings, corporate parties, in-store events and fashion shows. DJ Zebo is also an instructor at Columbia College, and he runs the Chicago-based Hot Dog Records with partner Marco Morales. Recently, he was listed in URB Magazine’s “Next 100” issue and voted “Best Local DJ” in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014 by the Chicago Reader Viewer Poll. Yet for all his vaunted versatility, Zebo’s initial love of jungle seems to subconsciously permeate his music at peak hour, with bombastic basslines rolling underneath familiar hooks and clever samples.

DJ Four Color Zack
Friday, Sept. 26 & Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Four Color Zack is a technically-dazzling “DJ’s DJ” and pop-party rocker at the same time, deftly cutting between arena shows, Las Vegas mega clubs and underground parties. With his winning set at the Red Bull Thre3style World Championships in 2012, the Seattle record slinger showed the entire globe what it means to be the best behind the decks.

DJ Crykit
Sunday, Sept. 28 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
As dynamic on the dance floor as she is behind the decks, Crykit is one of the most unique and refreshing entities the entertainment industry has to offer. With her intoxicating spunk, unmistakable fiery red hair and flossy sense of fashion, Crykit electrifies any crowd, leaving a lasting impression. Her passion for music and the arts drove Crykit to move from a small farm in Kenosha, Wisconsin to the big city of San Francisco. She quickly established a name for herself as a DJ in the thriving EDM scene as well as a dancer within the prominent B-Boy and B-Girl scene.  After a decade in San Francisco, Crykit moved to Los Angeles where her career continued to flourish. Now residing in Las Vegas, Crykit has studied and is versed in a variety of genres from funk, disco, house, hip-hop, EDM, rock, indie and Top 40.

The group showcases renowned Electro Swing DJs and skilled Lindy hop and tap dance performers, combining the two to make a memorable night that most audiences have never experienced before.

Jennifer Keith Quintet

Friday, Sept. 19 and Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Vocalist Jennifer Keith is an American classic and a descendent of a line of entertainers. Many have described her as “the Doris Day of today” and “a pinup doll with a voice reminiscent of Peggy Lee meets Patsy Cline.”  Keith began her professional career appearing weekly at the beautiful Madison supper club in Long Beach, California, where she learned the classic vocal stylings of the jazz and pop singers of the 40’s and 50’s. She was heavily influenced by leading vocalists of the greatest era of music including Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Keely Smith, Julie London and June Christy. In 2010, the Jennifer Keith Quintet began an engagement every Friday and Saturday night in the Observation Bar aboard the prestigious Queen Mary in Long Beach. This in turn helped “polish” her group and has given her the reputation as the “premiere classic American quintet in Los Angeles.”

Life is Beautiful Curates Music Showcase Featuring Las Vegas Bands During

In partnership with Caesars Entertainment, Life is Beautiful will curate a day of local Vegas bands in Austin during the popular music, film and interactive festival

Life is Beautiful, the successful lifestyle experience that celebrates music, food, art and learning, continues to support home-grown talent by inviting Vegas bands to participate in a special music showcase during Austin’s SXSW.  Open to the public, the showcase, hosted by Caesars Entertainment and curated by Life is Beautiful, will be at the Austin Ale House (301 W. 6th Street) on Thursday, March 13 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Each band participating in the event performed in the inaugural Life is Beautiful Festival in October of last year.

“One of the goals when creating the festival was to be able to celebrate and cultivate the careers of local talent,” said Rehan Choudhry, Life is Beautiful’ s Founder. “It was important to find a way to highlight these musicians throughout the year, not just during the festival, and we felt that this event presented a great opportunity to introduce people to the diverse music scene developing in Vegas.”

The following bands will be performing 45-minute sets:

  • American Cream American Cream seeks to resurrect the classic rock and roll sound of the sixties and seventies and combine it with the unforgettable and timeless indie rock of today.
  • Dusty Sunshine Dusty Sunshine is characterized by perfectly harmonized vocals; smooth, rolling bass lines; and emotional lyrics. Each of their ballads is fortified with acoustic guitar, and touches of violin, mandolin, banjo and auto harp that enrich Dusty Sunshine’s bluesy, folksy, soulful sound.
  • Ekoh – Ekoh combines true emotional lyrics with hard-hitting delivery, intricate production, and a high energy live show, creating a truly unique music experience. Blending hip hop with alternative rock and everything in-between, Ekoh has a sound that will appeal to almost any music listener.
  • Rusty Maples (official SXSW band) – Rusty Maples captures the spirit of the West with their well-

crafted blend of tender lyrics, classic themes and energetic Americana-inspired pop songs.

  • Sabriel – Sabriel is known for her sweet, soulful voice and prolific lyrics. She collaborated with songwriting partners Blue Sheffer and Pao Gonzalez and producer Thaddeus Corea (son of jazz legend Chick Corea) to create her eponymous debut EP released in 2013.
