Bruno Mars is a multitalented singer, songwriter, producer and musician who feels most at home when he’s performing. Born to a musical family in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was practically raised on the stage. After working a string of behind-the-scenes jobs – including writing songs for Brandy, singing backup for the Sugababes and impersonating Elvis – Bruno Mars got his name out in 2009 when he co-wrote Flo Rida’s hit song “Right Round.” One year later, he collaborated with rapper B.o.B on “Nothin’ on You,” and co-wrote Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire,” both of which became Top 10 hits. This momentum allowed Mars to launch a solo career, and he became first male vocalist in two decades to crack the Top Ten with his first four singles. His full length debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, appeared in 2010 and quickly produced a number one single with “Just the Way You Are.” At the end of 2012, Mars released Unorthodox Jukebox that featured the lead-off single “Locked Out of Heaven” and included production from Mark Ronson, Diplo and others. Mars is an 18-time Grammy Award nominee and Grammy winner who has also performed one of the world’s most prestigious gigs, the halftime show for Super Bowl XLVIII in February 2014. This year, Mars fronted Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk,” a song he co-wrote that was among the most popular singles of the year. Although he’s incredibly proud of the recordings, Mars feels the best way to experience the sound is to see him perform live with his band, The Hooligans.

Over the next couple of the years, The Cure played at various festivals around the world until taking a break in 2008. Bryan is also nominated as Artist of the Year, his second nomination in that category. This is Bryan’s second appearance on the AMA stage; he first performed in 2013, singing his hit single “That’s My Kind of Night.” Fairchild will take the AMA stage without her band mates for the first time but Little Big Town is nominated for their first American Music Award this year in the category Favorite Duo or Group – Country.

Charlie Puth is nominated for his first American Music Award for Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile. This will be Puth’s first performance at the American Music Awards. Meghan Trainor is a four-time American Music Award nominee and first-time performer. This year Trainor is nominated in the categories of Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock and Favorite Artist – Adult Contemporary.

Luke Bryan

Luke Bryan – Since the debut of his first album in 2007, Luke Bryan has placed 14 singles at #1 and sold nearly 8 million albums with 30 million digital tracks from his five studio albums. He has been named Entertainer of the Year by both the Academy of Country Music (twice) and the Country Music Association. Bryan’s recent album Kill The Lights recently debuted at #1 on both the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts. This is Bryan’s third consecutive album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Kill The Lights is the third-largest-selling album debut in 2015 at the time of its release, after R&B / hip hop releases from Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Kill The Lights is also the highest country album debut in the last two years, since Bryan’s Crash My Party debuted at #1 in August 2013.

Karen Fairchild

Karen Fairchild (Little Big Town) – GRAMMY Award-winning country super group Little Big Town, comprised of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook, is one of country music’s most iconic foursomes. The multi-Platinum-selling band is currently the reigning ACM and CMA (3x) Vocal Group of the Year, and they are the most recent inductees into the famed Grand Ole Opry. Little Big Town is responsible for some of the format’s biggest hits including “Day Drinking,” “Pontoon,” “Little White Church,” “Boondocks” and their most recent record-breaking smash, “Girl Crush.” Little Big Town is now out on the PAIN KILLER TOUR in support of their latest Capitol Nashville release, Pain Killer. For more information, visit www.LittleBigTown.com.

Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth – Charlie Puth has fast become a worldwide star thanks to the international smash hit, “See You Again,” by Wiz Khalifa (Feat. Charlie Puth). The 4x RIAA platinum certified track, which was co-written and co-produced by Puth, is featured on Atlantic Records’ FURIOUS 7: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK. It has entered the history books as one of the decade’s biggest singles, topped Billboard’s “Hot 100” for a stunning 12 weeks, hit No. 1 on the iTunes Store’s “Top Songs” chart in a remarkable 101 countries, and shattered Spotify records by becoming the most streamed track ever in a single day (with 3.18 million global streams on April 8th alone) and in a single week (a stunning 21.9 million worldwide streams). Puth is also seeing huge success with his hit single “Marvin Gaye” feat. Meghan Trainor, which is featured on his upcoming debut album NINE TRACK MIND along with current single “One Call Away.” As if that weren’t enough, Puth recently teamed up with Lil Wayne for “Nothing But Trouble,” the new single from Big Beat Records’ hugely anticipated soundtrack for 808, the landmark documentary chronicling the incredible story of the influential Roland TR-808 drum machine. A Berklee College of Music graduate, Puth has found himself among modern pop’s most in-demand co-writers and producers – recent credits include two tracks on Jason Derulo’s acclaimed new album Everything Is 4, the R&B chart-topping single “Slow Motion” by Atlantic’s own Trey Songz, and further collaborations not yet announced.

meghan

Meghan Trainor – The Nantucket-born pop singer and songwriter earned superstar status in 2014 the old-fashioned way—with infectious, inimitable, and inescapable music. Her debut single “All About That Bass” went 9-times RIAA platinum, eventually received two Grammy® Award nominations, won Billboard Music Awards for “Top Hot 100 Song” and “Top Digital Song,” held #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, and received over 1 billion YouTube/VEVO views in less than a year. However, she didn’t stop there. Her full-length debut, TITLE [Epic Records] crashed the Billboard Top 200 at #1 in early 2015 and broke records as the “biggest-selling debut for a female artist’s first full-length album in more than five years” and “the biggest-selling debut for a solo artist’s first full-length in more than three years.” The critically acclaimed album also produced the double platinum hits “Lips Are Movin” and “Dear Future Husband” and platinum “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” featuring John Legend.  Meghan sold out every date of her first national tour and went on to pack venues during Summer 2015’s THE MTRAIN TOUR. However, this star has only just started to shine, and you’ll be hearing more about her soon.

To help fans express their passion and excitement for the show, the American Music Awards and Twitter are launching custom Twitter emojis for all performers.  All performers will have featured Twitter emojis to celebrate their appearances as they are announced. Born to a musical family in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was practically raised on the stage. After working a string of behind-the-scenes jobs – including writing songs for Brandy, singing backup for the Sugababes and impersonating Elvis – songwriter/producer Bruno Mars got his name out in 2009 when he co-wrote Flo Rida’s hit song “Right Round.” One year later, he collaborated with rapper B.o.B on “Nothin’ on You,” and co-wrote Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire,” both of which became Top Ten hits.

Hailing from a small town in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia, 5 Seconds of Summer blazed onto the scene and the charts, with their self-titled debut album entering the Billboard 200 at No. 1, selling 260,000 units in the U.S. in its first week of release, marking the biggest debut for a new act in 2014. It topped the iTunes charts in a total of 76 countries.  Their sophomore album, Sounds Good Feels Good, will be released on October 23 via Hi or Hey Records/Capitol Records. 5 Seconds of Summer took home the trophy for New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s at the “2014 American Music Awards.”

Multi-platinum singer and actress Selena Gomez redefines her role as a pop artist on her new album Revival which recently debuted at #1 on Billboard’s album chart.  Powerful and passionately charged, thrilling and sophisticated, Revival has also earned Gomez a host of rave reviews. Entertainment Weekly called it “one of fall’s sleekest albums” and “as fresh and forward-thinking as the music of indie darlings Tove Lo and FKA Twigs,” while Rolling Stone raved “this is the sound of a newly empowered pop artist growing into her strengths like never before.” USA Today noted that “Gomez is bound to get at least a few skeptics off of Instagram and onto the dance floor” with her “cool, groovy and electro-savvy” album. “Gomez arrives with a pop vengeance throughout the record, as ear-sucking hooks and telling lyrics lay the groundwork for ’80s-infused dance riffs and head-rushing genre-hopping that saturates all 14 tracks,” raved Complex. The first single from Revival, “Good For You” featuring A$AP Rock is Gomez’s biggest hit to date.  It is her fastest-ever platinum seller and spent three consecutive weeks at #1 at Top 40 radio.  Revival  marks the latest chapter in a career that’s brought Gomez from starring on television at age 15 to taking a central role in Harmony Korine’s 2012 cult classic “Spring Breakers” — all while selling more than 22 million singles worldwide. Gomez announced that she will embark on her worldwide “Revival Tour” in 2016. The first leg will find Gomez traveling to 41 cities across the United States and Canada. The tour kicks off in Las Vegas on May 6th at Mandalay Bay and hits major markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and more.

 Carrie Underwood 7
Carrie Underwood emerged from the promise of her 2005 American Idol win to become a true multi-format, multi-media superstar, spanning achievements in music, television and film.  A seven-time GRAMMY® Award winner, she has amassed nearly 100 major honors, sold 58 million records worldwide, and recorded 21 #1 singles, 11 of which she co-wrote.  The first female artist to be twice named the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year, Underwood was recognized as Pollstar’s top female country touring artist for her headlining tours in 2008, 2010, and 2012.  Her four studio albums, Some HeartsCarnival RidePlay On, and Blown Away – each certified multi-Platinum or Platinum, and each an American Music Awards winner as Country Album of the Year – tallied 38 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with songs that have been streamed more than 1.5 billion times worldwide.  In 2013, she starred as Maria von Trapp in NBC’s three-hour holiday blockbuster, the Emmy®-winning The Sound of Music Live!, whose airings attracted 44 million viewers.  In late 2014, the Grand Ole Opry member released her first hits collection, Greatest Hits: Decade #1.  Celebrating her first 10 years of music, the 25 songs included two new hits co-written by Underwood: the Platinum-certified, GRAMMY-winning “Something in the Water,” as well as the #1 smash “Little Toy Guns.”  In September of 2015, she began her third season as the voice of primetime television’s #1 program, Sunday Night Football, and on November 4, she’ll return for an eighth consecutive year as co-host of the CMA Awards.  Underwood is at radio now with her record-breaking single “Smoke Break,” the first single released from her fifth studio album, Storyteller, out worldwide on October 23, 2015.

To help fans express their passion and excitement for the show, the American Music Awards and Twitter are launching custom Twitter emojis for all performers, starting with 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez and Carrie Underwood. All performers will have featured Twitter emojis to celebrate their appearances as they are announced. Viewers will be able to activate the Twitter emojis by Tweeting any of following hashtags from today through the end of the show on November 22:

Madame Tussauds Debuts World’s 1st Bruno Mars Wax Figure in Las Vegas

MADAME

MADAME TUSSAUDS UNVEILS WORLD’S FIRST BRUNO MARS
WAX FIGURE IN LAS VEGAS

International pop superstar Bruno Mars has been immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas to celebrate his 30th birthday. The “Uptown Funk” star will be on display starting this Thursday, Oct. 8 inside the “Music Room,” which is home to fellow music maestros ranging from Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj to Stevie Wonder.

Bruno Mars is an 18-time Grammy Award nominee and multi-Grammy winner. At the top of 2014, Mars made NFL history with the most watched Super Bowl Halftime Show that amassed a record breaking 115.3 million viewers, all while being the youngest artist ever to serve as the sole NFL Super Bowl Halftime headliner. The critically-acclaimed singer, songwriter, producer and musician has sold more than 130 million singles worldwide and was named Billboard’s 2013 “Artist of the Year.” His most recent album, “Unorthodox Jukebox” and his debut album “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” have a combined certification total of 94x Platinum worldwide. According to Billboard, Mars scored his first five “Hot 100” No. 1s faster than any male since Elvis Presley.  Mars most recently teamed up with Mark Ronson on the smash hit “Uptown Funk.” The international hit single is the longest-leading Billboard Hot 100 of the 2010s and is the 10th single in the Hot 100’s 57-year history to spend at least 14 weeks at Number 1.

Looking at home in front of a keyboard, Mars’ figure was created by Madame Tussauds’ studio team taking 20 dedicated artists nearly six months to complete. The figure was first sculpted in clay by hand then covered in a plaster cast. Once the clay was removed from the cast, the wax was poured in and allowed to cool. Nearly six weeks were spent meticulously inserting each hair by hand which is customary for Madame Tussauds’ studio team. Finally, the figure was fitted with acrylic eyes and teeth, while countless layers of tinted paint were applied to build up skin tones – all to achieve the astonishingly lifelike figure styled to pay homage to Mars’ retro showmanship. Mars personally donated the royal blue jacket that his figure wears.

To purchase tickets to be the first to see Mars and Madame Tussauds’ collection of more than 100 figures, go to www.MadameTussauds.com/LasVegas.

Mercedes-Benz Sponsors Rock in Rio USA

Mercedes-Benz Sponsors Rock in Rio USA

Rock in Rio announced today sponsorship agreement with Mercedes-Benz to serve as official sponsor for the upcoming Rock in Rio USA music festival taking place May 8-9 and May 15-16 in Las Vegas. The agreement includes Mercedes-Benz having naming rights of the Sunset Stage that will be named Mercedes-Benz Evolution Stage.

The Rock in Rio partnership represents a natural build on the luxury brand’s involvement in producing consumer-facing music events, which began with last year’s groundbreaking multi-city Mercedes-Benz Evolution Tour. This year, Mercedes-Benz will further present consumers with experiences that showcase the evolution of the brand and tap into key consumer passion points.

“We are excited to continue our support of both up-and-coming and established talent in the music industry through the sponsorship of Rock in Rio,” said Drew Slaven, Vice President of Marketing at Mercedes-Benz USA. “Rock in Rio prides itself in delivering an unparalleled consumer experience, while appealing to a wide and diverse demographic. These key attributes are important as we continue to evolve and enhance the Mercedes-Benz music platform in the US.”

“We’re very excited to have such a premium brand as Mercedes-Benz sponsoring Rock in Rio. Over the past 30 years we’ve developed a very successful model that delivers a strong communication platform for brands,” states Roberto Medina, President and Founder of Rock in Rio. “What better way to kick-off the first US edition of Rock in Rio than to align with a top luxury brand such as Mercedes-Benz.”

Rock in Rio: 30 years of a sponsor-based event
Since its inception, Rock in Rio has embraced sponsors and brands as part of its DNA: in 1985, the first edition of the festival was sponsored by the biggest beer brand in Brazil with an investment of 25 million dollars and gathered 1.3 million people over 10 days of festival.  Nowadays, the festival has expanded to 3 countries and was attended by more than 7.4 million people. In 2013, the Brazilian edition reached 54 million dollars in sponsorships and for the September 2015 edition Rock in Rio will also gather the same value.

For the first edition in the US, Rock in Rio USA has already reached the 14 million dollars mark, and is partnering with brands like Red Bull, Bacardi, Moet Hennessy, Las Vegas Events, among others. The festival also has returning brands from previous events in Brazil and Portugal: Sky Brazil, Hotel Urbano and EDP Renewables.

The legendary music festival first edition in the US is a partnership between the MGM Resorts International, Yucaipa Gropu and Cirque du Soleil. With a capacity of 85,000 people per day, the more than 40-acre venue will include a ferris wheel and a 64-foot-high zip line. The venue also includes a VIP area that can accommodate up to 4,000 people featuring air conditioning, an all-inclusive buffet and open bar (certain premium liquors will be available for additional purchase) and a unique view of The City of Rock. Additionally, The City of Rock will feature three Rock Streets – themed streets welcoming attendees to experience an entirely new and exciting kind of music festival and to enjoy the eclectic cultures of the U.S., the UK and Brazil.

Rock in Rio USA will welcome some of the biggest names in music on its Main Stage including Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Sam Smith, Metallica, Linkin Park, No Doubt, Ed Sheeran, Big Sean, Maná and Echosmith among others. On the Mercedes-Benz Evolution Stage the lineup includes Foster the People, Jessie J, John Legend, Deftones, Charli XcX, Joss Stone and Bleachers.
