Galactic, Phil Lesh and Friends, O.A.R., Disclosure and Chance the Rapper Highlight Brooklyn Bowl’s Las Vegas April Lineup

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is continuing its “reputation for greatness” (Las Vegas Weekly) with its April music lineup, which will feature some of the most highly-anticipated performances in Las Vegas. The venue will host standout performances from Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Phil Lesh and Friends, O.A.R, Galactic and Disclosure.

Galactic – Thurs, April 3 – Sat, April 5 and Wed, April 9 – Sat, April 12

Galactic formed in New Orleans 18 years ago and cut their teeth playing the greatest party in America: Mardi Gras. A collaborative band with a unique format, Galactic is a stable quintet that plays together with high musicianship. (shows: 11:59 p.m. / admission $10)

Robert Randolph and The Family Band – Fri, April 4 – Sun, April 6

Robert Randolph & The Family Band first gained national attention with the release of the album Live at the Wetlands in 2002. The band followed with three studio recordings over the next eight years— Unclassified, Colorblind, and We Walk This Road—which, together with tireless touring and unforgettable performances at such festivals as Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, won them an expanding and passionate fan base. Randolph’s unprecedented prowess on his instrument garnered him a spot on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” list, and also attracted the attention of such giants as Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana, who have collaborated with him on stage and in the studio. (FriApr 4: show: 9:00 p.m., admission: $10 // Sat, Apr. 5 shows: 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., admission $10 // Sun, Apr. 6 show: 1:00 p.m. / admission $10)

Bonobo – Thurs, April 10

Known by his stage name, Bonobo, Simon Green is a British musician, producer and DJ. Simon Green’s Bonobo project established the welcome niche of a pretension-free, post-party intellectual chillout. An almost silent figure among Ibizian romanticists, Green began in Brighton, debuting in 1999 with a track on Tru Thoughts Recordings’ When Shapes Join Together compilation. (show: 8:00 p.m. / admission $20-$25)

The Naked and Famous / The 1975 – Mon, April 14

New Zealand band The Naked and Famous have built an ever-growing audience around the globe for their pulverizing live shows, a blend of the pure pop exhilaration of the hit singles “Young Blood” and “Punching In A Dream” with the thrilling dark electronic arts that drive the group’s sound. Critics have been bemused and thrilled by The 1975, the Manchester four-piece and their amorphous drifts between brooding art rock, crisp electronica, dance floor R&B, and 80s gloss pop. (show: 7:30 p.m. / admission $25-$40)

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue – Tues, April 15 – Thurs, April 17

Troy ‘Trombone Shorty’ Andrews has God-given talent, natural charisma and a relentless drive to bridge music’s past and future. His third outing for Verve Records, Say That To Say This, co-produced by Andrews and Raphael Saadiq, sounds like nothing else out there with influences of jazz, funk and rap. The newest album showcases the natural music evolution for Andrews and his longtime band, Orleans Avenue – guitarist Pete Murano, bassist Mike Ballard and drummer Joey Peebles. (shows: 11:59 p.m. / admission: $25)

The Green – Tues, April 15

The Green formed on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, in 2009.  The group began as a vehicle for six different members of Hawai‘i’s tight-knit music scene to record a few songs and have a bit of fun along the way.  Their self-titled debut album, released in 2010, earned both critical and commercial acclaim, and was awarded iTunes Best Reggae Album of the Year. Since then, the band has released two more albums, Ways & Means and Hawai‘i ’13, solidifying their status as a force in reggae music. (show: 8:00 p.m. / admission $15-$20)

Chance the Rapper & Waka Flocka Flame – Thurs, April 17

Coming on the scene with vibrant rhymes and jazzy, retro beats, Chicago’s Chance the Rapper broke through with the 2013 mixtape Acid Rap. With the release of Flockaveli in 2010, Waka Flocka’s debut album landed him at No. 6 on the Billboard charts and his mega successful hits “Hard In Da Paint,” “Grove St. Party” and “No Hands” featuring Wale and Roscoe Dash made him synonymous with party music. (show: 8:00 p.m. / admission: $35)

Phil Lesh and Friends – Fri, April 18 – Sun, April 20

Phil Lesh is entering his 15th year of playing with a rotating mix of Friends, both old and new. (shows: 8:00 p.m. / admission: $79.50)

The Infamous Stringdusters – Sun, April 20

The Grammy-nominated group, The Infamous Stringdusters, gained notice in ’07 with album, Fork in the Road. Their bluegrass tunes have won them many awards, such as Emerging Artist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. (show: 11:00 p.m. / admission: $15)

MiM0SA & Star Slinger – Wed, April 23

The music from the artist, producer and DJ called MiM0SA has been explained by others as a genre of its own and self-described as Future Trill. His combination of hip-hop beats with futuristic electronic music is a unique blend that has been selling out venues in North America. Star Slinger is an Electronic project created by Nottinghamshire born Darren Williams, and first gained recognition after self-releasing a beat tape in the summer of 2010 entitled Volume 1.  (show: 9:00 p.m. / admission: $15-$20)
