Styx and REO Speedwagon *just added*
Saturday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m.
Tickets start at $39.50
On sale Saturday, June 18 at noon
Legendary rockers Styx and REO Speedwagon hit the road together for only three shows in 2011 including The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, Sept. 24.

Styx’s Tommy Shaw, James “JY” Young, Lawrence Gowan, Todd Sucherman and Ricky Phillips (along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo) have performed more live since 1999 than all of the previous years of the band’s existence combined. Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early 1970s, Styx would eventually transform into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late1970s and early 1980s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads.

Styx is known for hit singles and classic rock radio standards “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man,” “Fooling Yourself” and “Too Much Time on My Hands.” For more info visit http://www.styxworld.com/

REO Speedwagon, originally formed in Champaign, Ill., is still led today by keyboardist Neal Doughty (founding member since 1967), Kevin Cronin (who has fronted the band since 1972 on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards), and bassist Bruce Hall (since 1977), along with lead guitarist Dave Amato (since 1989) and drummer Bryan Hitt (since 1990). Together, the band continues to define the essence of two enduring genres, arena rock during performance side, and classic with audio and visual.

REO Speedwagon is known for hits “Ridin’ The Storm Out,” “Roll With The Changes,” “Keep On Loving You,” “Take It On The Run,” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling.” For more info visit www.speedwagon.com

Kid Cudi Friday, June 24 at 9 p.m.
(Special guest Chip Tha Ripper)
Tickets start at $39.50
On sale now
Hip Hop sensation Kid Cudi’s The Cud Life Tour hits The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, June 24 with special guest Chip Tha Ripper.

Cudi’s first hit “Day ‘N’ Nite” was inspired by the passing of his uncle and changed his life forever. Recorded in a pitch-black room, Cudi put his heart into the gloomy pop-hit. After posting it on his MySpace, the song started racking up hits and eventually caught the attention of A-Trak, Kanye West’s former tour DJ. A-Trak fell in love with song, and Cudi ended up signing a single deal on the DJ’s Fool’s Gold label. A critically-acclaimed mixtape, A KiD Named CuDi was the MC’s first full body of work.

The game truly changed when A-Trak played “Day N Nite” at Kanye West’s “Stronger” premiere party. West loved the song and saw enough potential in Cudi that he flew him out to Hawaii to do reference hooks for Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3. Soon, West and Cudi started work on Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak album. Cudi’s sing-songy, eclectic style was the perfect match for 808s & Heartbreak and the up-and-comer ended up writing four songs. With West behind him and a Billboard hit with “Day ‘N’ Nite,” Cudi inked a deal with Kanye’s G.O.O.D music label. Soon after, he parlayed that into a major deal with Universal Motown.

On September 15, 2009, Kid Cudi released his debut album Man On The Moon: The End Of Day, a genre-bending concept album that took people through Scott Mescudi’s, aka Kid Cudi, dreams, nightmares, and unique views of the world. Featuring production from Emile, Plain Pat, RATATAT, MGMT and Kanye West, the album sold 104,419 copies its first week, landing No. 4 on the Billboard chart. The album’s reception proved Universal Motown President Sylvia Rhone’s assertion that Cudi was a “game-changer in hip-hop.” To date, he’s sold over 4.6 million digital singles, 1.3 million mobiletones, and according to The Hype Machine, he is among the top ten most blogged about artists of all-time.

Cudi released his sophomore album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, in 2010. The album featured Kanye West, Mary J. Blige and GLC, with production from Emile, Plain Pat, Jim Jonsin, Diplo, Dot Da Genius and others.

The multi-platinum quintet’s last studio album Light Grenades debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 (highest charting album debut of band’s career) and has sold more than 800,000 copies to date in the US.

Hailing from Calabasas, California, Brandon Boyd, Mike Einziger and Jose Pasillas formed Incubus in 1991 while they were in high school. The band’s break came in 1999 with the singles, “Pardon Me,” “Stellar” and “Drive,” from their second full-length, double-platinum selling disc Make Yourself. The group’s third album, Morning View, released in 2001, debuted at No. 2 on the album chart and included the radio hits “Wish You Were Here,” “Nice to Know You” and “Warning.” In 2004, Incubus released A Crow Left of the Murder which achieved platinum status on the strength of the No. 1 hit “Megalomanic.”

Deftones *this weekend* Saturday, June 11 at 8 p.m.
(Special guests The Dillinger Escape Plan and Le Butcherettes)
Tickets start at $30.50
On sale now
After a sold out show with Alice in Chains in fall 2010, Deftones return to The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, June 11 with special guests The Dillinger Escape Plan and Le Butcherettes.

Deftones, one of the most enduring and influential forces in modern rock, released their latest album Diamond Eyes in May 2010. The sixth full-length studio effort by the Grammy-winning, platinum-certified group was produced and mixed by Nick Raskulinecz (Alice in Chains, Coheed & Cambria, Foo Fighters). The band recorded the album after their best friend and bassist Chi Cheng sustained a debilitating brain injury from a car accident in November 2008. MySpace.com recently premiered a new video for lead single “Diamond Eyes,” which was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Roboshobo (Metallica, Mastodon, B-52’s).

As a band out of high school, Deftones mixed trip hop with thrash, melodic vocals with crushing reverb and pretty with ugly. As chart-toppers and headliners, they have crossed over genres and defied categorization. Above all, Deftones have stuck together throughout their often-turbulent tenure and now deliver one of the most compelling records of their career.

Critics, marketers and radio alike have struggled with where to place or how to define Deftones. The band has played with punk rockers L7, toured with Metallica and appealed to some of the same fan base as Morrissey and generally defied simple, and ultimately pointless genre classification.

Deftones Saturday, June 11 at 8 p.m.

Kid Cudi *just added* Friday, June 24 at 9 p.m.
(Special guest Chip Tha Ripper)
Tickets start at $39.50 On sale Saturday, May 7 at noon

The Moody Blues’ legendary hit “Nights In White Satin,” originally released in 1967 from their landmark Days Of Future Passed album, recently landed at No. 2 on the UK Rock Chart and at No. 27 on the BBC Radio 1 chart, marking the fourth time the single has charted in its more than 40-year history. The song’s resurgence ignited from a recent smash cover performance by Matt Cardle, current winner of Simon Cowell’s hit UK show “The X Factor.”

The Moody Blues have sold in excess of 70 million albums worldwide and have been awarded an astonishing 14 platinum and gold albums. Their incredible roster of hits includes “Nights In White Satin,” “Tuesday Afternoon,” “Ride My See Saw,” “The Story In Your Eyes,” “Isn’t Life Strange,” “Question,” “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band),” “Your Wildest Dreams,” and “I Know You’re Out There Somewhere,” to name a few. Deftones Saturday, June 11 at 8 p.m.
(Special guests The Dillinger Escape Plan and Le Butcherettes)
Tickets start at $30.50 On sale now
After a sold out show with Alice in Chains in fall 2010, Deftones return to The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, June 11 with special guests The Dillinger Escape Plan and Le Butcherettes.

Kid Cudi at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Friday, June 24

The Cud Life Tour
KID CUDI
With special guest Chip Tha Ripper

FRIDAY, JUNE 24 AT 9PM

Tickets on-sale Saturday, May 7 at noon

Hip Hop sensation Kid Cudi is hitting the road this summer with The Cud Life Tour. He’ll be making a stop at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, June 24 and will be joined by special guest Chip Tha Ripper. Tickets go on sale this Saturday at noon.

Cudi’s first hit “Day N Nite” was inspired by the passing of his uncle and changed his life forever. Recorded in a pitch-black room, Cudi put his heart into the gloomy pop-hit. After posting it on his MySpace, the song started racking up hits and eventually caught the attention of A-Trak, Kanye West’s former tour DJ.

A-Trak fell in love with song, and Cudi ended up signing a single deal on the DJ’s “Fool’s Gold” label. A critically-acclaimed mixtape, presented by Pat and Emile and co-branded with NYC streetwear label 10 Deep called “A KiD Named CuDi” was the MC’s first full body of work, and released on July 17, 2008 . Things were looking up, but the game truly changed when A-Trak played “Day N Nite” at Kanye West’s “Stronger” premiere party. West loved the song, and saw enough potential in Cudi that he flew him out to Hawaii to do reference hooks for Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3. Soon, ‘Ye and Cudi started work on Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak album. Cudi’s sing-songy, eclectic style was the perfect match for 808s, and the up-and-comer ended up writing four songs (“Heartless,” “Paranoid,” “Welcome To Heartbreak,” and “Robocop”). With hype (and Kanye) behind him and a Billboard hit with “Day N Nite,” Cudi inked a deal with Kanye’s G.O.O.D music label.

The album—which featured production from Emile, Plain Pat, RATATAT, MGMT and Kanye West—sold 104,419 copies its first week, good enough for #4 on the Billboard chart. The album’s reception, both critical and commercial, proved Universal Motown President Sylvia Rhone’s assertion that Cudi was a “game-changer in hip-hop”. To date he’s sold over 4.6 million digital singles, 1.3 million mobiletones, and according to The Hype Machine, he is among the top ten most blogged about artists of all-time.

Tickets, starting at $39.50 (plus applicable service fees), will be available Saturday at noon at the Hard Rock Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.com or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000.
