Collaboration to energize the Thomas & Mack Center Courtside Club and student-athlete excellence

Known globally for supporting championship performance with elite athletes, Red Bull has partnered with UNLV Athletics to energize the premium experience at the Thomas & Mack Center during Runnin’ Rebel games.

Set to open when the UNLV men’s basketball team takes the floor in November, the innovative Courtside Club will provide unprecedented VIP services to members of UNLV’s Loyalty Circle – the athletics department’s prestigious donor society.

The Courtside Club will feature food, beverage and high-end hospitality all game long, just steps away from Tarkanian Court. Support from Red Bull will support the design and development of the club, which is the first of its kind for Runnin’ Rebel Basketball.

“We are proud to partner with UNLV Athletics to energize the premium experience within the Thomas & Mack Center,” said Red Bull Las Vegas Regional Manager Lou D’Andrea, “It’s equally exciting to be part of a new championship era for Runnin’ Rebel Basketball with Coach Otzelberger. The Courtside Club builds on the athletics department’s commitment to expanding premium services to those providing essential scholarship and strategic support through the Loyalty Circle program.

RECAP: Hakkasan Group Hosts Benefit Concert With Headlining Artists Céline Dion, Tiësto, Zedd, Kaskade, Steve Aoki, and Many More- Tuesday, Nov. 7

 

Last night (Tuesday, Nov. 7) Hakkasan Group hosted an incredible Benefit Concert at OMNIA Nightclub inside Caesars Palace. In response to the tragic events that took place on October 1 at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, the Las Vegas-based hospitality company brought locals, partygoers, and artists together for an eventful evening to raise funds for those affected.

The nightspot opened its doors at 9:30 p.m. and welcomed some of the industry’s top turntable artists including Tiësto, Zedd, Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Party Favor, Cash Cash, Nghtmre, and more in the main room, while renowned SKAM Artists Lil Jon, FAED, Turbulence, Crooked, NEVA and OB One took over Heart of OMNIA as Bojo from Vegas’ Q 100.5, kept the energy going throughout the night. Adding to the excitement, UFC’s official Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer participated throughout the night as he helped hype up the packed room and welcomed artists to the stage.

As the night went on, the nightspot was treated to an unbelievable surprise as legendary singer, and Vegas icon, Céline Dion joined DJ Steve Aoki on stage. The energy in the room reached an all-time high as she performed a special rendition of her classic song “My Heart Will Go On” alongside the popular DJ. The highly-acclaimed vocalist had the entire room in awe and singing along as she provided guests with an unforgettable and intimate performance experience. Following the incredible rendition, Aoki joined Dion atop of the DJ booth as they both showed off some of their best dance moves, while the packed nightspot collectively basked in the amazing moment.

The Benefit Concert went on into the early hours of the morning as the artists played back-to-back sets, making for a tremendously remarkable affair. Life is Beautiful Festival just announced night shows with several of the festival’s musical talent giving fans the chance to keep the music going long after the last headliner takes the stage. Fitz & The Tantrums, Echosmith, Mayer Hawthorne and Sabriel all will take over the Fremont Country Club after performing to thousands at the festival, to play underground sets at the intimate venue. The Fremont Country Club will host these separately ticketed shows Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25.

The Eiffel Tower Experience at Paris Las Vegas paid tribute to the 125th anniversary of the original Eiffel Tower in Paris, France yesterday with an incredible stunt that astounded passersby on the Las Vegas Strip. The highly-visited Las Vegas attraction kicked off festivities in heart-pumping fashion when two Red Bull BASE jumpers leaped from the top of the 541-foot tower, landing safely in the Paris Las Vegas front drive next to the replica Arc de Triomphe.

A high-energy block party immediately followed, igniting the evening with carnival-style food, drinks and lively entertainment including stilt walkers, mimes and caricature and balloon artists.

“What better way to celebrate this monumental event than with a monumental party on the Strip,” said Regional President David Hoenemeyer as he toasted to the success of the talented Red Bull team. “These guys really know how to capture attention, and that’s exactly what they did here tonight.”

While the original Eiffel Tower was constructed on March 31, 1889, the half-scale replica at Paris Las Vegas opened in 1999, and has since welcomed more than 10 million visitors. In celebration of the Parisian landmark’s historic milestone, the Eiffel Tower Experience will host a series of ongoing events throughout the year. The newest addition is “Locks on the Bridge,” Las Vegas’ take on the Parisian tradition that enables couples to declare their love by securing a personalized lock to the iconic bridge next to the Eiffel Tower Experience.

Life is Beautiful Festival announced today the official schedule and detailed map for the first-ever music, food, art and learning festival in Downtown Las Vegas.  The two-day festival, which will take place Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th, 2013, expects to attract tens of thousands of people to Downtown Las Vegas.

Spanning more than 15 city blocks across Downtown Las Vegas, the Life is Beautiful Festival footprint highlights include five musical stages; two chef demonstration stages; The Culinary Village, themed after a Moroccan Bazaar; The Alchemy Gardens, dedicated to craft cocktails; Art Odyssey, a former motel transformed into a pop-up gallery space; Over 12 murals created by international street artists.

Non-profit Partners Activate “Charity Lane” at Life is Beautiful Festival 

Six charity partners to set up immersive goodwill experience, Oct. 26 & 27

 

On October 26 and 27, 2013, a portion of the Life is Beautiful Festival grounds will transform into a beacon of goodwill, with the launch of Charity Lane. Six worthy causes – charity: water, Three Square Food Bank, Communities In Schools of Nevada, To Write Love On Her Arms, Love Hope Strength and Mama Hope (Stop the Pity), – will execute creative and engaging activations for festival-goers who want to give back. Additionally, the festival will fundraise for said charities and make history as the first event of its kind to employ a location-based mobile donation site via Modern Giver.

As the festival’s exclusive donation medium, Modern Giver will offer fast, remote, and instant contributions to participating nonprofits (no cash, app or download needed).  To contribute, individuals can simply visit ModernGiver.com on their smartphone, choose one of the Life is Beautiful partner charities, and donate using their credit or debit card. Life is Beautiful is the first ever festival to leverage location-based mobile donations via Modern Giver to benefit partnering charities.

Within the festival itself, attendees can interact with the six chosen nonprofits in a portion of the grounds, called Charity Lane. Charity Lane will offer educational and interactive demonstrations from participating charities with far-reaching causes, benefitting local, national and international communities:

Three Square Food Bank: Established in 2007, Three Square Food Bank helps offer wholesome, nutritious food to nearly 100,000 Southern Nevadans each month. Three Square will be hosting a “backpack packing” session where festival goers can fill a bag full of food. The bags will support Three Square’s “BackPack for Kids” program which assists more than 275 schools with up to 5,000 children receiving supplemental weekend meals each week.

Communities in Schools of Nevada: Communities In Schools of Nevada supports nearly 33,000 students at 43 schools throughout the state, surrounding low-income, high-risk students with a community of support and the resources they need to succeed. They will be showcasing thought provoking imagery and items, including worn and tattered shoes, shining a light on the struggles underprivileged Nevadan school children face every day.

To Write Love On Her Arms: To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and help for those struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA invite attendees to share their biggest fears and greatest dreams via provided cards. The cards are posted all over the booth for everyone to see.

Love Hope Strength:  Love Hope Strength turns concerts into lifesaving events, through their GET ON THE LIST campaign, in which they register marrow donors from concerts around the world. Love Hope Strength will be activating their now famous GET ON THE LIST “Marrow Drive” at Life is Beautiful.  Festival attendees can register to be marrow donors via a simple free cheek swab and registration form that may help save the life of someone around the globe with cancer.

Mama Hope (Stop The Pity): Stop The Pity is a movement that tells a new story about poverty, focusing on potential, not pity. Mama Hope will be giving life to their Stop The Pity campaign by setting up a video booth and asking people “How do you make life beautiful?”. The answers will be compiled and shared with the African villages the Stop The Pity movement supports.

The two-day festival will highlight several exciting emerging artists performing alongside renowned headliners.

Life is Beautiful and Red Bull Sound Select collaborated to curate the Tour Bus stage lineup at the festival, selecting five artists from across the country already on the Sound Select platform to earn the opportunity to play for the crowds. In addition, Life is Beautiful was given the opportunity to be the first Las Vegas curator on the platform, and selected the first five Las Vegas artists to not only play the festival, but also to join Red Bull Sound Select.

Life is Beautiful (L.I.B.) unveils its art programming for the inaugural festival taking place Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27, 2013. Designed to be seamlessly programmed with the music, food and learning festival elements, L.I.B’s art presentations will center around live performance, and several mediums of visual art with the festival grounds as its canvas.

“Our goal is to create a live urban gallery that is essentially woven into our festival footprint. We want to expose our festival-goers to many types of dynamic artistic mediums,” stated festival co-founder Rehan Choudhry. “We are fortunate that Las Vegas is home to many of the world’s greatest performance artists, and inspires much of the world’s great visual art. We are infusing those stunning influences into our festival experience.”

The festival’s art program is comprised of three separate initiatives, bringing artists out of their traditional studios, galleries or theaters and into the streets of Downtown Las Vegas. With an up-close-and-personal feel, L.I.B.’s art program is meant to surround guests with both elusive and interactive activations.

RISE ABOVE: A Street Art Program
The urban surroundings of the Life is Beautiful venue provide a perfect backdrop for what will be an  eclectic and permanent street art program that will redefine the look of Downtown Las Vegas for years to come. Curated by Charlotte Dutoit, RISE ABOVE will turn Downtown Las Vegas into an art-inspired playground showcasing works by some of the biggest names in international street art. Contributing artists include: Vhils (Portugal), D*Face (UK), Alexis Diaz (AKA La Pandilla from Puerto Rico), Interesni Kazki (Ukrane), Zio Ziegler (San Francisco), Ana Maria (Houston) and Aware (Las Vegas). Creation of these original pieces, which include murals, stencils by The Stencil Network (NYC) and giant show posters by Bicicleta Sem Freio (Brazil), will begin the week prior to the festival and be completed live on site.

The Odyssey: A Visual Art Experience
A first-class visual art program, curated by Patrick Duffy, former president of the Las Vegas Art Museum and current executive board member for Smith Center for the Performing Arts, will also be presented at L.I.B. His program, entitled The Odyssey, is a visual exploration of the art that inspires creativity in all of us, no matter age, education or upbringing. Presented through staged exhibits at varying venues, The Odyssey will show work from the Opportunity Village Art and Enrichment Program, Eric Tillinghast, William T. Wiley, Wendy Kveck, Catherine Borg, Yasmina and Javier Sanchez, Adam Morey, and Jaime Sholnick.

At the helm of the fine art programming is a multi-media presentation of “13 Most Beautiful…Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests” featuring Dean and Britta. A project commissioned by the Andy Warhol Museum and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, “13 Most Beautiful” is a live multimedia performance featuring large scale video projection of Warhol’s Screen Tests (4-minute silent film portraits of visitors to his studio), set to the music of Dean and Britta and their band, who perform live on stage while the films are projected above.

“For many years ‘art’ has been synonymous with Downtown Las Vegas,” says L.I.B. partner and First Friday managing partner Joey Vanas. “What Life is Beautiful intends to do during our festival weekend and beyond is bring national and international attention to our local artists and further the growth of Downtown Las Vegas as a serious art community.”

Theatrical Performances
Festival attendees will see why Las Vegas is the Entertainment Capital of the World through performances from renowned Strip productions that will vacate their theaters and permeate the streets of Downtown. Featured acts include six shows by Cirque du Soliel, “Absinthe”, Human Nature, “Jabbawockeez”, “Million Dollar Quartet”, Recycled Percussion and “Rock of Ages”. Advances to Red Bull BC One National Final in Houston on August 17th

Sin City was set afire last night as the best b-boys from the West Coast went head to head in a fierce battle during the Red Bull BC One Cypher under the lighted canopy at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. The open-air location allowed more than 2,000 spectators to be treated to a night of intense battles, and ultimately, the Red Bull BC One judges Neguin (Red Bull BC One All Star), Teknyc (Skill Methodz Crew) and Floor Rock (Rock Skittles) crowned Lil Rock as the Las Vegas regional champion.

After besting 15 other prominent West Coast b-boys in Las Vegas, Lil Rock will now advance to compete in the U.S. National Finals in Houston on August 17th and battle his way to the top for the chance to represent America in the Red Bull BC One World Championship event in Seoul, South Korea this November. Hailing from Orange County, Calif., Lil Rock (Killafornia Crew) boasts accomplishments including five championship titles from Freestyle Session and a pro-am championship title. Lil Rock wowed the audience and judges throughout the night with his original and explosive signature moves including the head lotus wave and Aladdin freeze.

“I’m humbled by the title the judges have given me,” said Lil Rock. “I honestly did not expect to win. I went into this competition with hard training and a strong focus on being the best that I can. I am looking forward to being a part of the Red Bull BC One program and continue to introduce the b-boy culture to the world.”

“Lil Rock is definitely the right winner for this cypher,” said Teknyc, one of three judges. “Seeing what he accomplished today was inspiring for all of us. He brought his personality, musicality, originality and execution. He was calm, collected and phased the components with respect. He definitely represents what this dance culture is about and pushes the envelope to the next level. I can’t wait to see him in Houston and hopefully proceed to the World Final.”

“This event was definitely history in the making. As a Vegas native, I want to work towards building our city to become the b-boy capital. All in all, Red Bull was able to make our dream into a reality,” said Ronnie, a Red Bull BC One world champion (2007) and All Star.

Now in its 10th year, Red Bull BC One has earned the reputation as a showcase for the world’s best b-boys. While many competitions focus on crew battles, Red Bull BC One’s one-on-one, single elimination battle format focuses on talents and strength of the individual dancer. Judges score the b-boys on their battle strategy, power moves, dance foundation, fresh routine, and overall style. More than 60 cyphers will be held around the world, with 16 b-boys advancing to Seoul, making this a true world championship.

CARNEVALE is inspired by the numerous festivals that grace the small villages and towns of Italy throughout summer. The grandest of them all –Venice’s CARNEVALE – was born in 1162, and is heralded as one of Europe’s greatest celebrations of art, food and culture. In that tradition, wonder and revelry will surround guests at The Venetian and The Palazzo resorts, with activities that center around entertainment, art, fashion, games, sports, music and wine. From visual spectacles to themed characters and unexpected surprises around every corner, guests will be wrapped up in the pageantry that is CARNEVALE .

The best b-boys from the West will throw down in Las Vegas in a fierce battle at the Red Bull BC One Cypher. Hosted by CROS1 at the Fremont Street Experience, this epic event will be judged by acclaimed dancers Neguin (Red Bull BC One All Star), Teknyc (Skill Methodz Crew) and Floor Rock (Rock Skittles).

The winner of the Las Vegas Cypher will advance to the Red Bull BC One National Final in Houston on August 17, 2013. The National Champion will be flown to Seoul, South Korea to compete against the best of the best in the World Final this November.

Since its inception in 2004, Red Bull BC One has become the premier competition in the world of b-boying, consistently attracting the best individual breakers in the world. Originally designed as an “invitation-only” event, the series has now opened to give any b-boy the chance to compete through a multi-layered global qualification phase.

International DJ Battle Series to Hold a Sub-Qualifier at LAVO Nightclub

WHAT:  Starting in January 2013, top DJs from across the world will begin to battle for the coveted title of Red Bull Thre3style National Champion – a title that comes with bragging rights; cash prizes; a stamp of approval from some of the best DJs in the world including DJ Jazzy Jeff, Z-Trip and A-Trak; and a ticket to compete in the Red Bull Thre3style World Finals in December.

Red Bull Thre3Style is an innovative concept that gives highly skilled DJs a global platform to showcase their skills, battle and gain notoriety by rockin’ the dance floor.  Unlike other DJ battles that are based on solely technical aspects, Red Bull Thre3style has a creative and original format that seeks to find the DJ that has best perfected the true art of rockin’ the party.  Competing DJs are given 15 minutes and the challenge to play three different genres of music while keeping the crowd rockin’ on the dance floor. A panel of music industry judges will select the winners based on track selection, creativity, mixing skills, stage presence and crowd reaction. Whoever is named best on the decks gets bragging rights, a prize purse and advances to the next step on the road to the world finals. World-renowned Entertainment Production Teamed with Red Bull to Host Unforgettable Launch for New Show

Blue Man Group, the international entertainment phenomenon, partnered with Red Bull to mark the launch of its latest awe-inspiring show at its new home Monte Carlo Resort and Casino earlier this morning. The Blue Men, trained by the Red Bull Air Force, completed a sensational leap from 7,000-feet above the property, landing in front of their new home on Rue De Monte Carlo to celebrate opening day of the new production.

“Creating thrilling, exploratory and thought-provoking moments that make an impact on people is what Blue Man Group strives for every day,” said Phil Stanton, Blue Man Group Founder. “We are excited to share our first new show in 20 years with Las Vegas. We knew we needed a big moment to mark this occasion and skydiving into our new home seemed like the perfect fit.”

Onlookers from The Strip witnessed the spectacular sight and upon landing, Blue Man Group was greeted by Founders Chris Wink and Phil Stanton, Monte Carlo General Manager Patrick Miller, and Las Vegas icon and Chair of the LVCVA’s Host Committee Oscar Goodman. Following the dramatic stunt, Blue Man Group headed inside to Blue Man Theater to celebrate the move to its new home on the Las Vegas Strip. Blue Man Group performed with their signature paint drums and flipped a switch, illuminating the theater entrance symbolizing the new beginning.

Guests will enjoy the dramatic changes to Blue Man Group’s first new show in 20 years. Each day, 45 minutes prior to the first show, the energy kicks off with a dazzling procession of musical joy and luminescence, which can best be described as an energetic percussive parade designed by a mad scientist. The surging, intoxicating beat fills the casino as Blue Man Group launches a Percussipede, a musical centipede of percussion instruments, musicians, robots and puppets co-created with world-renowned 3-D designer Michael Curry. The mega-enhanced experience continues inside Blue Man Theater and presents a thrilling, energy-infused combination of the signature pieces Blue Man Group is known for while introducing playful personalities and dynamic new instruments. The incredible journey includes the introduction of Kukas, humorous assembly-line robots, a sassy humanoid Showbot, as well as an exploration of the human brain through the fascinating Brain Drum. The audience will also experience the joy of a set of giant Smoke Drums that emit mystical, ethereal smoke rings out into the world and a Neuronulum, a newly crafted pipe-instrument worn by the Blue Men which provides musical and visual pulses of energy across a theater-wide neural landscape.
